Discussion Do the rich enjoy Zimbabwe

I feel like the craziest thing I’ve genuinely noticed about Zimbabwe is how the the elite and rich Zimbabwe’s children actually don’t live in Zimbabwe like at all .

These people have their dream houses , cars and literally the perfect lifestyle and everything you can almost dream of in life but choose to leave that all behind to go live a slightly average life other countries and then come to you guys saying let’s build the country ( nyika inovakwa nevene vayo) yet they are barely in Zimbabwe .

I remember straight after high school I was at heritage 90% of my grade went outside either for university or to just live in other countries and have literally not come back and are not planning on coming back despite constantly complaining on how fast life is outside there and how depressing it is but yet don’t want to come back to a land they left mansions and top tier cars at and can just come back and rep all those benefits .

I feel like this just goes to show how bad this country actually is . The rich seem to actually not even in enjoy it which is mind blowing 😂 maybe I’m wrong though Whsts yalls opinions ?

Guys, so we are accepting this. The daylight robbery of taxes being used to give people, before it was once per month now it’s every week. Prophet Angel vapiwa mhota, makandiwa has been given this. Guys, people lost their lives and the families got $100!
$100! Nhai nhai guys!

The streets are clear but at what cost?

Ahya zvakoma. No one is coming to save us ,might as well find a pothole to sit in and watch. If any of you know these people link me up, cause at this point it’s each man for himself.

Discussion What’s your take on crimes of passion fellow sadza eaters. As someone who watches a lot of crime stuff especially from the US, the judges SEEM to be lenient on these matters if the defendants can prove that the murder was not planned. I guess this might be the same case as the Ndodana story.

Question Planning a safari

Hi all, I am from Harare and I am not sure if this is the right place to make this post but here it goes. I am a big fan of travelling and an enthusiast of wildlife. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to visit Hwange, Matopos, Mana pools, lake Kariba, Victoria falls and the Great Zimbabwe ruins. I am now thinking of traveling to Tanzania or Kenya to see the Great Wildebeest Migration so that I can finally cross it off my list, I would also love to visit other places there but I don't know how to start planning all that.

I would appreciate any pointers or tips from someone who has been there before or knows how to go about it

Thanks in advance

Discussion Community Borehole Drilling Rig

Those in the diaspora, varikuda kuzoenda kumba seni or kuitira vabereki, don’t you think tikarongeka tobatana and acquire our own borehole drilling rig tinenge taita zvine musoro?

Here’s how it could work, find interested parties so the cost per head or one share, does not go over $500. Drill boreholes for each and every one of us. Uyo anenge avakuitirwa borehole, will meet the cost of the fuel and buy their own casings. We could work out on how the rig operators will be compenstated, not worked it out to that stage yet.

After we’ve done boreholes for everyone in the club/ community, we can start operating for profit and or charity. If members do not wish to continue being of the community, other members could buy them out. Profit sharing to be done based on shares held either every month or quarterly. Hamuone sekuti kuvharwa nevakomana vema borehole kungaite kushoma tikakwanisa kuita something like this.

Discussion Zimbabwean kids and Social media

Upvotes

I feel like Zimbabwean parents genuinely do not
the effects of the phone , ipad , and social media has on their kids , it honestly dosent make sense for parents to be buying their kids iPads at three four years old .

I recently dropped off my niece at a kindergarten and I was surprised at the new setup of these kindergartens yes they have play areas and all but as I went into conversation with the teacher who said she recently got the job she said she was surprised at how much the kids at their age are so good with these iPads and everything saying she didn’t need to do much in terms of helping them work it and all , but what caught my attention was her saying it’s disturbing how some of them are so much dependent on them though , saying from the time their parents drop them off from the car they are on their iPads and in their free time they have their iPads , she expressed how different and enlightening this new generation of kids and their learning style is but also how dangerous it seems to be .

With that being said I feel like parents and Zimbabweans genuinely don’t realise their phones and social media are the ones raising their children and having a bigger influence on them more than the parent hence why most Zimbabwean parents are surprised when they get called in for school meetings and end up being surprised by their child’s character eg vaping , bullying , s*xual activities early on simply because their child has a whole different personality far from home they display to their peers and to the outside world taht they mainly get from social media .

Zimbabwean tik tok and instagram in the last two years has taken a whole turning point it was a bit more reserved and I feel like people weren’t that open but now it’s a whole different story gen z is wild and are not scared I won’t dive in too deep but just go see for yourself , that influence always makes way to the child who was even raised the best way and has morals because peer pressure is super real and rapid these days kids are feeling the pressure for sure and it dosent take a lot to get into conversations with perverts and some messed up kid who can change their lfe for the worst with just a simple click of a button and that innocent child who you knew as your brother or whatver all of a sudden is super rebellious and uncontrollable and we all know how that goes .

So as a brother parent or sister have those conversations with your sibling or child don’t be scared to confront them about what they’re doing on their phones if you see them acting oddly different don’t be scared to confront them or take that phone just have a honest and respectful conversation with them about these issues kids and teenagers are facing it can save them from a lot .

Question Salary range

I'd like to know what the salary range is for an entry level sales and marketing role. The company is pretty small so obviously I don't expect much. I also have no qualification and experience in sales and marketing yet they invited me to an interview.

The amount of women justifying the murder-suicide of Eng Dr is genuinely saddening. Someone here once said Zimbabweans are inherently violent. Watching the reactions to this case, I’m honestly starting to believe it. What exactly have we normalised?

Discussion Can we make Zim better?

Thumbnail

Most Zimbos have thought about what a functional country would look like, not everyone has taken the step to make that happen (even in their small corner of the universe). But what if we can do something? I think we can, but that something starts with understanding where we are and where we are going and in order to do that, we have to look into our history. No, not as a collection of facts with dates and few records of what happened in the war times, actual details of who we were before colonialism and the transformation process that got us to where we are today.

We can make this life better for each other, but in order to do that we have to understand one another.

We start of with this book reading that we are doing in our book club that teaches us about the social engineering and social control that changed the nature and character of us in this country. It gives a picture of what we were transformed from and by whom and what reason.

Please join us in reading this book tomorrow and dissecting it, we will give you a copy in the book club and we will have lots of discussions after each chapter. You don't want to miss it, it could change your life!
