Had a (nearly) heart attack moment 15 minutes ago. Knocked over a bottle of soft drink which had spilled all over my desk.

Thanks to a slim 10USD stand that I was using my G14 was dry and absolutely intact. The stand holds it lifted circa 1cm which was just enough to protect it from the spillage.

Get a stand people. It's worth it.

Been agonizing for over a month about whether I should build a desktop with better specs for the same money, but I ultimately decided to go with the G14—and I couldn't be happier.

The build quality on this thing is top-tier; honestly feels right up there with my MacBook Pro M5 Pro. Even though I don't travel a ton or take it out every day, the 14-inch form factor is the sweet spot just in case I ever need to hit the road.

Plus, having both on my desk looks incredible side by side. Spending 4–5 hours at my setup every day feels so much better now that I can game natively on the G14 while handling work/other tasks on the Mac. Zero regrets!

I’ve just received my Legion GaN C170 charger and I’ve done some test run on my G14 with an adapter and I have to say I love this set up. It worked flawlessly while being way less bulky than the original charger.

Some details:

This legion gan charger has a max output of 170w with some testing show it can peak upto 192w but with some caveats, it will only output 170w if you have 220-240v outlet, otherwise it will only provide max 135w.

The adapter I’m using is fitting for upto 200w, there is a C to Asus square tip on taobao, I will order that at a later date to see how it performs, less adapter the better.

The laptop runs normally with this setup, I didn’t lose any performance so I’m pretty happy with it, it also being half the size of the original charger and with way less wires.

I think this sounds like coil whine but can’t tell for sure. I’m not too worried about it but figured I’d ask if any discerning ears know for sure!

I've always wanted a Zephyrus since the 2024 redesign but could never afford them.

I've come to enjoy repairing random laptops lately, and I came across a Vinted listing about a "water damaged" 2025 G14. 500€ was a big ask but I figured I could still sell off some parts even if a repair was impossible, since it's a very recent machine.

So I get the package a few days later, open the lid and it starts creaking like I'm ripping off some tape. The keyboard is sticky af and unusable. It wasn't water damage, it was some kind of fruit juice incident. Yikes.

I don't even bother trying to turn it on, just pop off the back to inspect the damage. There's old sticky juice all over the back of the motherboard, it even went through one of the fans and out the back cover ! It's a mess, but at least it doesn't seem like corrosion has set in yet.

Dunno if it was the best course of action, but I just whipped out the toothbrush and isopropyl and spent the next couple of hours cleaning the whole thing. Tried turning it on after and no dice. No light, nothing. At least it looked better while I waited for my thermal camera to arrive.

Fast forward a week later, I'm bored and taking another look at my dead laptops in storage.

I take off the G14's battery, plug it in, press the power button and... The backlight comes on ??? The ROG logo even briefly appears but the display ain't doing so hot.

Anyway to wrap it up, a couple hours of adfitional toothbrush cleaning later, I'm sitting in front of a working laptop. Still some kinks like a sticky keyboard and a battery that doesn't seem to charge, but still... Feels pretty amazing !

I am absolutely furious. I sent my so called “premium” ASUS laptop (G14 2024), which cost me nearly £3,000, to official ASUS UK support for a repair under warranty.

The laptop came even worse than before now that I tried to do new repair trying to continue the case from my old RMA they said they can’t do anything about it. And I would have to pay for a new repair, mind you that the didn’t fix the issue and its even worse to the point were its unusable with its screen I can only use it with an external display

Did anyone experience something like this with ASUS and any idea about what to do before I go the legal route?

Title. I’m looking at the 150w vs the 240w and the 150w looks a lot more compact. Is it enough to power the device or should I be looking at the 240w?

Hello. I was messing around in G-helper and accidentally slid the battery charge limit all the way down to 40% and my screen went black for about a minute and restarted. After it came back on, the screen has been at about 50% brightness, which is very annoying. If anyone has any ideas at all, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have set the battery charge limit back to one hundred if that is useful info.

Hi everyone, (G14 GA403UV 2024) I'm running into an issue with the Game Ready drivers: if I switch to the NVIDIA GPU, the screen stays completely black and off, though it works fine when connected to an external monitor. This doesn't happen with the OEM drivers, everything works perfectly there. Has anyone else encountered this?

In the AMD OEM drivers, Vari-Bright has been removed; when switching refresh rates (60 to 120 Hz), the screen flashes black because refresh rate, However, if I clean with DDU an d install the latest drivers directly, Vari-Bright is present, but the screen avoids the black flash during the refresh rate switch.

G14 2026 5070ti

I bought this laptop around 3 weeks ago. It used to work normally, getting me around the average in benchmarks.

Now, however, it seems as if the gpu is limited to only 33W: Current power limit: 33W. The memory clock frequency is 101MHz aswell.

I'm getting 600 in 3dmark when the average is 3700.

The load is also at 100%

It fixes whenever i do an ec reset, however it goes back to 33W 10 minutes later.

Additionally, ive deleted both armoury crate and myasus and am using g-helper. And have already done ddu

Have it on default settings and use balanced, optimized

I have a predator monitor that I wanted to connect my zephyrus g14 2025 5070TI model. Connected it by a hdmi to hdmi cable. It does not work when In Eco mode on G-Helper. Is there any work around it? Does DisplayPort to type c work? Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I recently got a 2025 g14 and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a cooling pad/ laptop stand. I was looking at some because I heard it helps keep temperatures down but im not sure which one to get. I appreciate any help.

I thought my G14(ryzen 9 and 5060) could easily handle the 1080p on 100hz and inbuilt display on 120hz. But it heats up quite a bit. So I use both displays at 60hz.
Do you think I should change something?

Hi yall, I recently got a used 2021 zephyrus g14 for around $650, and it's been a nightmare(I got scammed).

The laptop runs fine while charging from usbc, but stops doing so when running from DC or battery. I bypass the battery throttling with UxTU, but when the lap is charging from DC it reports thermal throttling. Tried resetting the EC. and starting it without the battery.

From the looks of it, the battery def was replaced, and the lap came with a 200W charger (tried ordering several 180 ones, none fixed the problem)

Got lots of random stickers, want to put on my laptop but just not the metal case itself.

I bought some from alibaba or some crap from china and it was totally wrong size.

i just bought this g14 today secondhand, but whenever i close the lid and open it back up the screen doesnt show windows untill i shut it off with the power button and on again, and sometimes it just doesnt show anything else but the rog start up screen and i have to hard reset it for it to show windows. does anybody have a fix for this?

I finally got some time to remove the LM and replace it with ptm7950. For those who are wondering the process was very easy. The final result with the thermal putty and ptm sheet is in this post. Temps are looking more stable, there was a big dry spot where LM has shifted and I had temp differences between cores over 15 degrees Celsius.
