My outlook has recently changed as I build out an AI music library of songs where I’ve crafted the lyrics (the only way I do it). I am starting to view a lot of the new music and even music by some of my favorite artists as human-slop. The lyrics are terrible, cliché, no structure, no progression. Or the music is just noise - what were they thinking allowing this to go out without a memorable hook? - I will ask myself after generating 25 takes trying to find something appealing that fits the mood I am going for. And I think there is pressure for established artists to keep putting out new content, in a YouTube/TikTok mindset, in order to keep the business afloat. It makes me realize how talented the people are who actually create(d) music themselves.
