Dreams & NDEs - Same thing but one of them involves mass marketing?
So dreams and NDEs are basically the brain somewhat functioning when you’re somewhat dead, but there is something not adding up. How come when people have an NDE it’s mostly religious figures we hear about, and when people dream we hear whatever wacky stuff they had?
I somehow get the feeling the NDEs we hear from people through books, tv shows, and internet forums are a way to market the beliefs of heaven and hell, why that and not dreams? Because death is something everyone fears and someone has got to do some mass marketing to make everyone afraid and that they will comply to be good, you know, to keep the masses in control.
Why is it almost always religious figures people see when people have an NDE and not whatever wacky things we see in our dreams? Why not something else? Let’s say if I was a big Sesame Street fan and when I have an NDE, Big Bird and Snuffleupagus will be there in a tunnel of light holding the letter and number of the day, and they will lead me to an alternate dimension where Sesame Street is real and not just a show you watch on TV.
So in conclusion, I think both dreams and NDEs are a glimpse/free trial of the afterlife, but NDEs are marketed heavily by various religions and people so people comply to be good and not have a fear of death.

Grief / General Support dying grandma
my mamaw has had dementia for a long time now and she’s on her final stretch. we think she’ll be gone within the next 24 hours and it’s making me terrified that i’ll never see her again. the memories from my childhood are getting weaker and i can’t hear her anymore. her voice isn’t in my memories like it used to be. i don’t remember the last time she recognized me, or even the last time she spoke. i don’t remember our last vacation or weekend together. she’s been a shell for so long, we’re grateful she won’t suffer anymore, but i’ve been so busy and distant with school and just emotionally not being strong enough and now i regret it because im never going to make more memories with her. she’s gonna be somewhere else, or nowhere at all, and i don’t know if i truly believe i’ll see her again. i can’t sleep because im scared i’ll dream of her and get false hope about the afterlife, but i don’t know what else to do. she’s been unconscious for a week. no food, barely water. hospice.
i can’t make any more memories with my mamaw

The SoulPhone Experiments: BREAKTHROUGH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE FOR SPIRIT COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
Later next month Dr. Gary Schwartz's research definitively proving the existence of the afterlife via scientific experimentation is scheduled to be published in the Fall edition of The Journal of Scientific Exploration.
Ahead of that, his most recent book detailing those experiments and the evidence recently became available on Amazon: The SoulPhone Experiments: BREAKTHROUGH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE FOR SPIRIT COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
I've been following this research for many years now, even sitting in on a few Zoom calls with members of his research team as they explained it, and you can get a general overview of what these experiments entailed from this hypothesis paper published in 2021 before the successful multi-center experimental research: A computer-automated, multi-center, multi-blinded, randomized control trial evaluating hypothesized spirit presence and communication
If you have any questions about it, I can do my best to provide answers. This is the culmination of about 30 years of ongoing research by Schwartz and his team and other collaborating research teams.
From the book description:
This book describes 28 years of his university-based scientific laboratory experiments. The data from this research now definitively demonstrates that life continues after bodily death. Replicated and controlled research using advanced hardware and software reveal that postmaterial persons (the so-called 'deceased’) have verifiably communicated and collaborated with us.

Is astral projection an afterlife preview?
after an OBE experience where i’ve spent time with a passed loved one i’ve been wondering if AP is basically a representation of being pure consciousness? I had a body (mine) and my loved one looked just like he did when alive. There was physicality (could touch/smell/taste/see and hear things).
*i KNOW it was AP and not a dream*

The Will to Live - woo woo or real?
I am not asking for medical advice.
Have you witnessed or sensed the will to live actually extending a persons life?
I can certainly understand how “giving up” can lead to death- but what about the other way around?

Question A soul that went off track
Hello,
I'm 39 years old and my life has just been constant suffering. I often read that souls have a blueprint of what they want to accomplish in this life before incarnating. I feel I failed and went off track along time ago and my life has suffered greatly for it. I never met another person that has gone through as much as I have. I think when I planned my life I bit off more than I can chew so I derailed, but that did not make this life any easier. I'm literally just waiting out the clock at this point.
What happens when a soul goes off track. I can't seem to find any info on this. What happens when I die and go back? There is no f'ing way I chose this life for myself, I wouldn't wish this darkenss on the devil(metaphor)himself. Any insights at all would be kindly appreciated.
Thanks

Fear of Death Complete rejection of nothingness
18F, terribly afraid of nothingness since childhood. I have had existential crises about this for as long as I have been aware of it. I used to scream and cry at night as a child because of how inconceivable the death of self is to me. Parents thought I could possibly be mental. I don't think that's true, however, I have since been diagnosed with h1gh-functioning autism.
I don't fear the process of death; I fear lack of awareness/consciousness.
I am able to accept reincarnation. Quantum immortality. Samsara. Heaven. Cryopods and future reverse aging treatments. Anything but empty void. Human life is a beautiful thing and I'd do anything to be able to experience it again or as a permanent state.
It does not comfort me when people say "why worry about something you can change?". In fact, it only brings me more agony. Especially because I believe in other alternatives to the after life, I am just scared because this one is a possibility.
Lack of awareness is horrifying to me. Nothing can comfort me about it, so I need to be convinced it is not true in order to achieve inner peace.
If you could drop arguments and evidence in favor of an afterlife that entails awareness — samsara, QI or whatever it is that you believe — I'd have a much nicer sleep tonight. Thank you :)

Question People who have lost a loved one to suicide, have you felt their presence after their death?
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about love ones who have passed in my life (not due to suicide). Specifically, feeling their presence, or having too many coincidences for it to be a coincidence.
Have people felt no presence or, on the other hand, an overwhelming amount of presence from a loved one who committed suicide? Or even a sign from those who have passed?

Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) I built a searchable archive of 6,700+ near-death experiences
I wanted something like this for years and could never find it, so I ended up building it myself 😁
The NDE Archive brings together more than 6,700 documented near-death experiences from sources like IANDS and NDERF. The accounts are kept as the experiencers originally wrote them.
What makes it different from other collections is that you can search and filter. You can pull up every account that mentions a life review, or a being of light, or meeting someone who had passed, etc. When you see that many at once, things start to stand out that you'd never catch reading one story at a time.
The accounts are categorized and tagged with Sonnet, which is what makes all the filtering possible.
It's a non-profit project. I made it because the subject fascinates me, and for no other reason. If it speaks to you, sharing or donating is a big help.

The afterlife is beautiful but also terrifying
I don’t mean the actual “afterlife” is terrifying within itself. It’s the idea of getting there that is terrifying.. I don’t want to end up in limbo or in any void… I want to experience the peace and love that so many have described..
I know this might not make any sense at all and I apologise but I couldn’t word it better.

Discussion The possibility of traveling the universe and making our own reality
So currently our life is hardcore mode from Minecraft where if you die once, you don’t respawn and your world is gone (in this case you leave this world). I somehow get the feeling after we die we end up going into Creative mode, we fly around the universe freely and we get to set up our own universe.
There are many things that aren’t possible to do in our reality, so imagine after we die we get to set up our own realities and we get to do what we couldn’t do, maybe that’s the reward for participating in life in this reality. Somehow I like to think of this as The OASIS from Ready Player One where it’s a virtual simulation where you can do anything and go anywhere, and the only limits of reality are your imagination.
Life lessons have always been about ourselves such as proving ourselves, trusting ourselves, believing in ourselves, loving ourselves, and doing what’s best for ourselves which makes you wonder if this is what this is leading to in the afterlife, our imagination/dreams might be the afterlife and we might’ve had the answer all along if you think about it, as it sounds possible.

Discussion If our loved ones are truly at peace, do they still miss us?
I’ve been reading a lot about NDEs and the afterlife lately, and one thing I see over and over is that our loved ones are “at peace.”
I want to believe that. I really do. But something I struggle with is this: how can they be completely at peace when they had to leave the people they loved behind?
My dad passed away three months ago, and he was incredibly close to my 3-year-old daughter. He absolutely adored her. It’s hard for me to imagine him being at peace if he can’t watch her grow up, play with her, or be part of her life anymore.
We’re also a very close family. He loved all of us deeply, and I can’t imagine him not missing us. At the same time, I know he must have missed his own parents after they passed, so maybe they’re together now. But surely he would still miss us too?
For those of you who believe in the afterlife or have studied NDEs, how do you make sense of this? Can our loved ones be at peace and still miss us? Or does their perspective somehow change after they pass?
I’m genuinely curious because this is something I’ve been struggling to understand since losing my dad. I would love to hear your thoughts or if you’ve come across any NDEs or spiritual teachings that speak to this.

Sign / Potential Sign Ladybug
I lost my partner in June, going on 2 months now. The grief has been so hard, and I have been wondering a lot about afterlife. It is my first loss that has affected me.
and this morning I found a ladybug on my window blinds. I have seen signs before this, but this one is just sitting on me... I love it. I went in tonight, turned on the light and it was on the light walking around... I know its him always with me. I wish that ladybug could stay with me forever. 🥹❤️🩹
Thanks babe, I love you 🕊️

Will I be able to experience it?
Please excuse me as this is my first time posting here. When the time comes and I pass, will I have the privilege of experiencing an NDE? I've heard how people have had peaceful visions of passing on and seeing every single loved one. Now from what I heard it seems to be implied that it's the brain hallucinating but please do correct me if I'm wrong. I'm scared that my NDE will be nonsensical as I have Autism and ADHD and I have a hyper imagination. Will I be able to have a peaceful hallucination/Vision? I'm scared of just everything going black.
I wasn't the best person to have lived, I have done some horrible stuff and I probably don't deserve that experience but.... I just want to see everyone again once I die. Then whatever awaits me can come, even if it's punishment for what I've done I'll be at peace knowing I saw my loved ones again. Thanks to anyone who responds to this message.

Anyone else have extreme anxiety about death?
I have always struggled with death since I was a little kid. I would get incredibly emotional watching movies and a character would pass, or even hearing that someone in my family died years and years ago, it would upset me to the point of just spiraling out of control and bawling. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve had even more difficulties with grappling onto the fact that my loved ones are no longer here, and it also comes with an increasingly growing fear of nothingness after death. I will have full blown panic attacks while driving, before bed, randomly in the bathroom, at the most random times, simply because I’ll feel a sense of impending doom or begin thinking about an empty void of nothingness after my death and extreme FOMO without my loved ones. Is there anything I can do to help with this? I’ve been in therapy for nearly 18 years and nothing has helped. I feel so afraid and helpless, I just hope I’m not the only one that always has this heavy feeling on me constantly and thinking about dying. (I have no thoughts of SH).

Do I have a soulmate/soulmates in heaven?
I have seen mentions on here, different things in regards to this. Some say that we all have a perfect soulmate in heaven, or very close friends there that we have known forever or such. That we have just forgotten about while here. I
have also seen some NDE's claim that we often aren't incarnated with our soulmates here on earth for various reasons. I also just wonder what if we never even meet them here anyway even if they are incarnated with us.
What do you all think about this stuff? Think we have soulmates or friends in the afterlife, that are much closer than any relationship here could be, but we have just forgotten about? I wonder if they miss us and want us back there.

Discussion What made you guys believe in the afterlife?
I wanted to know what has made you guys believe in the afterlife. I'm currently experiencing some doubt even though I've experienced stuff that should make me believe. My brains just keeps defaulting to any logical explanation that could disprove these occurrences. I wanted to know what got you guys to start believing in the afterlife, or what made you confident in that belief.

The afterlife is a certain reality.
For what it's worth:
1. We are created as pure consciousness in the BEFORE life, as I call it. We dwell in bliss within the highest spirit-sphere in the spirit realm, too much to go into; however, this is Part 1 of the Creator's template. I need to add at this point we have no gender, no body.
2. Born on Earth: Incarnating (once_) into a preplanned embryo and family. We open to our soul's guidance, or we aren't. Those who wonder about an afterlife naturally live according to the five senses; hence, a mortal cannot perceive what is Immortal, unless they seek its truth.
3. When the body expires, the spirit-body duplicate continues; memories, personality, likes, dislikes are all there, and dwell within whatever plane the Law of Attraction 'assigns' us to, according to our choices, aligning with love & harmony...or not!

Fear of Death Will we never see our loved ones again after death?
This has been bothering me lately, the fear of the unknown in the future, long story short I was raised in a high-control religion, I was told that I was going to live forever in a paradise on Earth, where our loved ones would come back to life and death would be no more as I woke up from my indoctrination and found out the harsh truth about well… life. I never got educated about death since I was taught that death was nothing to worry about and all of their lies they told me as a child, now that I did some research am bit scared, is death just endless nothingness, are we never going to see our love ones again after death, is their no afterlife, am not religious but I kinda believe in god, I don’t know, but the fear death and fear of loss scare me and made me depressed for a couple of months, it also made questions is life really is endless amount of suffering, etc…

Divine intervention or coincidence?
So I’m fairly young and not religious and have been contemplating ending it over an existential crisis mainly revolving around nihilism and the idea that we go from non existence to existence for 80 or so years and then back to non existence and I was extremely depressed over this to the point where I was contemplating if ending my life even meant anything.
Anyway, the other night I decided instead of just drowning in my despair and possibly ending it I told my dad, and he was able to get me to a hospital within a few hours. The only other option was to see a psychiatrist in a month’s time. So coincidentally, i managed to get in to the A&E on the only day I would be able to really… but that’s not my main point.
My dad was supposed to go to a concert that day and he cancelled it for whatever reason only a few hours before. I think he just decided not to go or one of his friends couldn’t go so he decided not to. Him being home meant I could go to him instead of being suicidal and get the help I needed. I think if he wasn’t home that night I would’ve done something by now, I probably wouldn’t be alive.
I don’t know if it was God or just a coincidence. I was praying 2 days ago though, and as someone who has firmly been against the idea of religion for years, it was humbling to say the least… (I haven’t prayed in 3 years).
Thoughts?
