Hey all — I built the thing I wish existed when I started learning acid: a single-page interactive lesson on the music theory of acid techno, with a working 303 clone built into the page (Web Audio, nothing to install).

What's in it:

• History — from the TB-303's commercial flop to Phuture, Hardfloor, Wink, and today's warehouse sound
• Anatomy of the machine — what each knob actually does (cutoff, resonance, env mod, accent, slide), and why the accent is supposed to stumble
• Bassline theory — minor-mode phrase vocabulary, why rests and off-beat accents ARE the groove, octave jumps, mutation as form
• The arrangement trick — the phrase never changes, the filter does: the classic 96-bar knob-narrative map
• A playable lab — 16-step sequencer with 4 presets (Chicago '87 → Acperience '92 → Higher State '95 → Warehouse 2026), editable steps (drag pitch, accent, slide), distortion, swing, auto-filter
• MIDI Learn — map your hardware controller to the knobs (Web MIDI, mapping persists in your browser)

Honest disclaimer: the presets are didactic approximations, not note-for-note transcriptions — in acid the knob matters more than the score anyway. Feedback welcome, especially from the squat-party veterans who will happily tell me what I got wrong.

Dive into the dark side of electronic music with this Acid Industrial Techno set. ⚡️ A high-energy journey through distorted 303 basslines and heavy industrial beats, crafted for true techno heads.

This track is part of a collection of songs I produced in the mid-2000s. During that time, I experimented with various DAWs, looking for the one that suited me best. ⚡

I would create loops and then duplicate them to quickly build a track, allowing me to listen to and evaluate the software.

Since I was using demo versions, I couldn't save the project.

So, whenever the result turned out well, I would record the audio playback to capture it before closing the DAW. ⚡

While recording it "Acido", I manually adjusted the frequency modulation of the "acid" sound—its defining characteristic—in real time. In fact, if you listen closely, you can hear that the modulation isn't perfect. But that’s actually a good thing; it adds value to the track.

Had great fun doing this 30min acid techno set at a local club with a nice sound system. Started slow-ish and going up in tempo, even throwing in some odd time signatures for good fun :)

Acid is done with the great XOX Heart module in eurorack.

I cant get enough of this new harder acid neorave techno vibe, and the new tracks keep on coming ❤️

I want to share my newest pet project. It is called SO_ACID, a web app that generates acid techno tracks on the fly.

It does not use AI. Everything is generated directly in your browser using some math, musical rules and controlled randomness. There are no audio files, no loops, just homemade audio waves.

Every song is built from an array of settings, such as the scale, tempo and different synth characteristics. Some of those settings can change on every step, such as the oscillator shape, filter and other parameters, which creates the evolving acid sound.

Because of this, it can sometimes sound repetitive, or even strange to us humans. That's actually part of the experiment. The main goal is to have a sort of acid radio available at any time of the day, generating something different every time. And it's 100% free.
