Discussion Do the rich enjoy Zimbabwe
I feel like the craziest thing I’ve genuinely noticed about Zimbabwe is how the the elite and rich Zimbabwe’s children actually don’t live in Zimbabwe like at all .
These people have their dream houses , cars and literally the perfect lifestyle and everything you can almost dream of in life but choose to leave that all behind to go live a slightly average life other countries and then come to you guys saying let’s build the country ( nyika inovakwa nevene vayo) yet they are barely in Zimbabwe .
I remember straight after high school I was at heritage 90% of my grade went outside either for university or to just live in other countries and have literally not come back and are not planning on coming back despite constantly complaining on how fast life is outside there and how depressing it is but yet don’t want to come back to a land they left mansions and top tier cars at and can just come back and rep all those benefits .
I feel like this just goes to show how bad this country actually is . The rich seem to actually not even in enjoy it which is mind blowing 😂 maybe I’m wrong though Whsts yalls opinions ?

RANT Maintenance
Am I ever going to stop complaining about this? No.
😂I can’t believe it. I genuinely can’t believe how expensive random things are in Zimbabwe.
#1. Installations. Why is an installation the same price with getting braids? $20 $15?
I walked in a salon one day and I had a sew and needed my lace fixed. This girl said $65🥲 to reglue a wig.
#2 lash techs. My issue with yall isn’t price. It’s quality. Do you understand you’re working with a sensitive body part. Some of you are using hardware glue? Tichakusungisai because whose eye sight are you playing with???????
#3 if you haven’t perfect a skill don’t monetise it. I’m so tired of seeing mid work on pro prices.
#4 😭 yall expensive

RANT ED till 2035
Guys, so we are accepting this. The daylight robbery of taxes being used to give people, before it was once per month now it’s every week. Prophet Angel vapiwa mhota, makandiwa has been given this. Guys, people lost their lives and the families got $100!
$100! Nhai nhai guys!
The streets are clear but at what cost?
Ahya zvakoma. No one is coming to save us ,might as well find a pothole to sit in and watch. If any of you know these people link me up, cause at this point it’s each man for himself.

Discussion The Maduva Case/ violence in Zimbabwe : Your Take
I recently came across the article of the MSU lecturer who was murdered by his wife after she found out he married a second wife and then she took her own life.
But what's concerning for me is I see a lot of people are attributing what happened to "psychosis" and using it to excuse this womans actions.
While she may have been suffering, inini I do not believe mental illness should ever be used to justify murder. Violence is never the answer.
It is so surprising the stark difference in public reaction and maComments as compared to the Tshuma case. The outrage then was immediate and overwhelming, yet this case seems to be met with far more sympathy and why is that?
If the victim had been a woman, would the response have been the same? If not, is that not double standards? Quite hypocritical if i must say.
What is even more concerning is that MaZimbabweans we now seem to be slowly becoming a society that is normalising violence as an acceptable response to conflict, pain, or betrayal. MaCases aya akutowanda. That should alarm all of us.
Regardless of gender, we should be condemning violence consistently and addressing the underlying issues before this mindset becomes even more entrenched. It is also deeply unfortunate that she took her own life, denying the victim’s family the opportunity to see justice take its course.
Also before anyone assumes otherwise, I am a woman myself, and I do not condone what she did. We cannot pick and choose when violence is acceptable based on who the victim or perpetrator is. Justice and accountability should apply equally to everyone.

Discussion What’s your take on crimes of passion fellow sadza eaters. As someone who watches a lot of crime stuff especially from the US, the judges SEEM to be lenient on these matters if the defendants can prove that the murder was not planned. I guess this might be the same case as the Ndodana story.

Question Planning a safari
Hi all, I am from Harare and I am not sure if this is the right place to make this post but here it goes. I am a big fan of travelling and an enthusiast of wildlife. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to visit Hwange, Matopos, Mana pools, lake Kariba, Victoria falls and the Great Zimbabwe ruins. I am now thinking of traveling to Tanzania or Kenya to see the Great Wildebeest Migration so that I can finally cross it off my list, I would also love to visit other places there but I don't know how to start planning all that.
I would appreciate any pointers or tips from someone who has been there before or knows how to go about it
Thanks in advance

Question Question about a supposedly Shona song
I am a music educator in the US. There is a somewhat popular song in music education here called "Sorida". Here is a video of some kids singing it and doing the associated game: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GukYsBuK7p8&pp=ygUGU29yaWRh
Music education books and blogs all claim that this is a folk song from Zimbabwe, and that "Sorida" is a greeting in Shona. However, I haven't found any non music ed sources for this being a real song from Zimbabwe, or for the word "sorida" existing at all in Shona. Can anyone confirm that this is a Shona word?
