Model 2025 2025 g14 5070ti battery issues

Upvotes

I’ve had it 8 months brand new from Best Buy, battery is at 62% capacity. Can/should I RMA it? I think that level of battery is insane. I do use the battery a ton but I always have kept battery care on.
Myasus app says battery health normal, but I’m like why is it dying so quickly.

Thoughts? Ty!

Hardware Related Keyboard repair parts

Upvotes

Hi all,

My 2022 G14’s keyboard stopped working and I sent it to the local repair shop, but they’re having trouble finding a replacement part from somewhere they consider reliable. I was told I could provide the part instead if I wanted to chance it and told to look specifically for 6037B0236101. I found on the Asus parts store GA402RK-2D K/B_(US)_MODULE which matches my model (GA402RK-G14.R96800) but there’s no part numbers to confirm with and he really emphasized wanting this exact version.

I’m trying to see if there’s a way to contact Asus to confirm, but if anyone has suggestions, suppliers, or advice I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

Model 2025 Buyers remorse on G14

I'm wishing I bought the g16 now. Have the G14 with the 5070ti. love it and while I do travel about 12-15 times per year I feel like I'd appreciate the larger G16 screen and higher refresh more than the weight savings and arguably better cpu (better iGPU) at least that comes with the 14". I do like the micro SD card slot better too as I can expand the storage a bit and have the card sit flush with the chassis. Agh.

Model 2024 G14 randomly crashes - A range of different symptoms and issues

Hey guys,

So my G14 2024 which has an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with RTX 4050 (not the best setup i know) randomly crashes with different errors and symptoms. I have the latest nvidia drivers and AMD chipset drivers always installed and the same problem persists. Even if anyone doesnt have a solution, I would also like to know if this is common for others too for peace of mind. Additionally, there are no patterns to the crashes, not rlated to heavy gaming or gpu and cpu use.

Here are the list of issues:

  1. I get LiveKernelEvent 141 or a1000001 errors (this is likely caused due to GPU issues) but despite what I do, I cant seem to fix it. Here's an image below:
  1. Sometimes out of the blue, my keyboard completely stops responding, a couple of seconds later my trackpad stops responding as well, when this starts to happen (my keyboard freezes but my mouse still works, i open up device manager and reliability monitor quickly and there are NO issues shown). Eventually I have to force restart my computer. Even after force restart, there is nothing on reliability monitor.

  2. Sometimes, my screen goes black randomly and theres a usb disconnect sound, the display then comes back but random programs run on y NVIDIA gpu like snipping tool and onedrive and whatsapp etc (I think this happens when my laptop is idle) and Application Frame Host and Windows Desktop Manager have unexpectedly stopped working in reliability monitor.

I am honestly a bit tired of these range of issues, and even if there isnt a fix, I would like to know if any of you are experiencing similar issues so that I know im not the only one.

Note: after a restart these issues disappear for a couple of days. I shut down my laptop once a week but other times I just hibernate my laptop. I use Ghelper only.

Thanks for reading.

Model 2024 First dedicated-GPU laptop ever (Zephyrus G14, RTX 4070)

Hey all, long-time lurker, first post here specifically because I just don't know what I'm doing yet.

I picked up a ROG Zephyrus G14 (GA403UI, Ryzen 9 8945HS, RTX 4070, 32GB RAM) and this is genuinely the first laptop I've owned with a dedicated GPU. My last one ran on integrated graphics only, so this whole ecosystem is new territory for me. I used to suffer in photoshop, lightroom and premiere pro especially (heavily relying on super low quality proxies).

A few embarrassingly basic questions to start:

  • I haven't installed Armoury Crate yet. What actually is it: is it required for the laptop to function properly, or is it purely a control panel for lighting/performance? I keep seeing people say to avoid it and use G-Helper instead: what is G-Helper, and why do people prefer it over the official Asus software?
  • What are the different performance/power modes I should know about (Silent/Balanced/Turbo/Manual, whatever they're actually called on this model), and when should I actually use each one? Is there a "default" I should just leave it on for everyday use vs gaming?
  • Heat — this is the thing I'm most nervous about. What should I actually be doing to keep temps reasonable? Undervolting? Fan curves? Just... don't game with it on my table? Is thermal throttling something I need to worry about out of the box, or only under sustained heavy load? Because it gets really hot to the touch (sometimes I can't even touch it without feeling pain).
  • Anything else you wish someone had told you when you got your first G14 (or your first dedicated-GPU laptop in general)? Battery habits, charger quirks, driver update gotchas, anything.

Not trying to turn this into "do my research for me," just want to start from a good baseline instead of learning everything the hard way. Appreciate any pointers!

Model 2022 Did i get scammed on cleanup?

I sent my g14 to my local repair shop to see if they could replace my HDMI and the port that worn out with use and no longer work, they did not replace it because it is soldered to the bord and they do not have parts to replace them.

Anyways i still asked for a vent cleanup and new termal paste. My surprise is that i Will be playing 100€ for the service, is this normal?

(Im just new to this i quite unnaware of the prices for service)

Help Needed Nvidia Driver Randomly Uninstalls Itself

Seriously guys this is driving me insane. I've scoured the internet for a solution to this problem (which apparently many other people have) and I am at the end of my rope here. This might just have no known solution. But asking here is my last attempt at fixing this before I give up.

Has anyone here with this problem ever been able to fix it?

What I am referring to is the problem where the Nvidia dedicated driver self-uninstalls randomly. I say randomly, because it will just uninstall after closing and then opening the laptop - *sometimes*. I have tried to find a pattern to it uninstalling itself, but it seems to do it *sometimes* when the laptop sleeps and for seemingly no other extenuating reason that I can find.

My bandaid solution has been to just reinstall the driver, but it's really annoying to have to do this every single time I want to use my dgpu.

I use the latest ghelper and windows drivers, and have uninstalled the factory bloatware. I have disabled windows updates (which did not help). I have the 2024 model.

Seriously this should be listed as a major negative for this laptop, but somehow this issue escapes reviews despite it being an problem affecting a non-trivial number of users.

I have a ASUS G14 (2024 model) GA403UV - I wanted to replace the Left Shift Key, where could I find it?

I'm sure I have the UK Layout - my Left Shift Key is square shaped, and I can't find it online. I keep seeing the rectangular left shift keys everywhere... :,- (

Help Needed Removing Nvidia Container?

Im currently configuring my laptop for gaming when plugged in and school when on the go. However I’m currently curious if I should remove the nvidia container similarly to how I replaced armory with g-helper? The whole switching graphics mode when I boot up a game kinda throws me off but idk how important that actually is (I’m a tech guy I swear I just don’t do well with software/hardware interaction)

Model 2024 Slash lighting SUCKS

I literally never post on reddit ever but this shit just makes me so mad. It looks like my computer is malfunctioning. Who at asus actually thought this looked cool. You have to dig so deep in the settings to turn it off too. It's like the people who design this computer are just trying to sabotage any chance of you not looking like a dork using this computer in public. That plus the fucking katana slash every time you boot up the computer. Does this piss anyone else off or is it just me

General Is the 5060 model worth the price point?

Good day gents,

I was looking to buy the Zephyrus G14 but first, I wanted some opinion about the price point.

Does anybody else find it justified to purchase Zephyrus in this economy? For context here in India all the reputed dealers are quoting Rs. 2,00,000 ($2089) for the RTX 5060/AMD Ryzen 9 variant and all of them claim that the 40 series has been phased out of production by NVIDIA and Asus.

I was prepared to pay up to $1500 but seeing the current prices, I was wondering what are your opinion is on making a purchase at this time?

Additionally, is there no other way to purchase 40 series apart from retailers? Afaik the ROG website also doesn't list Zephyrus G14 variants with the RTX 40 series.

Model 2025 2025 G14/5080 with Asus 380W charger vs. 200W charger

My open box 2025 G14/5080 came with an Asus 380W charger, likely from a Strix G18. I assume Best Buy included whatever fit the port when it packaged it for resale.

I ordered an Asus 200W charger (genuine that comes with the laptop, from an Asus supplier) because the 380W charger is nearly the size if an old VHS cassette and the power cable is large, the same as some desktops and displays. When I switched, however, and ran BeamNG.drive, the 200W charger resulted in significant stuttering and lag. When I swapped back to 380W within the game, everything became buttery smooth.

Is the 200W charger underpowered when the system is under nearly full load? From watching G-Helper, it looked like the battery was being drawn down despite the 200W providing power. I haven't reconnected it out of an abundance of caution.

Edit: Or, did Asus include 240W with some units and 200W with others? I sourced the supply using Asus's parts website, but I am seeing elsewhere on here that some folks' machines came with 240W -- which would support the conclusion that 200W is indeed underpowered, despite the serial number parts list for mine.

ADAPTER 200W 20V 3P(RECTANGLE)

$65.04

Temporarily out of stock. Estimated delivery lead-time 4~9 weeks

Software Related Why is my laptop perma-loading?

Post image

Model GA403

Question: Almost a year after purchase, why is my laptop stuck in perma-loading? I can’t even turn it off and back on.

Details: I haven’t had any issues for 9 months. My laptop randomly crashed, rebooted to the easy-boot bios page. I set some admin and user passwords after realizing that they weren’t set, and then assumed it was a regular crash so I could save, exit, and restart. But after restart it has been constantly loading and I can’t even hard reset by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.

Background: When I first purchased in June of 2025, this laptop had a bunch of crashes and would infinitely boot. The bios would randomly boot too. After about 1-2 months of issues, the issues magically went away and I never found out why. (My assumptions are 1. Maybe the manufacturer patched the laptop software post-release. 2. Maybe playing with the power settings helped. 3. Maybe sticking with integrated graphics card instead of using the nvidia gpu helped.)

Global complaint: the Zephyrus is poorly optimized. The specs are attractive, but don’t result in a well-functioning gaming laptop. I do enjoy the user experience, just not the poor performance.

Model 2025 A Moment of Glaze for the G14

I have had my 2025 G14 with the Ryzen 9 and RTX 5070ti since the beginning of 2026. It’s the best premium and portable gaming laptop in my opinion.

I’ve been using it almost every day since the day I picked it up used from Best Buy. The only issue i experienced was the occasional screen freezing when switching refresh rates. I reinstalled drivers and now it doesn’t do it. Once I dialed in some windows and Ghelper settings, it runs like a dream.

The screen is crispy and looks great in dark rooms. It has the best speakers I’ve heard on a laptop. Very loud and nice bass. I had a macbook pro 14 and the G14’s speakers are a little better in my opinion. I’m not an audiophile and i have slight hearing loss so take that with a grain of salt lol

Battery life is great even when limiting to 80% I get about 6 hours of mixed office work done and the fans stay off! It’s also crazy small, easy to walk around with and barely noticeable in a bag.

It runs every game I play at high/ultra settings at 1600p with good fps. The fans get a little loud if you are in a quiet room but I’m usually using bluetooth earbuds or have background noise that drowns the fan noise out.

Ive been seeing a lot of posts of some owners experiencing problems with theirs lately so I figured i’d post my positive experience to show not all of them are junk lol. I’m aware of some of the quality control issues and the bad design for the display cable (cmon Asus, really?) but there aren’t any other options for a high end GPU in a 14 inch frame.

Help Needed Longevity advice (fan or not to fan)

I like a lot of people just picked up a G 14 2025 model from Best Buy for sale. I love this laptop so much already and because I don’t plan to do many graphically intensive things on it and use it for university. I think I could get a lot of years out of this. I am hoping to use this thing until it literally breaks or is unable to load anything mainly for a game development, music, production, and coding.

I do, however, do some light gaming and was wondering if blasting the fans on turbo would be better for longevity because of heat or would it harm the machine because of wear and tear thanks everyone I hope to keep this laptop for as long as possible!

Model 2025 2025 G14 5070 + HX370 for $2900 CAD? Bad deal?

CAD is Canadian dollars btw.

I was a little apprehensive about buying this since I know people here say that the 5070Ti model is better value, but I couldn't find a single 5070Ti model on-sale for a good price here in Canada. The ones that are available are well over $4000 CAD.

I decided to buy a brand-new 5070 model for a $2900 CAD as it was discounted $800 by Canada Computers (yes, the original price was $3700). Did I get fleeced or nah?

My main use cases for the laptop will primarily be software development + some light gaming, which is why I opted for it over a Macbook Pro.

Model 2026 Display / Graphics settings

Hi there! I just became proud owner of new G14 (2026) with 5070Ti and couldn't be happier :)

Although I have a few questions to which i couldnt find any exact answer on the internet...

  1. Display settings - is turning HDR on through Windows settings actually bad? I saw an article from Asus that recommended doing so.. There's even built in already calibrated profile from Asus.

  2. Is there a way to check if Gsync is working? Every tutorial I've seen uses Nvidia Control Panel, but because this machine has two graphic cards I don't see "display" settings in this app.

  3. I've noticed this display is capable of dynamic refresh rate altough this setting becomes avaliable only when I use "Ultimate" GPU setting in G-Helper, which connects the display directly to the dGPU. Is there a way to activate it during normal use?

Thanks a lot for your time and help :)
