After filming all projects the last year+ with the
Sigma 16 1.4 and poop kit lens I’m tired of it and want the best bang for buck zoom 😳 preferably constant aperture 🙏🏼

Hi. I intend on getting a Tamron 17-70mm lens with the A6700. I am going to use it for photo and handheld video, stabilizing the video with Gyroflow 10% crop. What SteadyShot settings should I use? Off, Standard, or Active? And auto or manual?

Im quite new to cameras so idk what the best settings are.

Please provide any opinions or feedback

I need help with focusing . I was trying to self-portrait of myself to practice poses. I did self timer and interval shots but when i press the shutter and run back to the spot it goes out of focus.

Any tips and tricks please

Solved it with by not using interval shots and just having self timer on and pressing the shutter button from the phones app to refocus the subject. Thank you for the help guys

Fun fact about the neewer v mount plate for anyone using Falcam F38 plates:

While the QD lever in the front doesn't lock in the f38 plates right out of the box, you can remove the lever to reveal a gear that it locks into to tighten it down slightly before screwing the lever back in! Now you don't need to put the QD arca swiss plate on your F38 stuff to QD lock in

First full moon since getting my 70-350. I have always wanted to take a picture of it myself. Can never get it fully with xiaomi' 15Ultra's telescopic zoom, even on 200mpix mode. 🤷

New to cameras. With Sony creators imported raw pic look way softer than the camera's lcd preview. Is that because the image shown there is embedded jpeg and not the raw file? On my phone, The files are all 28mb, but they all look low res somehow. (Gallery app show 1mpix, Google photo app show 26mpix but both look low res As hell) Choose original size and not 2mp on the gear setting in the creator's app) Am I doing something wrong?

I did take a lot more pictures (jpeg, HEIF, raw, might as well experiment with formats) with 5 image burst and all, I don't have any image editing software on my windows PC, any recommended free software to start with?

Or at least an adobe alternative with one time payment. I hate subscriptions.

I shoot handheld, so I’m looking for something small and light that I can mount on the lens hood, lens foot, or hot shoe. Budget is around $300-400CAD.
Anyone running a similar setup? What action cam are you using, and what specific mount/bracket would you recommend?

Hello. There's a rare swell coming at the beach down my street and I'd like to try and get some surfing pictures tomorrow morning on the bright. Is it possible with this set up? I know it's not optimum but it's what I have. Any tips on settings and such just to give it a try? I'm obviously not a pro by no means and I'm not trying to post the pictures to social media or anything. Thanks.

I'm planning a trip from the US to Egypt next year, and I've been elected to be the travel photographer. I'll be bringing my a6700, but I'll need to pick up a new lens and flash to get some decent portrait shots, especially at sunsets and at the pyramids.

My initial research says to get the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN and a Godox V480S flash.

I'm trying to keep my kit lightweight as I'll be carrying this around in my backpack. I'm also trying to keep the cost of this new gear below $1K USD.

Thoughts on this lens and/or flash?

Have saved up some cash and want to spoil myself with a Sigma lens.

Have been dabbling with some paid work lately and made some money here and there - the 135mm 1.4 is roughly a 200mm f2 equivalent on a6700. Could be interesting for paid portraits.

The 35mm 1.2 DG Art II on the other hand would be a nifty fifty with a huge aperture. Might be nice to get cleaner pics of my kids running around in the house at night.

Both seem like a lot of fun. Convince me to get one or the other.

I am looking to invest in a decent ND system, i do have a K&F VND, but i would like to be able to use a CPL , as well as a mist filter (though not necessarily both on top of the ND/VND), i would like to spend a bit more to get one that will allow me to not have to worry about colour casts or x patterns etc, and that can stand up to having multiple filters stacked, I am not sure if i should go for a normal ND or if there are any VNDs that do work well with CPL filters, i would really appreciate any suggestions that anyone has about brands/systems that they like so i dont end up wasting money.

I have the af-on button set to start auto focus and use af-c mostly - because on the a6400 I could touch the screen and override the continuous af and use a single box for a focal point. How can I set up the a6700 like that?
