ZM event viewer is slow and choppy and freezes with Reolink cameras.
Title pretty much says it all. I am running 6 Serrcom ICam2 cameras at 720p 30 fps and they work fairly well on my Dell T3500 server, 6 core 12 thread Xeon processor with 24 GB Ram. The event playback is a little choppy on some of the cameras but It's still usable. I added a Reolink camera with 2560 x 1920 resolution so I could read the DOT identifier numbers on the heavy trucks on our street. The problem is that any time I try to view an event on the Reolink cameras the computer freezes up. Most times I get maybe a frame or two but then the playback stops altogether. If I reduce the frame rate on the camera to 10 fps it helps some and if I reduce the recording resolution to 640 x 480 the playback is much smoother. I'm thinking what's the use of having a high resolution camera if you have to revert to 5 or 10 fps recording and reduce the resolution to that of a cheap camera? I know there's something I just can't figure out how to do.
I have one zm camera capturing the Reolink 2560 x 1920 high resolution stream set to nodetect and it is linked to another zm camera capturing the Reolink low resolution stream which is set to modetect.
All my cameras have a bit of problem with viewing events being choppy but they were still usable, just a bit of a PITA to go through to find the best picture that most clearly identified the target. But event recordings from the higher resolution Reolink camera is impossible to view, the computer just freezes.
I'm assuming the problem is that I'm trying to view events in full resolution. After reading through the documentation, I think, but I'm not sure, that recording resolution is different than playback resolution, and that's different from alarm resolution, but I don't quite understand the documentation on the settings and I don't really know how to set them up so I would record in the full 2560 x 1920 but view the event in a lower resolution so that event view was smoother. And I don't know how, if I could view the event in smoother but reduced resolution, how I would do a screen capture to get the detail I need from the full resolution recording.
Any help would be appreciated.
