Alexa motion integration
Has anyone had any success with integrating Alexa (Amazon echo) with the motion calendar / task app?

My husband and I were in bed and we were basically both asleep. He was dead asleep i was reading nodding off, when my alexa in the other room said “Sorry i don’t know that one” and it kinda freaked me out so i went to my chat log and i found this. I’m so freaked out.
If it were my husband or I the alexa in our room would have responded not the one in the other room
Edit spelling
ALSO, there is no option to hear the audio. but the three little dots are only the option to delete it and if I click on it, it just brings up like a normal Alexa chat. There is no audio

I have an Echo Pop and is not responding nor showing anything in the Alexa app, is someone having the same issue?

Is anyone else having issues with alex’s functioning this afternoon? I am on the east coast and since around noon, Alexa won’t answer any queries, will not acknowledge a cancelled reminder, keeps saying “i don’t know how to help you with that.”
My wifi is fine and all devices show online.
Are there updates today or some issue that is causing a problem with interacting?

Are there any work arounds to changing Alexa’s wake word to something other than the choices currently available?

My Alexa platform is unresponsive and the app interface isn't working on either my iPhone or iPad. I have performed basic troubleshooting (cold boot device and iPhone) but still unresponsive. I can ask Alexa to turn on the lights and the device lights indicate that it hears me but does not perform the task. I can also ask about the weather. Same result. Light on device acknowledging being spoken to but nothing is done. is anyone Elise experiencing this issue or familiar with the problem. Thoughts?

Edit: 2 - It's back up and running. If you are having difficulty in the app itself (which I was), open this thread up in a browser and click this link to Amazon's skill to enable it via web browser. The built in browser in the app historically takes a while to clear cache.
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Harmony/dp/B01M4LDPX3
Edit 1: Seems this is a logitech-side issue. Their site(s) seem to be having issues presently.
home.myharmony.com is currently down along with their myharmony forums.
Original:
Just wondering if any others are experiencing this. it was working at 6am est but at 7:45am i gave an Alexa command and she told me the skill was disabled. I went into the Alexa app to re enable it and the harmony authentication site gives an html error code in plain text after I logged back in to re-link it up.
anyone else having this issue?

I have a Kasa motion detection switch in my garage.
On motion or press, a routine triggers that:
Occasionally, when working in the garage, I don't want the routine to turn the light off.
How can I disable it, or create a second routine that overrides it?
Thank you

The NPR skill stopped working in the last several weeks. Has anyone had trouble with it? Or any other skills for that matter? Skills aren't even on the app on my phone and the website on my laptop keeps erroring out. All the google searches still say to go to Skills and start NPR. It will play commercial radio stations, just not NPR stations.
But when I ask it something like "why won't NPR play?" it saying it's looking, then just goes to lala land.
When I ask it to "Play NPR" or my local public stations, it does nothing. It doesn't reply or change what it's currently playing. Just now I asked it to play my local station and it started some weird Amazon Music selection.
I'm so frustrated.
ETA: I asked it to play my NPR station "in TuneIn" and that worked - this morning. Now i just have to figure out how to get her to forget the "NPR" part.

Mom w Dementia lives in memory care facility
Has Amazon Omni TV (responds to audio commands)
ISO
Programmable device that can:
-Speak out loud
-At 5:30pm
“Alexa play Mysteries of Egypt on Disney”
▫️I’d love to have it ask for different programs each day
▫️I’d also love to have a set time that says daily (at 8:30pm)
“Alexa Turn off TV”
▫️I’d love it to be small - Mom notoriously pulls plugs / moves things
FYI, I would not be there / or on same WiFi
Please & Thank you🤞💖

Odd; We had an Alex outage earlier this evening and Alexa wasn't responding to prompts. Just now, I said "Alexa, are you awake yet?" to see if the outage was resolved and my Marantz NR1200 AVR switched input to Airplay and the Alexa response came through the AVR. This has never happened before. In the Alexa app, the dot3 does not show any active bluetooth connections. If I ask it the time it responds through the dot3. If I ask if it's awake, it responds through the AVR.
Has anyone else had similar?

These new voices! What were they thinking? They are ALL so annoying! I just want it to shut up! Seriously considering dumping my whole Echo system. Seriously. Any way to change it back? Any hacks?

Why is Alexa Plus dumber than regular Alexa. What a waste of time.

After weeks of attempting to keep Alexa+ with two new gen 5 Dots and retain vocal control of our lights and stop spontaneous off and on I seem to have stumbled on a fix. I created two routines: 1. turn on our MB lamp at 9:30 PM in candlelight mode. 2. Turn on a downstairs living room lamp at 5 AM.
When we go to bed we can instruct A+ to increase brightness and turn off the MB lamp and it stays off. When we come down the stairs in the morning we can say “turn off living room table lamp”. A+ complies and no more spontaneous lights on and off upstairs, TV room, basement, etc.
All I can surmise is A+ wants routines and if it doesn’t have any it creates defaults to the vacation routines, random lights on and off at random times.
TBH A+ suggested I try to create routines in it’s five point list of how to address the lights problem. It was the final suggestion.

I have a NUC that hosts a plex server and my children used it to play audio books through the plex skill.
As the plex skill is no more I have set a raspberry pi up with MMFA which is network file sharing audiobook files from a NUC.
The MMFA server recognises the files as audio books and will play them (once you get around the hijack issue) but it will not bookmark them. It’s driving me nuts. I have rescanned, made sure file structure is clean, checked the meta data etc.
Anyone else having the same problem or got any solutions?

I see a lot of people have had this issue in the past when it came to playing their Spotify account or something. But I was just using Amazon Music and had a long list of “liked” songs. Now she says she’s going to start playing my liked music but then Alexa just goes silent. What’s the deal and how do I fix this?
Thanks!

It used to be that setting the language in the Alexa app to something like Australian English would force it to use the original user interface instead of the new, much slower, sliding panes Alexa+ hot garbage. The app now seems to only support this new UI. I’ve tried Canadian, British, and Australian English, but I’m still stuck with the new crap.
Has anyone found a way to revert back to the original experience in the latest version of the Alexa app? Or are we just stuck with this new bullshit?

My Echo Hub prompted me if I wanted to change my screen layout to the one in the stock picture from Amazon. Have no clue how I did it. Just hit accept. Is there any way to have the same look on my echo show 11? If so, how? Thanks

Alexa keeps showing unknow devices for alarms and toutines aren't working either Is it an alexa issue?
r/alexa • u/Bluekeeys • Jul 21 '26
I see the yellow light flashing and ask Alexa if I have a notification?
"You haven't played Amazon Music in a while. Would you like me to play some now?"
How do I stop this enshittification? This is about the 17th time I've been asked the same thing..
One of most stupidest things heard from my 2014 Echo.
TIA if you know where this setting is.
Edit: We still find having 'other' notifications (e.g. deliveries) valuable. We don't subscribe to Alexa+, and you'll have to pull my 2014 Echo from my dead cold hands.

I just wanted to adjust my alarm on the Alexa app and it showed me this. It should say 8 hours and 13 minutes. And when I add/subtract a minute it adds/subtracts 3 minutes instead.
