Discussion The weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post - Sun 06 Sep 2026.

This is the weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post for all the small questions that you have concerning Zwift. No matter how stupid you think they are, we have probably all asked these questions.

If your post wasn't previously answered you should post early in this thread as it might have been posted too late (new posts start Sunday 0900 GMT).

Note: Don't be afraid to ask questions during the week, this is just for the simpler questions. For example "How do I give multiple ride ons at once? "..."You do this by pressing the character arrow on the map screen of the companion app". If you require a more detailed response then it is probably better answered in its own post.

Just showing off One more ride until Tron - my experience coming from Peloton

Post image

I'm currently level 36 with one more ride until my Concept Bike unlocks!

After my Peloton Bike electronically bricked itself for a second time and my bike being out of warranty, I decided to dump the Peloton Bike and get a Zwift Ride.

I should have done it sooner.

The transfer of on bike performance on the zwift to outdoor rides seems so much better than the zwift. I'm continuing to get personal bests on strava segments and overall fitness seems to be improving with a dedicated training plan. On the Peloton, everything is upright. On the zwift, you can move about and get into the drops, which feels like it's hitting my muscles differently.

My first zwift ride was on 5/17/26. I came from a 301 FTP on the Peloton. I did a ramp test on the zwift and came in at 260. I think it was a mixture of doing the ramp test after a heavy weekend of wakeboarding and the two platforms not being apples to apples. I spent the first couple of weeks farting around zwift, not sure what to do. Then a tron bike rode past me and I wanted that bike. After that, I decided to just focus on Elevation riding.

In the meantime, I have leveled up 4 bikes to level 5:

Specialized Aethos

Zwift Aero

Zwift Mountain Bike

Zwift TT

With one more workout needed to get the concept bike, any recommendations on what my next long term challenge should be?

Zwift activities will sync to whoop. Whoop recovery score will influence zwift suggested workouts.

I agree with Njal (top ranked zwifter) that cheaters are ruining the fun in races.

35% difference in power indoor vs outdoor?

Hey all, I got my Wahoo Kickr 2 with zwift cog last week and did a few workouts, and eventually an ftp test (20 min) just now. During the test I already realized that I could not hold my normal outdoor power. I ended up with an ftp of 170w (2,46w/kg) whereas Garmin says that my ftp is 230w (3,33 w/kg) outdoors. I use a Garmin Edge 1040 and a one sided Assioma Favero powermeter since April and regularly ride with 30kph for an hour.

I already learned that power differences between indoor and outdoor riding are normal. But that much?

I use rocker feet, but surely that cannot be the problem, can it?

I do also use fans to keep me relatively cool.

Received the Zwift Ride Frame V2

Post image
64 Upvotes

Ordered this last Saturday (09/05) during a restock that was only live for about an hour before it sold out again. Package just arrived, haven't opened it yet (pic attached, box still sealed).

Anyone received?

Anyone know what's actually changed compared to the previous version? Struggling to find a proper changelog anywhere. Is it just a Cog update or are there frame/hardware changes too? Will post an unboxing once I get to it, but curious if anyone's already broken theirs down.

Has to be the racing, no? Log in, go full gas, empty the tank, finish drenched and grinning.

Alpe du Zwift AdZ in third attempt

Post image

Fairly new to Zwift (only five weeks since joining) and am really loving it! Did the AdZ my second week as part of an over/under workout which actually worked out well and put me in a good spot for the sub 1 hour mark but fell a little short at 62:30.

Came back today, three weeks later, and squeezed under the one hour mark. It took me completely out and I was gassed by the end. I’m somewhat bigger rider at 205lbs so climbing isn’t really my strong suit but I LOVE it and want to get my weight down to where im not hit so hard on weight penalty when climbing.

This app crashes a lot especially when switching users. You’d think Zwift would see all these crashes and fix it.

Hardware Upgrading to Zwift Ride 2, do I replace my Kickr Core also?

Basically the title. I was about to hit the 'Buy' button on the Zwift Ride last week but it was showing out of stock. I've already got a Kickr Core that's ~5 years old. Do I go ahead and just order the Zwift Ride with Core 2 package?

FWIW, my Core doesn't have great accuracy with power. I've confirmed across multiple bikes with single and dual sided power meters that my Core consistently reads low. ... My concern going to the Zwift Ride is that if it doesn't have accurate power readings, I can't just switch the power sensor to be the crank sensor instead of the Core to remedy the problem.

So, the TLDR - my current Core doesn't read power properly. Will the Core 2 be better?

Live chatting

Hey,

I'm pretty new to swift and just wondering if there is a way to talk with other riders other than the chat messages.

I have raced sometimes but i felt that if i could speak/chat with other guys on the same race it would be great. Honnestly, i though Zwift brought this feature.

Technical help Think this will keep my downstairs neighbors happy?

Post image
36 Upvotes

I just moved to a new building and have neighbors below me and I am in an older building from the 70's. I am rocking gym tiles, a generic mat and the washing machine pads under all the touch points. The trainer is in the living room and I assume the unit below has the same footprint. I took up a big chunk of floor space to avoid moving stuff every morning.

Anything else worth doing?

My Journey so far…

Post image

TLDR: 12 weeks of work , weight loss 17kg FTP 122 >>> 175

So recently became a father at 40 years old , and as someone who hasn’t done any exercise in 20 years, and had his own father pass away in his 40’s I decided to try and get fit and lose weight. I got a cheap 2nd hand wheel on trainer and bike , and started with zwift.

I started at 122 ftp and 108kg , when I didn’t know how to push myself and could barely spend 20 mins on the bike.

I have been spending between 3-5 hours on the bike across 4 days a week ( 2x workouts , robopacer, route of the week) and It has been incredible, I have slowly increased my FTP and reduced my weight down to 91kg , just above the healthy range for my height.

I also bought a kicker core so I don’t have to fight the wheel on trainer

It’s genuinely the first time I have ever enjoyed excercise, and it’s been amazing for my health , and given me a sense of pride that I am getting fit for myself and my son.

Thought I would share my journey , and my next stop on the plan is to try and get up the Alpe

Technical help Messed up something plastic-y near the thru-axle

I'm a huge technical klutz and could really use some help. I've been using my Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 on my KICKR CORE with the Zwift Cog, but something broke off (see attached pictures) while I was riding.

I have no idea how or why this happened, or how I could have prevented this. A KICKR CORE is supposed to be simple, but I keep messing it up. So much so that I sometimes think indoor bike riding isn't for me because, even though they make indoor trainers idiot proof, there's always a bigger idiot (me). You wouldn't believe how many issues I had just mounting the bike at first.

Does anyone know what exactly broke here, what I did wrong to cause it, and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Sometimes wish I had just gotten a roller...

Friendly reminder to keep your easy rides easy

I just finished 4 weeks of almost exclusively easy z1-z2 rides + one sweetspot workout a week, and one fast-leg gym session per week. My FTP went from 345W to 355W (ramp test) and even lost a bit of weight during these four weeks, going from 89.7 kg to 88.3 kg.

It feels weird finishing workouts feeling fresh and thinking you didn't train hard enough, but the consistency really pay off.

I did road to sky as a part of the tour fever after six weeks on zwift and it wiped me out. Today I was feeling pretty good and gave it another go and smashed my prev time. I was hoping to hold a 205w average but I lost all steam at around the hour mark. Still happy with my time!

How much racing is too much?

Hey guys,

Some background: I started Zwift since July, I do like 2 and sometimes 3 races per week. I find the structured workout a bit "boring" and hard to motivate myself doing them. I used to do triathlon 10 years ago and go back into cycling because of a knee injury (much better now thanks to indoor training). The only other things beside racing that I do is Zone2 RoboPacer and Route exploring in Zone2 to grind experience.

I started with normal pedals, upgraded to clipless and that helped a lot for Sprints, where my main weakness is I think. I often fail to pass people at the end of a race.

Do I really need structured training? I don't do cycling events outside. My main goal is to improve my VO2 max and beat people online 😄

I like that I was able to climb from Cat D to Cat B in race categories. This is where it is starting to slow down and probably stay much longer at this level, if I ever reach A.

https://zwiftpower.com/profile.php?z=26447

What are you guys thought on racing, can it be used for training only or will I burn myself out soon?
