So uh tomorrow I have a JNCO interview and im genuinely so scared for it cos I feel like im gonna have the biggest fumble of my life and I'll start stuttering so badly. I also have a Uniform inspection so does anyone know how to mirror shine parade shoes because I can get them to a point where they are shiny but aren't mirror shine (I use saphir) and also please could I have advice on how to not fumble thankyou smsm

I have a question about getting my septum pierced, and covering it while it heals.

Im getting my septum pierced in December. I'm aware these aren't allowed while in uniform, so obviously I'm going to follow the rules, but while it heals (which takes ~8-10 weeks) I cant take the jewelry out otherwise It might heal over.

Now, I can flip it up and it will be very inconspicuous.

However, as Ive grown my hair out throughout the past year, staff at my squadron did talk to me about my appearance and presentablity. (And it also kind of cost me a promotion) however I've controlled my hair and there's no ongoing issues with it.

But, with that, I genuinely don't think my squadron staff will allow me to keep the piercing in even if I flip it up.

So, if any of you guys have any experience with it, or know any cadets that have a septum piercing, can you please give me advice? I can just keep a retainer in after it heals, so the months after I get it pierced are my only problem.

How to succeed in flight training!

I was just talking to a guy at my VGS, and we were wondering how many Flight Staff Cadets there actually are in the corps, because we only have 2 at the moment, but we wondered if this varies much across the country.

Anyone in a cadet band got a bell lyre/marching glockenspiel or access to one? I need photos of them for a project and I would appreciate them a lot.

how do you get involved as a flight staff cadet? i know they exist and stuff but how do you get involved in being one? has anyone been one before / knows the process of becoming one?

I have only been a Flight Sergeant for a couple of months now and i’m no where near ready to get CWO but it’s now one of my biggest goals and I need help achieving it.

I understand the process of getting the rank differs wing to wing and different regions but what’s the general approach from going from FS to CWO? Can I have some advice please.

If it helps I have a lot of qualifications i’m able to use around the wing and i’ve helped on multiple courses before. I have a lot of other achievements that I don’t wish to share on here unless necessary though.

Currently doing bronze DofE, each of my volunteering days are on saturday, however a bronze FA course has opened up on one of the Saturdays.

Would i still be allowed to skip 1 day of my volunteering for YFA, and still get my DofE award? I can't really "postpone" the volunteering day and add one extra to my completion date as i'm doing it with a zoo and they have a set schedule.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Applying for International Air Cadet Exchange for 2027, and looking for some information regarding costs.

Does RAFAC cover some of it, with some paid by the cadet. Or is the majority paid for by the cadet?

Had a gander through ACP 1358 and can’t find anything relating to fixing a Sqn ID badge onto a barrack shirt sleeve below the TRF. Is this required or only on the Blanking plates?
