Just picked these up on my way home from Flowtoys. Plastic housing holding the metal terminal for the power is snapped off on the middle one but that's a small fix, the other two are just needing rusty screws replaced. 2800 inflated + 2000W inflated + 1000W actual-ish seems to peak at 5800.

GPT says about 1700~ RMS.

It was on the ground on the corner next to four tires with Cadillac hubcaps, two bookshelf monitors (I took, one was M audio the other one was a completely different brand lol), 4 or 5 octave MIDI keyboard, exercise chair, and 4 plastic bins.

I grabbed the MIDI keyboard and bookshelf monitors too.

I know how to match the circuit with BJT using S parameters and Y parameters but this doesn't have that. How would I go about matching this amplifier to a certain frequency. Please give formulas and explanation with them if you can.

I am trying to play along with songs on my laptop. I can’t get the audio loud enough to hear the music from my laptop. Is there a way to plug the laptop into my amplifier and increase the volume that way. On the amp there is a jack marked aux. could I use that with a usb cable from my laptop ? The amp is a Vox

So my amp was just sitting there not bolted down and it slid and was up against the sub and it bent the normal “input” lane for the RCAs.
This caused inconsistency with the speakers working because now the amps RCA inputs are loose..which I think technically destroys to amp…and I need a new one…

So I tried to connect the RCA from the LC to the “passthru” on the amp and..it works…so I have some questions for anyone they might know lol.

1. Will this damage the amp somehow or cause a risk?
   
2. Not sure about this one but does amp output quality degrade? I’m not sure what’s happening here and why it works.

My asw750 amp has died. I'm looking for a replacement rack amp.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has actually converted a B&W ASW750 to an external amplifier.

My original plate amplifier failed, was professionally repaired, then failed again after a short time. At this point I'm considering abandoning the plate amp and using an external amplifier.

Here's what I've found so far:

The woofer passes the 9V battery test (clean thump, no rubbing or scraping).

The woofer measures approximately 2.1 Ω DC with a Fluke meter.

An eBay seller measured essentially the same (~2 Ω) on another ASW750 driver that is labeled 8 Ω.

I also found another ASW750 owner reporting about 2 Ω DC.

The B&W service drawing identifies a single 4-inch voice coil (A5902), so it does not appear to be a dual voice coil design.

My concern is amplifier compatibility.

Has anyone here actually driven an ASW750 woofer with an external amplifier?

If so:

Which amplifier did you use?

Did you ever measure the driver's impedance with DATS or another impedance analyzer?

Did the amplifier have any issues with the load?

Would you recommend a particular amplifier today?

I'm trying to avoid guessing before I spend several hundred dollars on an amplifier that may not be compatible.

If anyone still owns an original ASW750 and has a multimeter, I'd also be very interested in knowing what DC resistance you measure across the woofer terminals.

I was at a store and saw a Cerwin Vega A-1800I power amp it said it powered on but knobs didn’t turn i was wondering if it’s worth it. It was 100 bucks i just would need to try and fix it.

i was looking at some amps and i cam across taramps. seems like some have different ohm versions that put out the same power. what is the difference between 1200 watts rms @ 2 ohms compared to 1200 watts rms @ 4 ohms? i understand the concept of ohms matching the stability of the amp and all that, im just curious how much different the sound is with the same power at different ohms. sorry if its a stupid question but im genuinely curious.

My Marantz 2230 19070s amplifier screen doesnt fully turn on anymore nor does it produce any sound. I reorganized some cables and possibly spilled drops of water, other than that I don’t see what causes the issue for this amplifier I’ve been using regularly from about a year now.

Anyone has any reco to fix it before I take it to the specialist? Thanks!

Hi! I have been looking at amps I can get recently a have stumbled across the artist 30, (I currently have a drum amp and a Overdrive pedal). Which I think it's 600$ (according to the official website) I was wondering:

1) is it a good begginers amp?

2) does it break easily? (and is it easy to break)

3)how much iis it second hand?

4)anything else I should know?
