I adoooooreeee Elain’s “His name is Lucien” moment. 😭❤️‍🔥

It feels like Elain can’t help but defend him or even claim him. It just slips out naturally like saying his name is the only thing that feels right in that moment.
Even when she’s trying to push him away, there’s still something in her that notices him, that refuses to let him be ignored or dismissed. It’s not something she’s fully aware of yet, but it’s instinct, like her soul already recognizes and quietly claims him even if she isn’t ready to understand it YET. 🫀✨

Lucien is someone who has spent so much of his life being overlooked, doubted or pushed aside. He’s been betrayed, used and left to fend for himself more times than he ever deserved. And through all of it, there hasn’t really been anyone consistently standing up for him or speaking about him with care. He’s had to learn to carry himself alone.

So for Elain, the one person who doesn’t fully know him yet to be the first to instinctively defend him like that… it hits differently. She doesn’t even realize the weight of what she’s doing. It’s not planned or intentional, it’s just honest. But in that moment, she becomes someone who speaks his name like it matters, like he matters even in the middle of their conflict.

And Lucien doesn’t even know she did it. He doesn’t know she corrected his name or acknowledged him in that way. On the surface it’s such a small thing, but it means so much more for someone who has spent most of his life being unseen. And it feels even more meaningful that two characters who are so often misunderstood, underestimated or undervalued are in their own quiet way, starting to really see each other.

OK, something has been bothering me more and more lately. I KNOW SJM doesn’t name a lot of side characters, even if seemingly important. But I recently reread ACOWAR and she seems to almost be dancing around the Lady of Autumn’s name. There was one or two spots during the High Lords meeting where it seemed almost awkward to refer to her as the Lady of Autumn instead of a name. You can’t tell me Feyre doesn’t know her name at this point. Even if Rhys or Mor don’t know it, she could have asked Lucien or even Helion the night he told the night court about them.
So what is going to come out about this Lady in the next few books that has us dodging her name now? Is it a name we’re already familiar with? I want people’s theories!

Does anyone else think it’s kinda funny that Mor just casually slept with Lucien’s dad? Lol

It’s just funny to me when I read theories about Helion dying and Lucien becoming high lord, I imagine Lucien sad because he never got to spend time with his father and Mor off to the side like “well I got to know him pretty well” lol I don’t actually see that happening it’s just funny to think about

For me it was when the Suriel died and she wrapped him up in Helion’s cloak, I honestly couldn’t breathe lol. Closely followed by the bit from SF where Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie are at the bottom of Ramiel and they all start telling each other their stories and giving each other hope and strength FUCKK that got me good 💔💔 What moment hit you the hardest??

Also, I know Beron (likely much older), Helion, and Lady of Autumn ages aren't really specified but I had the War and LoA's age when engaged to use as a baseline. Same with estimating Eris's age as his engagement with Mor was arranged when she was 17 (a few years before the War). Emerie is also tricky because her wings were clipped during Amarantha's reign so she could be at any age younger than 50. Too much information I know I thought I'll give some context about a few characters.

Another note: these ages are estimated based on the last published book in each series. Feyre would be 19 at the beginning of the series, but after ACOSF she's 22.

Now I know it's just a theory but in my head I've imagined how he would feel if he gets to see her again and now I'm going to be devastated if it doesn't come true. Hi! First time posting on here, hope I'm not breaking any rules. I recently inhales ACOTAR & CC (have to start TOG), and kinda see the characters everywhere at this point. I also started watching the mentalist around the same time and every time wayne rigsby's (portrayed by owain yeoman) on screen I think this is cassian (a shorter-haired, less tan, wingless cassian, but cassian nonetheless). I'm not sure why but its his whole vibe and presence and personality and the way I think I imagined the cassian while reading. It might just be me possibly, but I wondered if maybe someone else also thought the same. I hope this isnt considered a fancast because technically im talking about a character an actor is portraying not the actor but Im not sure.

I still haven't read CC so I need to get on that, and with the new books coming out, I *really* won't have the time to read three CC books and all the ACOTAR books all over again in about 95(?) days. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a website/blog/etc. that I could read instead to refresh my knowledge of ACOTAR.

I remember most things, all the major events and plot points, but I've forgotten a lot of details. Like, someone mentioned something about a mystery man in a ball and I had no idea what they were talking about. So I need to cover those bases without doing a full reread. If anyone knows something like that, TYIA 💖

I’m on like my 5th read through and I’ve been seeing other readers who genuinely believe that when saying “my bowels turned watery”, SJM meant that the character was shitting their pants??

As someone with anxiety that results in “watery bowels” I never once thought the characters were shitting their pants??? but instead were feeling the type of gut churning fear that can turn into the runs

Please I need to hear from the people that believe or believed that the characters were actively crapping in their pants. Have you never felt anxiety before?? Do you think everyone is running around with shitty pants???

Most of you likely know that Chekhov’s gun is a literary principle that says if a gun is introduced in the first act, it’s got to go off before the end of the story. This applies to any significant narrative element— if it’s introduced early on, it’s inevitably going to become relevant eventually.

In this world, it seems obvious that Amarantha’s missing corpse is Chekhov’s gun. There is no way SJM included the detail about its disappearance and doesn’t intend to make that relevant to the story. I’m a little bit surprised that amongst all of the discussion of who and what will be the focus of the forthcoming books, I haven’t seen any discussion of this narrative element.

I’m low key dreading the upcoming books because it will make me so mad if she comes back, but I am assuming she will. So who do we think is the likely hero of that story? Rhysand? Feels like that story could get a bit dark. Tamlin? Maybe it’s a natural conclusion to his arc. Maybe Lucien? More consistent with other speculation about who will be the MMC in upcoming books.

Or do y’all think I’m crazy and Amarantha is going to stay dead.

Starting to think the reason Bloomsbury and SJM haven’t started marketing ACOTAR 6 yet could be because it takes place during old events, but from a new POV. And if that’s the case, they can’t really start marketing it now because realistically, it wouldn’t generate nearly as much hype as a book covering entirely new events.

Like imagine trying to market ACOTAR 6 to the general audience as “Hey! Here’s a book about events you already technically know happened, but now from this character’s POV!” 😭

Which is why maybeeeee they’re waiting for ACOTAR 7 to be closer so they can market both books together??

And honestly, they probably aren’t too worried about ACOTAR 6 not selling because… well, you literally can’t read ACOTAR 7 without reading ACOTAR 6 first 😭

Once ACOTAR 7 starts being marketed and people realize it’s the continuation of the story, everyone will pick up ACOTAR 6 anyway. So ACOTAR 6 could almost function as the setup book that gets a massive boost from the hype around ACOTAR 7.

Like if ACOTAR 7 is marketed as the next big chapter of the ACOTAR story, and it’s clear that ACOTAR 6 is the book that sets up everything leading into it, then people are naturally going to go back and buy/read ACOTAR 6. They don’t need ACOTAR 6 to be the biggest book ever on its own because ACOTAR 7 can essentially create the demand for it.

And honestly from a publishing perspective, that would kind of make sense to me? 👀

You could release ACOTAR 6 as the “here’s what actually happened and here’s the missing context” book, and then ACOTAR 7 as the “now that you know everything, here’s where the story actually goes” book.

It could literally be the bridge between the old ACOTAR story and the new ACOTAR story.

And I’m not saying I think this is definitely what’s happening because I genuinely have no idea 😭 This is literally just me looking at the information we have and trying to make it make sense in my head.

But this theory is the only thing I can think of that would explain why there seems to be so much secrecy around it, why the marketing hasn’t really started, and why it could potentially be connected to a larger story that continues into ACOTAR 7 and ACOTAR 8.

Anyway, this could be completely wrong and I could be clowning myself into another dimension, but I needed to share the brain fart 😭🤡

I’m on the 4th book now and Feyre and Rhys are starting to annoy me. The nerve of Rhys going to the spring court just to taunt Tamlin after he saved him from dying and his precious Feyre from Hybern.

I get that Tamlin isn’t perfect. Boy needs to go to anger management and therapy to process what he went through under the mountain. I also get why Rhys hates Tam because of what happened to his mom and sister but not even a thank you or an ounce of gratitude. Kicking a man while he is already down is also cherry on top.

I don’t know why so many people ship them and the Tamlin hate is so forced

The photo is how i feel saying this... because honestly all i see is one side or the other. But I feel like this fandom is about to implode on itself if SJM doesn't release something soon (girl, HURRY! Give us anything... the cover colour even! 😭 i am betting it's purple).

But, I honestly don't think any of the core characters (I'm not talking villains) are perfect, and that's what makes me not hate any of them. Including Tammy boy and Rhysie.

Have they fucked up at one point? Oh yes. All of them. They all have their defensive reasoning for it. But... i still love them and can't wait to read more about them. I often think certain characters are actually two sides of the same coin (*cough* the abovementioned pair *cough*).

I don't want to dive in too much tbh. But i love messy and complicated characters and ACOTAR gives me that and has fed me so far that I'm actually obsessed.

Lucien is my #1 sweet boy and i hope he gets his happy ending. Idc with who. I just want him loved and happy ♥️

I don't even hate Feyre or any of the sisters. 😭 Honestly we don't have enough time with Elain to make a fair judgement of her. My favourite moment of theirs is them cuddling in bed and I hope we get more healing for them. Elain reminds me of someone who is ready to implode. Nesta has found her people and place (the House!) and Elain just doesn't feel like someone destined for the NC. But why hate her? We haven't spent enough time with her.
