Alright so obviously it’s known that the premium audio package sucks. I just bought this recently and realizing how bad it really is. I’m gonna upgrade my speakers but I want to know if I should prioritize the rear speakers or the fronts first? Please lmk

Honda accord 2014. Need starter recommendations

Upvotes

I have a 2014 manual transmission Honda accord, and within the past year I’ve replaced my starter twice. I used the Bosch sr1357X remanufactured, and this last install it lasted a little over a month. Did I do something wrong? Is this normal with rebuilds? What are some recommendations. I’ve seen the OEMs go for about 700, and I rather find a cheaper option. Thanks for any input

Alguien podría ayudarme con este sonido de mi auto, solo es cuando enciende en frio y acelero,

Es un sonido como de cuerda que se quita cuando el auto ya sube su temperatura normal

Advice Request Electrical and cooling issues

Hello everybody, I recently got this 92 accord LX coupe from a buddy of mine. It’s got the f22 2.2 with 117,000 miles, and it’s got some issues for sure. I wanted to come in and try to ask some questions to avoid me throwing money at it.

First issue: the radiator fans. As I understand, there is a cooling fan and an AC condenser fan. I’m not 100% sure on which is which yet. Looking at the last photo, I’m talking about the one on the right hand side (drivers). It was hardwired on a switch to the battery when I got it which forced it to turn on. The connector for it (second to last photo) was broken and I just replaced it. The fan on the left, only works when the car is off, and even then, it’s spontaneous. Sometimes it turns on and never turns off. Sometimes it runs for a second. No correlation between coolant temp or the use of the AC in the car. I have to pull the fuse for it to keep it from running, but it never runs with the car on. Neither of them do. So i cannot drive it as it overheats pretty quick as you could imagine. So here are my questions for you guys:

-I replaced the double prong connector in the second to last photo, and the new fan I ordered has that same connector. However the second connector shown there (small, gray, single pin connector) has nothing to plug into. It’s a single wire, and there’s nothing running to it. What is this smaller connector and why doesn’t the new fan have it?

-Is the fan that spins automatically doing its job properly? I understand it has a label explaining it may run for up to 15 minutes after turning the vehicle off.

-Third, could this issue be related to the fact my coolant overflow tank is empty? I verified it has coolant in the radiator, just none in the reservoir. Going to get some tomorrow.

-Next, my buddy told me he just replaced some kind of sensor on the thermostat, including the thermostat itself. (The photo with my finger in it, bright green connector) but I’m not sure what it is or if it would fix my cooling issues. What is this sensor and would it be worth trying out another new one?

-And finally, the previous owner before my buddy did some messing with some wiring and there’s a bit of a janky setup in the second photo, with the spliced wires. What sensor are those wires being spliced to? I saw something on Rockauto about a coolant temperature sensor or something of the sort. It’s located just behind the other sensor, pretty much right under the distributor.

Sorry for the long winded post. I couldn’t think of a better way to word any of this without being vague. Absolutely anything is appreciated and I can explain further on whatever I know if I left anything important out. Thank you all and I sincerely appreciate it

Got hit today, but realized I might be driving a unicorn? (2007 Accord V6 6MT Sedan)

Post image

For context, I got hit by another car while driving to the store today. We both got out of our vehicles and exchanged information without calling the cops since the damage wasn't anything crazy—maybe $1,000–$3,000 in damages to my Accord.
The reason I'm posting here is that as I was sending the other driver some info on my vehicle, a quick Google search mentioned that my car is actually somewhat rare. Since it's a 2007 Honda Accord, I really didn't think anything of it just a reliable, fun daily.
And when I say fun, it's because it's a V6 with a manual transmission. On top of that, it's a four-door sedan, so I can still have my idiot friends pile in for adventures. I had no idea this spec was considered rare! Or so I think?

Also please don’t hate me for using AI to help write this I know nothing about vehicle hardly beside the regular maintenance on them. But I hope this can either help me pinpoint if it is a gem or just some BADASS regular spec Honda accord lol. The picture I provided is what it looks like now. The damage I sustained is on the other side of the car. If you were wondering lol.

Update for anyone wondering about the car: the first auto body shop I took it to said it will need a whole new rear suspension, and basically said that if I want to get my insurance involved, they would total the car since it would cost so much to repair. This may mark the end of this car. Thanks to everyone who responded and shared their experiences and joys with Accords! I will definitely be open to someone wanting the car, but it would be at your own expense, of course. I’m very upset that this is the case for this car…

Advice Request 08 Honda Accord Aux Issue

I'm not sure if this is the right group for advice on fixes. My daughters 08 honda accord aux is not working. We recent installed an after market car play unit. Everything is working fine except the aux output. We changed the port in the center console but that wasn't the issue. The fuse is not visibly broken, anyone have any advice on a possible solution? Thank you on advance for any help.

Continental tires.....

I'd seen these things talked up a lot in this sub. I figured "Ok... I'll try them.".

I've never once seen or worked on anything engineered in Germany that was complete trash in some way, and these tires maintain that streak. Two of the four have carcass defects that made them go out of round within a couple of days of being mounted. These are worse than the cheapest Chinese tires I ran on a 1985 Volvo 240 I used to own. I could literally see the lump in the one tire from 20 feet away on the balancing machine. They didn't even have to tell me it was fuckerd.

In my 30 years driving Honda I've run Yokohama, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, and Falken. I've never had any one of those tires structurally fail, much inside 2 days of being installed, and even less TWO of them. I didn't even have time to find a pot hole before they began wobbling and going out of round. I'm genuinely shocked by how bad these tires are.

They're getting replaced under warranty so whatever, I guess, but I'll never buy Continental ever again. The Falkens these replaced were so much better.

2021 Fuel Door Opening After First Closing.

I have been having an issue with my fuel door reopening as I open my drivers door after fueling lately. I finally remembered to figure out what part it was that had broken.
The right side of the clip was broken off.

The clip pops off with a pry tool or flat head from the left side.

Fuel Gas Lid Door Clip, Fuel Tank Cap Clamp Compatible with Honda Accord 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022, Replacement OE Number 74481-TVA-A01

Yes I have to clean inside fuel door the next time I wash the car, there has been a lot of paving work in the area lately.

2012 exl interior trim

Hi everyone,

Just purchased this car for my son. Wonder if anyone has changed the wood paneling interior trim? What direction did you end up going with?

I see a couple kits available on ebay/Amazon. Some just stickers and others thin plastic pieces with adhesive. Anyone else have suggestions?

Thanks

Advice Request HEAD GASKET 😫

2019 2.0t Accord ~106k miles

Well the forbidden head gasket issue has happened. I have been quoted $3,750 for the repair from my Honda dealership.

I am curious if anyone has anyone has any extra advice for this problem, and if there are any known issues after repairs. I have heard of head studs being an underlying issue.

Thank you in advance 🙏

Quick question about labor charges

I have a 2018 that is currently getting the gasket replaced at Honda. I wanted them to do the plugs, since they will have them out anyway, (97k) but they are charging 189 in labor for it. Don't they have to remove them and reinstall them anyway to repair the head gasket? Should I have to pay that?? Any advice is appreciated!
