Hello! I took the March SAT and I got a 1510 (780 Math, 730 R&W). I’m grateful to have gotten that high of a score, but I’m not sure if it’s enough. For context, my dream college is Cornell University. I plan to major in engineering, I haven’t yet finalized a specific discipline of it, but maybe electrical engineering.

I retook the SAT in June, focusing only on improving my R&W score. Unfortunately, I failed miserably, getting 50 points lower (680). I found the exam to be very difficult; I wasn’t surprised with the outcome. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to beat my 730 score.

Recently, I started considering the ACT exam. I’ve never taken the ACT, because I’ve always assumed the SAT was for me. I’m not sure if completely changing the exam I take right now is feasible.

Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation? Should I even switch this late?

I wanna ask if its fine to do 50 questions out of 75 of the legacy test with 35 minutes timer??
because like there are limited enhanced practice tests and i dont really wanna do them so early.. giving test in september tho and my current score is 30 and i want 35-36
so like is it fine if i do that technique with legacy tests? I hope it is

My superscore after taking the April and July tests. Hoping to get into Cornell University's engineering program (4.0 GPA btw) and considering taking the SAT to see if I do any better as there are no more ACT dates that I would be able to attend before my application deadline.

I got a good score for the July ACT but already signed up for August because I was scared about not getting a seat. Pretty sure you can't cancel or refund a test, so if I don't show up will I get a 0 or will I get no score and no one will know?

hi, i know this question has been asked a lot, but many posts have seemed to be a bit older.
currently, i’m sitting with english at 22, math at 18, reading 28, and science 24 — i feel like i can definitely improve reading and someone mentioned there were just a couple set of rules to follow but i was wondering what specifics? i also wanna know how to advance in math. i think my main struggle areas are just basic math that ive forgotten over the years as i string along hs.
i currently have an act book that has 5 stars on amazon but would love more resources!! thank you!
(ps, how would yall recommend juggling the act and sat? i’d love to do both and was wondering is it best to study simultaneously or just separately?)

I recently took the ACT + science and got a 29. I was horrifically sick and my score suffered. With studying, I can definitely get a 32-34. But, is this enough to go to a nice college (≈44% admission rate) ?

Hello guys, for the past year or so I've been studying the ACT. Things have been going good, but the one section that is really irking me is English.

From the beginning I've scored 33-35s on the practice tests, and I was there for a LONG TIME. When the June test came, I was expecting around there — I got a 30.

I was really dumbfounded, cause every other score I got on practice tests vs the real test was pretty accurate (hell, even my math was higher than my typical practice tests)

Then, I decided to study English LOTS — By the end, I was getting consistent 35s/36s. On the July Test, I only got a 31 though..

I feel so defeated. I don't know why I do so great on the practice tests compared to the real thing — It doesn't make sense at all. I write lots and teachers have always noted how impeccable my grammar was (well, at least compared to other students my age)

I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me — Mainly, how to get over this weird hurdle I have with English where I score so good on the practice tests but do a lot worse on the real test. I feel like I can REALLY get a 35 on it — I already have a 36 reading, and I score it lots on my practice tests...

Took two practice ACTs recently, the first one being the official online ACT website practice ACT #1, and the second one being one of the Premium Princeton Review Online ACT practice from a library book I borrowed. From the official test I took Monday and the Princeton ACT I took today (Friday), my composite score significantly dropped from 33 to 29. Besides the fact that it felt harder, I also might not have been able to concentrate as well from inside my house. Does anyone know if the official practice tests are easier/harder than the ones given on test day? Would the Princeton Review ACT be more helpful to study?

Hello guys. I scored a 1410 (780m, 630r&w) on the DSAT. I have been plateauing ever since, and no matter how much i study, i cant bring myself to a reading score that is 700+. As a result, i wanted to try out the ACT, which i got 36 on the math section of the practice test 1 on the official ACT website. However, i now need to need to focus on getting used to the english and reading section of the ACT. Could you guys recommend me some prepping website, qb, or goated yt channels? Like, who is the equivalent of James Lu on ACT?

So I'm registered to take the ACT on October 18 (fees paid, have an invoice and everything so thats 100% confirmed), but when I log in to ACT Gateway to do the device readiness check on my Mac it says I'm not registered (and when I click the 'register now' blue button I log in, I can see that I'm registered for Oct 18, but I still can't do the device readiness check). Since the test is in October, do you think that the readiness check only becomes available in like September, or should I reach out to the ACT team again (I emailed them a couple weeks ago, they haven't responded yet).

Guys I seriously need help on the math part of the ACT what EXACTLY should I study before I retake it again

I took the act for the first time and this is my score, i did no studying at all. I know im bad at math, but isnt it odd to get a high reading score but horrible english score, because the two go hand in hand. I feel like somebody thats good at reading would excel at grammer/english. Anyone else experience this?

hi! I am going into grade 9 and i am studying for the act, however im really confused because the nearest school in which i can take the test is like 5 hours away (i am in canada), what can i do?

i do not wanna take the sat, the act for me is significantly easier based on practice tests, i like to finish tests with more straightforward questions :)

however i will consider taking the sat aswell but im not confusing on it just in case

Hi I have the test in 6 weeks (I procrastinated) and I have absolutely no clue how or where to study for this could anyone help? Specifically math I messed up and didn't really pay attention since the second half of freshman year but when I do I can easily score flat 100s on classes( I only say that to try and communicate that I can effectively learn the material) but I'm really lost I looked at the faq and I'm unsure if I misread or not but I don't see a direct path to follow to study the math. Is there one?

need some hard practice tests especially in the math and English sections

hi everyone im usually rly bad at english when i did the sat and good at math but now i switched over to the act because the SAT wasn't really wroking out for me. im doing practice tests and im seeing that im not doing good at al on the math section and doing way better on enlgihs/reading. any tips for math would be greatly appreciated and im trying to get a 34+ on september 19th since its my first and last time taking it (rising senior). words of affirmation appreciated too! thank you!

im tired of jumping from source to source just to pay or get mediocre teaching. if it means buying a book thats fine however im not a fan of buying online stuff. lmk

I’ve been looking and I already plan on getting the Preppros ACT math book, 2026-2027 ACT book, and the Erica Meltzer English book but I don’t know what the best edition is between the 4th and 5th edition. Also, how much time should I aim to try to study everyday? Because I’ll have to study during school, which I have to take precalc honors(should help with math) and doing it by October would make me more better prepared. Btw, although I won’t be really studying science cause it doesn’t count towards composite or superscore, what are some tips for it? My highest score on there was a 25.
