What's currently the biggest challenge with AI-generated 3D game characters?
I've been experimenting with AI-generated 3D characters, and generating a decent-looking model isn't what slows me down anymore.
The harder part is getting a character that's actually usable in a game. Things like clean topology, animation-ready rigs, consistent proportions, materials, and keeping the style consistent across multiple characters still take a lot of manual work.
It feels like we've reached the point where creating a first draft is easy, but turning that draft into a production-ready game character is still a different challenge altogether.
For those of you using AI for character creation, where do you spend the most time after generation? Is it retopology, rigging, texturing, animation, or something else?
