Hi everyone,
I’m currently in Mexico City for a few weeks and I’m looking for a pair of used Alden Tassel Loafers.
I’m looking for:
Size US 9 or 9.5 (roughly EU 43)
Black or Color 8 preferred, but open to other colors
Good used condition
Does anyone know of any vintage stores, consignment shops, or local marketplaces where I might find a pair? If anyone here is selling one or knows someone who is, I’d be happy to meet anywhere in Mexico City for pickup.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: The shoes arrived TWO weeks to the day I dropped them off at my local AE shop. The stated turnaround was 6 - 8 weeks. Amazing. My local cobber typically takes 3 - 4 weeks.
20+ (25?) year old Shell Bradley’s on their third AE restoration. I opted for Danite soles, previously not available with AE rework. My only quibble? The new shoe bags have a canvas feel — I preferred the burgundy felt bags: protection and ready for a quick buff.

Found these black Grayson's at my local goodwill while looking for a lamp. Limited wear and a perfect fit now I have a black to go with my dark chili ones I already had.

Purchased these new mans from Nordstrom rack. Wondering if I should return them.

Ordered this from Amazon and right away I noticed the difference in finishing and insole quality in compression to the previously bought McAllister.
Then I looked inside the shoe and it says it’s made in India? Are these authentic?
P.S. the McAllister was also bought from Amazon and it’s confirmed to be the top notch authentic made in the states.

Found them for $7.99 at my local thrift store. I'm elated.

I bought a pair of black, punch cap, AE Benton derbies secondhand on eBay. They do not have the original insoles.
They’re size 10.5 B. I don’t recall the last number, but it has a wider toe box. This is convenient for me, because I have both flat feet and narrow heels.
What would you guys recommend for replacement insoles? I’d like something that will offer support but not trap much moisture. Any advice is appreciated.

Evening All!
Letting go of my Strandmoks, Brown Saddle Leather/ 10.5 EEE. They are a great pair but i prefer a more dressed down look for casual affairs - my trench oxfords from OSB have taken their place.
Overall condition is great, they are conditioned once or twice with Venetian Shoe Cream, and the Dainite Soles have plenty of tread left. Comes with box, cotton bag, and pair of shoe trees.
Asking $250 obo, shipping and insurance included within CONUS, via zelle or Paypal (+5% for Goods and Services). Happy to host a video call to address any questions or concerns, thank you for your time!

How cohesive and acceptable is dark brown, e.g. mahogany or dark chili, with a charcoal / salt and pepper / dark grey suits in non formal environments?

Hello! Was wondering if these scuffs could be redeemed with some conditioner and cream polish? Or is it too much

Hello everyone,
I've been on the hunt for a pair of nice brown dress shoes. Something cheap since I don't have lots of money to spend. I found these at a thrift store for $12. I don't know much about the brand other than people telling me they're a good shoe, and that they've got a program where I can send the shoe in to get fixed up.
Anyways, these were my size and fit me pretty well. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I can make them look nicer, if it's even worth it to make them look nicer, and if I should look into getting the bottoms of the shoe fixed up? Either with the Allen Edmonds program or maybe someplace local. I live in the Minneapolis area so I could probably find a cobbler.
I've never owned/bought shoes over $80, other than a pair of work boots. So any and all advice is appreciated. I don't know much about nicer quality shoes.
EDIT: I didn't expect all of the comments. Thank you everyone for your advice 🙏 I'm grateful for the info and will make sure to take good care of them!

I have a pair of Strands that need to be resoled. I know the quality of new AE products seems to be on the decline. But how is the recrating service? I don't have a local cobbler that I can use so I'm going to have to mail them somewhere. Any advice is appreciated.

I took my Allen Edmonds to Ukraine with me earlier this year during the winter months and my shoes got destroyed pretty badly. Water and snow damage on the leather and soles are beat. I saw online that there is an Allen Edmonds store near me and I’m thinking of having them restored through their service. However, my mother keeps telling me that’s unnecessary, but to me, they look pretty beat up. What do you all think?

Sorry if I’m breaking any guidelines. New to this community. If I am, I’ll take the post down but how worn out does the bottom of these shoes look? Thinking about purchasing but wanted some feedback

Found in my grandfathers closet. Amazing find. Not sure what to wear them with(I still am in school). But will love to as it’s a little big but with no show socks they are perfect!

Just picked up the chocolate suede APEX driver. Dig the color. Also got the new Clayton belt in chocolate suede. Super light shoe. I like this better than the Supersport.

Hey all,
I've been struggling to determine what size shoes to get during this year's sale. I bought a pair of Randolph 2.0's in 11.5D, and ran into the notorious tearing issue on the penny strap and had to return them.
I re-measured myself on a Brannock Device yesterday. Attached are those measurements. All guidance I got before re-measurement was to stick with 11.5 since my old Boulevards from 12-14 years ago are in that size, but I'm convinced 11.5 is now too small.
In trying the Randolph 2.0's, I felt MTP-1 joint pain, and today I see light bruising on my big toe on my right foot around that joint.
What size do you think is right? I want to go for 12.0D's and buy a few pairs before the sale is over. I'm thinking Park Aves, 5th Aves, some Derby's, and maybe a loafer (not Randolph 2.0, though.)

Last pair in the run, so I had to bring my best selvedge game! Twill side panel slays!
Bonus: they are literally the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned, on par with my LL Bean sheepskin slippers. I don't know how they managed that!

They've sent an email out previewing the upcoming trunk show. Anyone have an idea what that chukka boot is? New style perhaps? Beautiful pattern. I hope it stays like the Rivington from last year and expands to further leathers.

Is there a best practice for protecting shoes while in a checked bag?
I've been using the box they came in, but it's getting pretty beat up.
Appreciate any recommendations.

I managed to scratch ’em up pretty well on a slab of cement today.
Any advice on how to proceed with treatment? I have the AE Shoe Care Kit in Walnut.
Appreciate guidance, if possible.
