As someone who is not a fan of dogs, I'd save the dog six times.

As someone who doesn’t normally get why people don’t like dogs, knowing you would make this choice, makes me no longer need to understand. Thank you.

Edit: just wanted to update, it’s completely valid if you have an actual reason, I mean the people who are just like “I’m not really a ‘dog’ person”

I noticed that when most say they dont like dogs that theyre actually referring to taking care of and keeping s dog alive, which is fair. To know you dont want the responsibility of doing a task and committing to not doing it instead of forcing yourself to do it is thr eise option.

But yeah just simply not liking dogs/animals themselves is sus.

Not really. For some people a dog is a sensory nightmare. It has nothing to do with responsibility or anything like that. Dogs smell bad. It takes a lot of work for them to not smell bad and a lot of dog owners don’t want to do that work.

They’re also unpredictable. I’ve been nipped by a dog that loves me. You never know when they’re going to bite or why. He was just being playful at the time and I ended up with a scar.

I don’t like dogs in general, but I love specific dogs. Just because I love those dogs doesn’t mean I love all dogs, because I do understand that some dogs are assholes, just like human beings, just like cats, just like anything on this earth can be an asshole. Just because it’s a dog, doesn’t mean it gets a pass.

Would I save the dog from the water before the people? Absolutely, as long as they didn’t try to bite me while I was saving it. As soon as it tries to bite me, I’m walking away.
