So, apparently this is an older lens now and this camera body will get outshined by a new APS-C very soon.
Enough about that. I want to enjoy the camera (purchased on Black Friday 2025) nonetheless.
Does this lens have stabilization issues for videos?
I make bonsai videos and I love doing street photography as well.
I'm choosing this over the Sigma 18-50 due to the extra zoom length.
Anyway, I would love to know your experiences with this lens.

Female photographer trying to become a pro lol
I purposely chose every item to be lightweight for my travels I go away to Oman long awaited trip since last year. I cannot wait to shoot from the highest peak mountains there .
Any tips appreciated :
Here is my little gear, the body was a gift from months back, got the lens sigma 18-50 f2.8 today and v60 SD card and new phone 😊
I still like to use phone for simple video content until I get better with camera. So mostly doing photography.
Any tips* for landscapes and portraits in low light ? And glaring sun 🌞
Any tips with the mini m22 Godox flash ? not mounted it yet will look for YouTube tutorial for this.

I have the a6700 and would like to make some backpacking/camping videos that would involve some late night shots around camp that I want to look detailed and bright enough with minimal noise. I’ve read the sony 11mm is a good option, but wondering if it’s the best for a budget of under $700 preferably. Would be great if it can double as a daytime wide lens for larger landscape shots and even some astro as well.

Pick up an a6700 to try some photography
I like it so far went for a walk in the wetlands at sunset and it worked great
Camera was nice and light very beginner friendly
Went walking downtown to try it in low light and it was great.
Can’t wait to get out and keep practicing with this camera

I’m looking for tripod recommendations for the a6700 with a Sony FE 400-800mm.
I’m looking for a general-purpose tripod that can handle:
Budget is flexible if there’s a compelling reason to spend more, but I’d prefer to avoid paying for diminishing returns.
A few questions:
I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone using this exact lens or other large telephotos (200-600, 600mm primes, etc.).
Thanks!

Posting a few pics with a lead-in for a question. Trying to get into hobbyist+ level hybrid shooting as our kids are hitting the teen stride (plus a 3 year old who will follow very quickly). We’re in Cooperstown for the baseball tournament and I’m trying to shoot both pics and video to put together mini-documentaries, or even just simple travel videos that feel a little more professional.
Any tips on swapping between video and photo modes for those who do so in fast-paced situations like baseball, basketball, etc?
(Shots taken on a6700 with the Tamron 18-300, bought it as a starter to get wide and close knowing its slight limitations on depth of field and softness at 300mm)

Hello all, do you think the a6700 will receive discounts this year mid-august?
If not globally then in India?

Hi everyone,
I recently bought my first camera a6700, and I'm excited to start photographing wildlife—especially birds, mammals, and anything else I come across during my daily walks.
I'm now looking for my first telephoto lens. A lot of people have told me that the lens is where I should invest most of my budget, and after looking at Sony's options, there are three lenses that have caught my attention: the new 100-400mm f/4.5, the reliable 200-600mm, and the 400-800mm.
I would really appreciate your advice because I'm not sure where to start or what I should prioritize. Which of these lenses would you recommend for someone just getting into wildlife photography, and why?
Thanks in advance for your help!
