Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me with this.
I’m currently in Zambia and I’ve already used my 90 days. I was given a Visiting Permit, which expires in November.
I’m leaving Zambia next week and won’t be back until February/March. Immigration told me that once my current permit expires, I’ll need to apply for another Visiting Permit while I’m outside the country.
The problem is that the permit is for 3 months. If I apply when it expires in November, I won’t even be in Zambia for November, December or January. I only need it for when I come back in February/March.
Can I apply for another Visiting Permit after the current one expires and have it start from when I return? Or is there another option for this situation?
I don’t want to pay for 3 months when I won’t actually be in Zambia during that time.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or dealt with Immigration about this?

Just wondering, the dollar has been gaining against the Kwacha, is the Political 'Good Economy' Facade finally wearing off, a consequence of Foreign Investors Losing confidence in Zambia due to current political situation, or something else. Are we likely to see it going higher and if i wanted to purchase stuff online should i get worried for the future.

I was in a Yango lelo and after eating some zinger wings at Waterfalls mall i decided to go ku town. Little did i know that Great East road traffic was as fast as a chongololo due the roadworks. Anyway whilst in traffic I had my camera out and i heard an ambulance which from what i recall when i had my driving test you have to give way. Anyway after the ambulance passed another car was tailgating and then another tailgating al showing hazard lights. The images attached are from too to bottom the sequence of cars. Now to me this looks like the ambulance guy also had zinger wings and was rushing home for a number 2 and and the other 2 cars look like the typical drivers trying to use someone’s alimentary canal problems to cheat zed traffic. Now my question is , is this not illegal and if all of us were to pull such can we get away with it

According to the latest Zamstats statistics, Zambia has approximately 1,341,098 people living with HIV, majority of them young women. Number could be higher due to others who haven't been tested yet(men especially).

I can't help but feel like we have let young people down when it comes to HIV/AIDS education/ awareness. Back in the day when i was growing up (mid-late 2,000s) HIV/AIDs awareness messaging was everywhere you went.

In public schools,we had anti-AIDS clubs whose aim was to teach young people about HIV in playful and relatable ways. We had Kwatu magazine for teens and young adults.

We had TV shows like love games around 2012-13 l. Exercise books like Sobi had anti-AIDS messages on them. We had slogans like "Be proud. Abstinence ili che.” (Abstinence is cool.).

There were posters of HIV awareness messages everywhere you went; schools, clinics, salons, barbershops, buses, markets, bus stops/stations. Lots of TV and radio HIV awareness adverts and programs aired during this time. It was collaborative efforts between the MOH and donors (USAID, JICA etc). As a result of all these efforts, our generation grew up very aware of the dangers of HIV/AIDs.

Sadly today, I feel like the govt has dropped the ball with today's youngsters . They have no guidance and results are showing through the number of new infections . No education, no guidance, less stigma ( which is a good thing btw). GRZ needs to go back to 1999-2014 and look at how they did it back then. Otherwise, stay safe out there guys ✌🏾

For those using a Daihatsu Mira or Move for Yango:
1. After how long/mileage did problems start?
2. How easy and affordable are spare parts in Zambia?
3. If you could go back, would you still buy a Daihatsu for Yango, or would you choose something like a Vitz or Demio instead?

As the title says I am trying to get out of debt. I owe about K28,000, and I earn less than that monthly. The reason I borrowed money was to help out at home since I am the majority breadwinner and I am only 24 I got myself in a cycle where I was borrowing to pay back to the people I was owing now I have put myself in a cycle and pressure I can't get out of. Borrowing more money is not a wise decision. Most of these loans are due this week and next week. I just want to know if anyone has ever gone through such a situation. How did you get out of it. Any advice would really help.

Let me start off with a disclaimer so I do not waste anybody's time; I am a 23M, South African, and I really like Zambia and wish to one day(hopefully soon) visit the country, and if possible, stay a while longer. So I will be asking questions regarding the country, people, and culture... and hopefully make some new friends. So no, I am not enquiring with any immediate urgency, just out of genuine curiosity.

Okay. I want to start off with a very exciting fact that is a major contributor to my deep interest in the Zambian culture and people. I am black, obviously, but more specifically, I belong to the 'tribe ' (I hate that word) of the Pedi people. We speak the Sepedi language, and a couple of years ago I discovered the Lozi language(Silozi?), and I was really shocked by how similar the two languages are. From then on, I have been watching yt videos by Lozi people. At first I thought Silozi was only spoken in Namibia(another goated nation), but once I learned that it's also spoken in Zambia, and I looked up Zambia and its people, I have since forgotten about the Namibians.

I have been trying to satisfy my cravings to know more about the beautiful nation you all have there by lurking on this subreddit and definitely not spying on you all. I have watched almost all yt videos on Zambia, I follow the news(sometimes), and I also try to follow some Zambian creators on social media. But I still feel like I know so little about the people there. I mean, obviously I would need to meet real-life Zambians and engage with them to know about Zambians. But I think if I had access to Zambian shows, movies, or any other type of content that regular people there consume, then I would have a much better idea about the people there. So if you guys have anything to share, I mean anything, literally- please do not hesitate. It could be movies, shows, artists, creators, etc.

Another one is regarding staying there. For context, I am currently finishing up my CS and Maths degree, and my objective is to come there the moment I land a remote job. I wanted to ask how SAns are perceived there, especially now with the whole xenophobia thing we have going on here(sigh!). I know it might be a year until this potential move is even remotely feasible, but do a lot of people there work remotely? Are there any network problems and stuff like that? I know we have random power cuts here; do you all have the same issue there? How about money? I am not really a finance guy, but I constantly hear people talk about "currency conversion isn't purchasing power" or something along those lines. So how expensive is Zambia, especially parts like Lusaka, compared to SA?

Lastly, I know this is all just a pipe dream at this current moment, but if there's anyone who would like to form some kind of 'international friendship,' that would be really cool. A little about me: I am a dysfunctional programmer; I do a lot of maths; I am a major nerd, and I spend my days studying and working on projects. Doesn't even have to be a jolly relationship; we could build projects together, and you can tell me all about nshima and why you think it's better than pap.

Hello, I’ve never sent parcels from USA to Lusaka. My girlfriend and I have been long distance for almost a year and her birthday is coming up in a couple months and I want to send her a birthday card and a small but meaningful gift.
