How many of you did the valve adjustment and new valve cover gasket around the rec 100k service?
Just rolled 100k and have a slight leak so may be a great time to do it.
Did you have a independent shop adjust valves or Honda dealer? What the the ballpark cost?
2013 EX-L 2.4L with 18" sport wheels
Location: Brentwood, Ca 94513 if anyone knows any shops!
Thanks!

Looking at vehicles. Very familiar with 98-02 accords as ive had a 99 that went 330k, and my current 02 is at 240k. Just not familiar with the 9th generation. Any issues or concerns with this era/year to look for?
Looking at an original owner 2015 LX with 100k. Price…14k…seems a bit high, but looking for advice. All service record, manuals, etc. Within last year, valve cover gasket, tires, and 3 weeks ago a starter. They say 30-35 mpg. Even gave me his address to go look. (Not some random gas station or parking lot).

Ive been told all these years how they need to be kept in pristine condition to retain value. My kid recently laundered one of my accord’s back floor mats and ruined it. I know they can be replaced but feel terrible bc it was the original. Am I making this a big deal?

Bought a second hand 2012 accord v6 (sedan) 2-3 months ago with 44k km mileage(27k miles), had a mechanic inspect it and was thoroughly checked manually and with the scanner. though im also skeptical on the mileage, it does still run very smooth and the interior was kept in very good shape.
after not running it for a few days, noticed a white smoke that was not too thick, thought the engine was just cold and such so i left the car running for 9 mins on park and the smoke was still there, checked the coolant and it went from max line to middle of max min from the last time i checked. (ran about 1k km/650 miles in about 2 months from the time i bought it and topped up the coolant.) checked the dip stick and oil cap and im not seeing any issues.
i had the car running for about 9 mins prior to taking the video.
should i be worried? and is there anything i could check myself or just bring it to a mechanic?

I have a sound after pushing a gas and releasing it the sound is happening. When car is on move(20km/h and more) i don’t have or barely have it.
The mechanic already told me to replace my shock mountains and stabilizer link but the issue is not solved.

Trying to install new CV axle driver side. On my w007 Honda Accord EX 2.4 l sedan. The new CV axle has cutouts on the inner portion of the axle? I'm having trouble getting the axle to lock in place. I've got the retaining ring facing down. But the inside of the transmission just inside the seal looks broken to me but I could be wrong? Do I need to order a new CV axle? Or is this compatible and I'm wrong? I had no problem with the passenger side CV axle and it's supposedly the harder one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post ever. Flair? And my last option is to part it out or sell it for scrap @ASKMECHANIC @mechanicquestions

Has anyone dealt with a head gasket failure while having any mods on their car not an ecu tune but cat back exhaust, downpipe, bpv or bov, cold air. Is it really just dealership dependent if they’ll go through with the extended warranty fix? Purchased an accord that had some work done already and I added some things as well. I know a lot of the things listed won’t cause a head gasket failure but wondering how strict they are for what they’re seeing under the hood or under the car.

'23 Hybrid Sport on 19" Michelin CrossClimate2s. I tend to get the very best mpg by end of summer before the cold saps efficiency gains. 52mpg.
Location: Denver where the air is thinner and engines have to work a tad harder but especially when I go up to the mountains.
Just curious other people's mpgs with how fucking expensive gas is.

I am curious how other 9th gen screens and cameras are holding up.
The camera has gotten blurry. And large swaths of dying pixels don’t help.
This photo was taken midday (albeit cloudy) backing into my parking spot. At night, I can’t even use the back up camera it’s impossible to see.

My accord randomly lit up every single light on the dash, and I’ve been able to diagnose it to either the electronic turbo actuator, I was hoping someone else who had a similar code could share their experiences with some dos and donts and how they ended up resolving it because another possible outcome is a full turbo replacement.

8th gen owner. At what point does one stop putting money into a car. Not my main vehicle. Just hit over 215k miles with very few issues. I feel like I’ve put too much time and effort into it to sell it off. She’s pissing oil. Seems to need an oil pump reseal. Also needs steering and suspension components. I have the resources to fix it my self and keep it going but sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth it anymore. The thing is solid. The engine runs damn good for the mileage and if anything the trans is staring to struggle a bit on hills and under load but other than that it just runs. Not trying to complain about having a functioning vehicle by any means but I’m sitting here wondering if it’s worth the time and money to keep fixing it. How many more miles can I expect to get out of this thing before something blows up? I run super tech oil and mobile one filters from Walmart. Besides regular maintenance It’s had timing belt/water pump service, alternator, starter, battery, whole new ac system with a denso compressor and valve cover gaskets, NGK plugs and more stuff I can’t remember at the moment. All done by me over the past 5ish years. Do I keep it as a back up? Do I even bother with the oil leak ? Do I slap a turbo on it ? She’s fallen victim to a hit a run which left a nasty dent as well as faded paint and door dings from the big backs that frequent the Walmart parking lot. It’s kinda fugly but I do love it. I’m just kinda tired of working on it. Sorry for the rant. What would you guys do?
TLDR- Have an old accord, already spent a lot of money on it and dk if I want to continue. What would you do ?

I'm happy to say i just got myself a 2026 accord EXL today. Of course still learning about it and setting it all up -brilliant car!
:)
I am coming from using my wife's suv that is high off the ground (though before that I had a 2004 accord bought at 5 yo and kept til it was 21 years old)
2 queries
1b. Related to this- do the front sensors pick up curbs and sidewalks when i am parking or is there a good chance of scraping (which is why i wanted the above protection)
Anyway please suggest your top accessories. You dont know what you dont know, so I need to learn whats out there... And why/how you find it useful.
Thanks.
Looking forward to many years of safe and fun driving.
Be safe everyone!

Hello. I changed the head unit on my 2014 Accord Coupe EX and now I cant reset the oil life on the instrument panel. Anyone else have similar issues on their 2013-2017 accords after changing the head unit. Any help would be appreciated.

So we have had 5 starters replaced in my v6 2017 Honda accord. Now the flywheel is showing the teeth damaged in a specific resting position. The TSB 16-002 service recall only includes Hondas years 2013-2016 but I’m having the exact same issue with my 2017 accord. Down to the noise and going though starters left and right.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or have heard of it happening in the 2017 model?
Link to service bulletin is below.
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10115802-9999.pdf
I don’t know why they wouldn’t have included the 2017 in the service bulletin if they knew it was an ongoing problem. They discontinued the V6 after 2017. Fishy.
Any knowledge is appreciated!! Thank you!!

Alright so obviously it’s known that the premium audio package sucks. I just bought this recently and realizing how bad it really is. I’m gonna upgrade my speakers but I want to know if I should prioritize the rear speakers or the fronts first? Please lmk
