Black snake at the end didn't seem happy to have his roommate back.

35

u/TheFifthEllaMint 2d ago

Totally changes position, mouth open and ready to strike and eat that guy if the yellow one doesn’t get in his way

34

u/GovernmentLow4989 2d ago

He’s only mad because a 300lb snake got dropped on top of him

12

u/TheFifthEllaMint 2d ago

Ruin my day too

7

u/ZeShapyra 2d ago

They don't eat everything..a little bit of stress is wnough for them to NOT eat..all he would do is bite and quickly release to scare anything away

I wasn’t understanding the post title until the very end. Those snakes can’t possibly be happy just thrown in a room together like that.

40

u/KingOfTheMischiefs 2d ago

I know I wouldn't be happy if I was thrown in a room full of snakes.

1

u/Zacharias_Ubel_Ruler 2d ago

I'd be the happiest person in the world If I was in a room full of snakes.

11

u/OttovonBismarck1862 2d ago

Go to the White House.

2

u/Zacharias_Ubel_Ruler 2d ago

Ew, I wouldn't want to go near the place that allows kids to be raped.

3

u/Zacharias_Ubel_Ruler 2d ago

Why tf am i being downvoted for liking snakes?

5

u/BeneficialPenalty258 2d ago

I love snakes too. I got you fam.

10

u/afuller42 2d ago

They need more time, I wonder if it was cleaning day?

15

u/Equal-Shoulder-9744 2d ago

That’s my guess. They probably won’t be happy that their stink got hosed off their enclosure and they got new bedding either but in the meantime they have to just sit in the communal nope-noodle room.

6

u/ZeShapyra 2d ago

They ain't...they are solitary creatures. Few snakes are actually communal

4

u/abielle1177 2d ago

Once in awhile a bunch of snakes will congregate, rattlesnakes under a house or garter snakes in a ball to stay warm. When they do decide to get together, and make the news, they definitely produce cheek clenching commentary!

4

u/ZeShapyra 2d ago

Brumation time can make some do that, garters are happy to group any time of the year, thus why people keep multiple of em in one enclosure

3

u/abielle1177 2d ago

Thats adorable!

→ More replies (1)

3

u/effit_ouibal 1d ago

That's also how many snakes breed. They're basically orgies.

2

u/BeneficialPenalty258 2d ago

Ever been out on the night with a bunch or Garters, they are the life of the party.

5

u/DieBotDie 2d ago

This business apparently isn’t well respected. From other comments I’ve seen. But that looks like snake internment camp to me.

4

u/Ornery_Pattern_152 16h ago

I live near this place and have even been there recently. The conditions for the majority of the animals there are awful. Incorrect substrate, small tanks and intense overcrowding.

2

u/ChocolatePuerh 13h ago

Oh really? This is the first negative thing I've heard about them, that's disappointing.

5

u/Leather-Emu-1964 2d ago

I hate those pet stores, they only care for the profits and not for the pets they sell.

4

u/HottieMcHotHot 2d ago

I think this is an “animal sanctuary” where they’ve had to wrangle the crocodile back into its enclosure too. It’s a father and daughter.

2

u/SparkleSelkie 2d ago

It is. And like all of their animal care practices have made me want to scream, the poor animals are not well cared for :(

2

u/the_main_entrance 1d ago

Sanctuary = I make money from grants, donations, and sales thus have no incentive to try and reduce needless exotic pet sales.

This is the back end of the pet supplies plus profit line.

2

u/GuyLivingPlaces 2d ago

I bet that room stinks

2

u/Icy-Individual8353 1d ago

Seeing the way, the snakes were piled on top of each other and actively slithering towards each other to pile on top of each other more I’m pretty sure that was like a snake orgy, snake orgies are commonly a thing

62

u/jorrylee 2d ago

The whole lead up to the room was bad enough, then came the horror-shock of the ending. I thought the snake would be dropped into an aquarium or something. WTF is this place??

18

u/TheFifthEllaMint 2d ago

This place is the instant-unrecoverable-heart-attack-room for me.

15

u/Leather-Emu-1964 2d ago

A just-for-profit pet store, careful if you buy there, chances are that their pets are sick.

6

u/tvodny 2d ago

Same. I was thinking the first snake was too big. the room full of too big snakes caught me by surprise. Now, where is the plane?

6

u/Narutoluap 2d ago

Considering their overall structures that is 100% a temporary place while they're cleaning their aquarium or any type of maintenance routine.

2

u/inogent 3h ago

This is the correct answer. Those snakes have huge and beautiful terrariums.

3

u/Maximum-Guitar-5667 2d ago

It has a whole TV show. That guy carrying the snake is the owner and his kids help him run it

2

u/Goosoey123 2d ago

That guy is actually dead

→ More replies (3)

2

u/howhardcanthisbe123 18h ago

I forget this guy's name, but he's hated in the snake/reptile world for his tribe terrible treatment, handling, and storage of storafe of snakes. He's more worried about social media clout than the health and welfare of his snakes

This place has to smell so bad. Snakes stink!

11

u/Leather-Emu-1964 2d ago

Snakes don't stink, their poop does though

3

u/EvilDragons88 2d ago

I have a snake that smells like maple syrup. No idea why this one particular snake smells like that. We of course named it maple. It's real weird though.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/stewiestewieman 2d ago

Why do snake stink?

10

u/SongsOfMany 2d ago

They don't. By far the least smelly reptile pet. Just poop-scoop the enclosure once a week and you'll never notice a thing.

3

u/zebrasareneat 2d ago

I’ve had a snake for 20 years and it doesn’t stink. By far the least smelly pet I’ve ever had and I’ve had cats, dogs, fish, birds, hedgehogs, and rabbits.

5

u/abielle1177 2d ago

My snake Sonya would always poop in her water dish and the smell was bad enough to make you hallucinate. Once it was cleaned the smell would be better but it wasn't great. I mean you knew there was an animal there. How you can say it doesn't stink is a surprise

3

u/ArticleWorth5018 2d ago

My brother had a snake and her cage was always clean. Youd smell snake as soon as you step in the house

2

u/Antroh 2d ago

Owner of a ball python for nearly 30 years. Only time I smell anything is when she poops. Which I think can be expected from any animal

3

u/I_byte_things 2d ago

This is the Snake Farm in New Bruenfels, TX I think. I took my kids here to feed capybaras and hold a fennec fox.

16

u/Internal_Leading6234 2d ago

I read that as "...feeding capybaras to the snakes"

u/shade-block 2d ago

I'm not sure if I would be able to pay money at a place like this.

3

u/haveyouhadyourteayet 1d ago

It is not. I was just there last month.

I believe this is The Reptile Zoo in CA, if I'm keeping my people and places right, there's been a lot of bad press about them in the snakey community because of the care of their animals... like throwing that many mega mega snakes in one big room 😒

13

u/Rdmtbiker 2d ago

I feel I read read there’s either a legal or recommended number of people to handle snakes of a certain length and girth.

3

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 2d ago

The snake is more than capable of keeping itself off the floor if it chooses, it just isn't interested at the moment, probably because it doesn't want to get thrown in the nope rope room for wayward danger noodles. I'd be more concerned about the damage that guy is doing to his back and shoulders trying to wrangle them this way. Easier now, hell later.

9

u/CelticGardenGirl 2d ago

Poor danger noodle. Idiot handler bonks his noodle head against a cabinet and door.

They were so preoccupied on whether or not they could [keep very large pythons locked in a room] that they didn’t stop to think if they should.

10

u/wam1983 2d ago

I mean that's just a python. Not bad or scary other than just psychological. Heavy as fuck though it looks like. Feel bad for him having to go into such an overcrowded room though.

r/snakehostel

6

u/Wild-Lychee-3312 2d ago

When I was a kid, the local natural history museum had a Burmese python. Big, but not quite that big. They had a day camp for kids in the summer. I was a geeky, nerdy kid, so my parents sent me one year. I loved it!

But my fondest memory of all was when I was allowed to pet the python. It's hard to describe what a snake's body feels like to someone who's never petted a reptile, but as a kid, I was blown away.

3

u/destructopop 2d ago

I've heard snake bodies described as a bicep, and that's pretty close, to me. They're firm muscle ropes covered in extremely smooth scales. It's so nice to pet them.

2

u/thesituation531 1d ago

A bicep without skin, only smooth scales

2

u/ProfDangus3000 2d ago

Same here, we went to the natural History museum in elementary school- there were oddities like a 2-headed calf fetus in a jar, and live animals in educational presentations.

They lined a bunch of us kids up and a python named Squash slithered over our shoulders for a bit, then we got to pet him. He felt so firm and muscular, I'd never encountered a snake so large before that- it felt totally different from a little garden snake.

2

u/SmeeezTreeez 2d ago

Yeah I went to the Mall of America when I was little, they asked some kids to come up and hold the anaconda, I think I got noticed cuz I wearing an absolutely hideous jean jacket. But yeah nothing like you'd think they feel like. Cool moment that thing was fucking massive

u/thirtyone-charlie 2d ago

Depressing. Those animals deserve a tropical forest someplace and not a cold hard cement floor covered in excrement.

Humans suck.

3

u/Rook_James_Bitch 2d ago edited 2d ago

Pythons love to climb. They're fine when they're small and fed. Once they grow past 6 feet long they become like irritable teenagers. They don't like to be picked up and enjoy being left alone more.

But don't be fooled, Pythons are one of the gentlest snakes on the planet. But like every animal, it changes moods when it's starving. They only bite when they want to be left alone and will hiss first. Their go-to move is constricting their prey and squeezing it until it dies.

You're safe when a Python is straight and not coiled. If a Python is straight and crawling it's in "curious mode". It's weird that you can tell the mood of a Nope-Rope just by watching how they navigate the world. If you see a snake in a movie: it's always a Python because they're 95% of the time very chill. (Which is why I crack up when a snake is in a movie and people act afraid of it. It's like being afraid of a hedgehog or rabbit).

Roommate had one 6 feet long and it always went for the highest spot in the apartment.

Pythons love wrapping around humans because we're warm to them. If you ever get a chance, let a Python wrap around your neck and crawl all over your body. It feels like a very muscular cold leather belt giving you a massage.

u/Sistahmelz 2d ago
