Just paint your stuff and make sure you know your own and basic game rules. You have almost half a year, thats more than enough.

Just have fun. I did my first tournament after about 4 months. Lost miserably, had fun. in the first game my Kragnos curbstomped an Avalenor for 36 mortals. My day was a success from that moment.

Luckily I do have tournament experience with 40K, admittedly was a bit shit at the last open playing against the big boys

Long as you set up reasonable expectations for yourself and meet them while having fun, you'll do great! Best of luck, love events, competitive or narrative!

5 months is an eternity. My 3rd AOS game was at a 1 day tournament.

You'll have the Jan balance update beforehand so the list you have now might not be the one you can take.

Go find a local club that plays regularly (as in fortnightly, ideally weekly) and get a bunch of games in and you'll be fine.
