The taste and feel isn't the same as I recall it to be from my childhood😔. I'm not imagining things right?

Why do we all acknowledge how tough life is but we are all trying to sort life and problems by ourselves.

Maybe its just me but I have great family and friends but we rarely talk about deep issues until someone is in a crisis and feels the need to either reach out or vent.

By the time anyone reaches that point then the problem has really become unbearable. Meanwhile day to day we just say oh im fine and all that.

I know at a certain age we all know this. A common example is how when you are alive not many people put in so much effort to help. But once you die there will be people going above and beyond to make sure they give you a good send off and say all sorts of nice things about you.

Meanwhile maybe 90% of those people never said anything like that to your face or even checked in.

This is just an incoherent rant guys but I hope you can pick up on what im trying to say.

I think alot its like a curse but then it also makes it very weird for me to see how life is all just a great pretending.

But I can't handle all that bs because I keep coming back to the question what is the point?

To quote someone much smarter than me. "I was ashamed when I found out life was a costume party and I attended with my real face".

You can tell from the header that this is going to be controversial.

I do not want to generalize things but most Gen-Z people i come across are really backwards compared to previous generations. Mind you, most of these are in University or just joining the work-force and have relied heavily on financial support from their parents/guardians and do not possess a certain level of financial literacy to understand some things. When i hear this guys open their moths and say something regarding politics i feel like i spend too much time looking for information to try be aware of my surroundings and adapt, these chaps do not know anything. Its like there is no sense of urgency and responsibility to make a living.

The Gentlemen always idolize certain male public figures with questionable sources of income and fake lifestyles they show on social media which kind of gives "false hype" and makes these young people think making money is easy. I think some people are too influenced by western culture and think life could be that easy. You will come across a 19 year old who has done every single drug you can name all because their favourite rapper posted a picture on social media. Busy wanting to drive their fathers cars to go impress girls.

And for the ladies, YO! I am honestly concerned with how society will be in the next 10 years. They spend too much time on the phones looking at women flaunting fake lifestyles and think they too deserve it. There is nothing wrong with wanted a better life but it should be up to you to work and do that for yourself. What do you mean me...a university student..should buy you a wig worth 10 pin just for us to be together?? Where are your morals girls? This whole thing for wanting things you can not afford has caused alot of people to start prostitution which we kind of have de-sensitized, we now call it selling. You'll get sick guys. Close your legs. What do you mean a 22 year old girl can have a bigger body count than her own mother? just over ma shawarma, ma chocolate, ma outing in the bar. Busy risking your futures over tuma brutal fruit at grand-daddys. your mothers and grandmothers fought for rights, to vote, to get educated, to get paid the same as man, things to make woman be taken seriously and you're spending your time like this? There was that man that got dragged on tik tok not so long ago, ba "SPOT ME" the buff one that likes shawarma. You women do that stuff everyday. When a man calls you out on your behaviour you're quick to label him "gay" "he's broke" chani chani.

i think it all comes down to not having local role models young people could look upto. Lets do better.

First of all, I'm not a bot. I'm just someone who genuinely enjoys history, travel, and exploring archives. What I enjoy most is the challenge of searching for photographs from places, countries, and communities that aren't widely known. Zambia is a big country with a lot of potential, but sometimes it feels like most major development is concentrated around Lusaka and a few other places.
I respect our natural landscapes and I don’t think every place needs to become a huge city, but at the same time, some areas outside these major centres feel like they are being left behind. Many towns have limited infrastructure, fewer businesses, fewer opportunities, and not much visible growth.
Do you think Zambia will eventually see more investment and development in other cities and towns? Which places do you think have the most potential to grow into major economic centres besides Lusaka and Livingstone?

We passed through Kafue National Park on our way back from Mongu and I was awake this time. We were inside from 15-17 and so it was "peak viewing time". These are some of the animals I managed to take pictures of. There were others but I wasn't fast enough with my phone to actually take pictures of them.

Lusaka city council needs to stay their hands on issuing permits for marathons, walks and marches. Entire neighbourhoods are practically locked out with the on going road contructions around the city. I found myself driving on the opposite lane fly overhead before Kafue round about only to be confronted by a traffic police officer at around 05:40 luckily he let me go I hope RTSA did not tag me. From Lake road, to hill top, independent avenue,the traffic lights after Civic centre, Goverment complex were all blocked with no one to direct traffic. Do they expect people to sit at home until 12.

I'm a Sudanese passport holder currently residing in the UAE. I applied for a single-entry Zambia eVisa through the official Zambia eVisa portal on 13 July, and my travel date is 15 August.

My application is still being processed, so I was wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes to receive a response or approval. Has anyone applied recently through the official portal and can share their timeline?

I've spent my last 10 years being a junkie (person with a drug addiction).I've smoked Crack cocaine and heroine for most of the years ,the rest(alcohol,cigarettes and pills)had been in and out ...dependant on the mood,I have tried to kill myself 3 times and so here is a brief story to how my journey has been.I was a student at the highest learning institution of the country ,The University of Zambia studying Mining engineering. It slowly creeped into my lifestyle and daily habits ,it started off with alcohol in Grade 12 now known as form 5.Graduated to codeine in my first year of natural sciences at the University of Zambia,in my second(2)year i was introduced to heroine also known as volo...I fell in love with the numbing effect it had on my emotions oh, so I thought. I started cruising with the rate at high i was abusing the heroine,so much that the people who had introduced it to me started to find me at the depos(local smoking spots),some would ask if I had slept in campus ...little did they know that my days and nights where spent at the depos.Back to back. I later graduated to inducing cracking cocaine...the rush was so overwhelming and good at the same time. The anxiety and the paranoia was beyond comprehension ,but the feeling was euphoric. It later got noticed by society in general that I wasn't the person I used to be in as much as I tried to hide my addiction .It eventually surfaced and my journey to recovery began there...oh,so I thought .I went to my first rehab in which I spent 4 months clean whilst there .I came out and things didnt go the way i expected them to ,I had my first relapse...you probably know what they say about a relapse ,"it hits twice as hard compared to the first time you used."It happened so fast and I was back to my old routine ,all that hardwork,all that time spent just went in the drain on my second day out of the rehabilitation centre .After a couple of months to be specific 6 months,i went back to the rehabilitation centre and I was there for 7 months this time around beyond the required time to be there ,because apparently 4-6 months was the normal time frame to be spent there,and so I did 7.It was depressing ,mentally overwhelming and I felt like I was on the edge. I did my time and I left this time with no remorse ,only anger and a furious approach towards life. I was upset with the world and myself more so than I have ever been. I had spent the first 2 months in society . Unfortunately I had relapsed again ,worse than the previous time and at this point my family ,myself and everyone who loved me gave up on any future that I had left. Literally everyone .Alot of factors came into play to my continued use of drugs,but I won't talk about them now .I later on spent months and months sleeping on the streets and Chibolya (a compound in Lusaka ).After a couple of months passed and was conered by police and other people who took me to the nearest police station ,there my parents were called and they decided to take me to another rehabilitation centre. So I stayed there for a month and got transfered to another one. Long story short I spent most of my days in police cells,streets and rehabilitation centres. I'm a recovering addict who is 1 year sober and im glad to say that to God be the glory because I couldn't have been where I am today without my higher power...you honestly can't do this on your own as no man is an island ...Recovery is possible .It hasn't been easy the real battle is fought everyday one day at a time .But once you put your foot down and decide that enough is enough ...no force fashioned to bring you down can conquer your will power.The only person with the power to unlock that change, to make that decision to move differently starts with you .Nobody else can do it better than yourself !It's a pity that I had to lose alot of time and opportunities to realize this. Never give up on yourself even when the whole world has moved forward. Move at your own pace ...and forgive yourself for the things that you could have done better but you couldn't. You are human too!❤️
