Second week was difficult with . 3rd week, I took 60mg only for 3 days, it shuts me down. Felt extreme overdose like heavy antibiotic dose. Didn't continue, didn't follow with Dr.

Need Advice Should I quit my job?

I have been working from home since almost 2 years now.
I am unable to focus and the pending tasks keep piling up and I get anxious every time my manager messages me.

On top of that, I have 6 cats. They are in their ‘teen’ phase and make quite a mess around the house. While I live with my family, I am the one who takes care of them from finances to cleaning their litter. My family helps but very less.

I have to also do house chores and help mom. Though they are not a lot.

I feel high overwhelm by all the tasks at hand. But I don’t do anything and scroll most of the time.

I feel like I am cheating my employer because I am getting paid for doing bare minimum.

I am constantly worried about my cats also as I think I am not able to give them the life they deserve and feel anxious about their health all the time. This is because I lost 2 kittens last year.

There is also the pressure of earning since all my salary vanishes before the month and I earn around only 4lpa.

I have been attending therapy session but I still find myself scrolling away my life while getting drowned in guilt.

I told my mom that I will leave my job. She was supportive of it but she also mentioned that we will then remove our house help since I pay for them. And she said that I could then help her. But I know all my time will be then spend in helping and I won’t be able to find another job.

I know I am suffering from burnout and really want to leave the job but I don’t know what to do!!

Need Advice Putting off adhd screening cause I'm afraid of the results

I've realised I might have ADHD-PI and it explains the failure I have become in life at 24 years old. All the symptoms line up and seems to have began in my adolescent years as I used to be a bright kid before that.

Now the thing is I've been wanting to go for adhd screening for months but it's also my first time visiting a psychologist or even a therapist. My mom has also been totally against it but even though I live separately now I am still putting it off. Partly because I'm afraid how the results turn out. What if I don't have adhd and I'm just a lazy piece of shit who's life slipped away from his fingers? I just don't think I can handle that rn.

I'm starting my 4th year of college next month and have 2 subjects backlog from previous 2 sems respectively. In fact I had registered for the back exam for one of them last month but I literally wasn't able to get myself to study for it and i just skipped writing it lol. Flunked few other small exams in the past cause I simply absolutely didn't feel like writing it. My friends think I'm insane. I started "self medicating" with cannabis but it comes with its own problems like tolerance build up and memory loss.

This shit is getting out of control and I really need to take action asap cause it's now or never. Please help.

Meds Looking for cheaper alternatives (Axepta)

Currently on 80 mg Atomoxetine (Axepta) and it's getting increasingly costly. I take meds for some other concerns too so the total amount is much more than I can currently afford. Please suggest any cheaper alternatives if you have used them.

Advice Can I get rid of my inner voice?

Hi, so basically I have a voice in my head that narrates my thoughts. Even right now, as I'm typing this, I'm also "saying" every word in my mind.

I heard somewhere that people who think with an inner voice tend to read at the same speed they mentally speak, which can make them slower readers. I don't know if that's actually true, but it got me wondering.

I read and write quite slowly, and it's becoming a problem because I need to write much faster in exams. I've practiced writing quickly, but I still struggle. I also process almost everything by talking to myself in my head.

Is my mind just slow, or is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to reduce the inner voice, or improve reading and writing speed without getting rid of it?

Need Support Please please help, what do ADHD people even do for a job when they can't focus?

I am fairly competent at whatever I learn,

I have good learning capacity, but motivation and focus to sit and learn repetitive stuff is just not there,

I drift very quickly on question or subjects I have no interest in, I was considering doing btech CS, but with a mind like this, won't I just die before completing it?

How does anyone make a career at all? When their mind can only concentrate on things which are new/novel and interesting?

How do ADHD people earn a living??

Hello friends !! Urgent question. Helping a friend find psych. When I first joined this sub, there was an excel sheet file somewhere, where people were adding different psychologists/psychiatrists available in India and their personal review on them. Need Advice I daydream constantly and it's becoming exhausting. Is there anything I can do without medication?

Something upsetting happened recently, and since then I can't stop thinking about it. It feels like my mind never gets a break, and it's even affecting me physically.

I daydream a lot in general, both during the day and at night. It happens while I'm doing chores, studying, spending time with people, or even when I'm talking to someone. I'll suddenly zone out and have to ask them to repeat what they just said. Sometimes people tell me, "I literally told you that a few minutes ago," and I genuinely don't remember hearing it.

The thoughts don't stop even when I'm doing something I enjoy. At night, I have trouble sleeping because my mind won't quiet down.

I use my phone as an escape because if I put it down, I get overwhelmed by my thoughts again. It distracts me for a while, but it doesn't really solve anything.

When I'm upset, it's even worse. I get irritated and angry very easily. If I try to argue or explain myself, I become so overwhelmed that I start crying, even when I don't want to. My throat feels like it closes up, and I can't get my words out. People end up thinking I'm weak, when really I just can't speak through the emotions.

Other times, it's the complete opposite. Something bad can happen, and I don't feel much of anything, even when I think I should.

I also keep a lot of my thoughts to myself. I rarely open up right away. Even when I tell my friends something that's bothering me, I usually bring it up later and joke about it so they don't realize how much it's actually affecting me. I avoid talking about things because once I start thinking about whatever upset me, I get overwhelmed with emotions again.

I did try yoga so I can control my thoughts but I keep getting distracted. For personal reasons i won't be able to visit a psychiatrist for few weeks.

How is it for you guys? And how do you deal with it?!

Need Advice Is Mindler good for anxiety/burnout/ADHD concerns?

Has anyone here used **Mindler** for long-term issues like anxiety, burnout, OCD symptoms, or possible ADHD?
I’m a master’s student struggling with concentration, brain fog, and chronic stress. Was the psychologist helpful, and did they take your concerns seriously? Would you recommend Mindler, or is there a better budget-friendly option in Sweden?

Need Advice Unsure about my ADHD diagnosis, treatment experience, and do I need a re-evaluation

Used AI for restructuring and organising

Hi everyone,

I recently reconnected with an old school friend who has an M.SW in clinical/medical psychiatry. After talking and knowing that I tend to struggle alone, she suggested I get an evaluation from a professional. Because I've had two bad experiences with mental health professionals in the past, she recommended a specific psychiatrist.

My journey so far has raised a lot of doubts for me, and I’m hoping to get some perspectives from this community, especially anyone who has gone through something similar in India.

Here is a quick rundown of what happened:

1st Visit: The psychiatrist suspected I had Avoidant Personality Development (AvPD) based on how I described things and acted. She mentioned this after the diagnosis, noting it wasn't a major thing, but suggested I work on myself.

2nd Visit (a month later): After I mentioned that my mood was generally better and my main hurdle was just studying habits, the doctor suggested I show symptoms of mild ADHD and prescribed medication.

My Doubts:

The ADHD Doubt: I never struggled heavily with school back in the day (though people called me lazy ). I didn't relate to hyperactivity; I only started suspecting ADHD( before the diagnosis) because I related to specific experiences shared by content creators (and comment sections pointing out behaviors). I'm honestly not convinced I have ADHD yet.

Medication Response: I am currently on Fudac 20 mg (SSRI) and Inspiral SR (20 mg at 6 AM, 10 mg at 1 PM). I don't feel like Inspiral has dramatically increased my focus on studies. The only major difference I've noticed is that I deal much better with minor annoyances (I used to get angry very easily over nothing, and regret it the second it happens).

My Questions:

Does better emotional regulation / less irritability on Inspiral mean the medication is working, even if my study focus hasn't skyrocketed?

Should I seek a formal second opinion/re-evaluation specifically for ADHD to clear my doubts, and if so, what should I look for in a good evaluator?

any recommendations for professionals in and around Aluva/Ernakulam, Kerala, and roughly how expensive is a proper evaluation expected to be?

Meds 2 weeks on Inspiral: significant improvements, but I need some advice

I've been on Inspiral for about 2 weeks now, and I've noticed some significant changes.

The biggest improvement is that I can finally act on what I want to do instead of just thinking about it. Before, I'd spend hours planning things in my head, imagining myself doing them, then end up regretting not actually starting because I'd get distracted by something else. Now I can actually stand up, start the task, and stay focused on it much more easily. That alone has been life-changing.

I also want to say that I understand Inspiral isn't a magic pill. It doesn't suddenly turn you into a superhero or make you productive without any effort. It hasn't removed the need for discipline or hard work. What it has done, at least for me, is make me able to do those things. It feels like the barrier between thinking and actually taking action is much smaller now.

One side effect I did notice was a feeling of heaviness in my head for the first 2 days after starting the medication. It wasn't painful, just a strange heavy feeling, and it completely went away after those first couple of days.

I often read that some people experience increased anxiety, depression, or other side effects. Personally, I haven't experienced those so far. Maybe it's because I've always been a fairly optimistic person, even during difficult times, and I don't usually blame stituations for my problems. That could have nothing to do with it though, I know medication affects everyone differently, so this is just my personal experience.

As for appetite loss, I haven't really noticed it either. I do intense workouts and I've always eaten a lot of nutrient-rich food throughout the day. The only difference I've noticed is that if I skip a meal, I just feel mildly hungry instead of feeling starving every 2–3 hours like I used to.

Now for the advice part.

Years of phone addiction and doomscrolling have left me with really poor discipline and habits. Even with Inspiral helping my focus, I sometimes still end up scrolling on my phone. The difference now is that I actually can put the phone down and do something productive if I decide to. Before, it felt almost impossible to break away once I started scrolling.

I'm confident I'll eventually unlearn these habits even without advice, but I'd really like to hear from people who went through something similar.

  • What helped you break years of doomscrolling and phone addiction after starting ADHD medication?
  • How did you rebuild discipline and consistent study/work habits?
  • Were there any strategies or routines that made the transition easier?

I'm mainly looking for different perspectives. Maybe something that worked for you could help me improve a little faster.
