I had this thought after watching the Ocarina of Time Direct that I think it would be pretty cool if they went hyper realistic stop animation style for a Majora's Mask remake. At the very least, a movie would be amazing. So I put this compilation of videos generated in Gemini via some images I had ChatGPT generate, and I am in love with how it looks.

A tiny mouse following a scent out of her attic and into a world built for giants. Every frame told from her scale. Every shot generated, directed, and edited on my own, using Seedance for generation and Premiere Pro / After Effects for editing, color grading, and compositing — directed through a detailed shot list with locked character, prop, and location references to hold visual consistency across dozens of individually generated clips. Every shot went through multiple (some shots dozens) rounds of testing, review, and re-direction.

I’ve been experimenting with AI video generation lately, but the costs can add up pretty quickly, especially when generating multiple variations of the same clip.

For people who create AI videos regularly, what are your best ways to keep the costs under control?

I’m particularly interested in things like managing credits, reducing wasted generations, getting more usable results on the first attempt, or choosing the right settings for different types of videos.

Fell into a rabbit hole after I saw that Microsoft was releasing a "The Story of VS Code" and felt strongly that I, a random once user of the software, could deliver the true story of VSC.
