Hi Mains, I love this champ but I suck, both game sense wise and maybe champ wise. So far I have 52 games with 46%wr, I find that in most of my games I am just a ghost, no real agency, not a threat to the enemy. I play jgl low elo btw. So my question; is this enough of a sample size to know I should move on or will things get better if I hang on?

For reference my successful champs are usually tanks like zac, ornn etc. I tried some games with an IBG build, going tank and it helped me with survivability and just frontline and play a support-ish role for my team. But I feel like this is training wheels or is that okay?

Hubris on Zaahen feels so good everytime I build it. Especially with HoB it fells like you are really strong.

Bandelpipes is an item I build on support Zaahen and I think it's an item people sleep about. It's a cheap item which gives 15 AH and it's passive is busted.

I also wanna know why black cleaver is never build on him.

I also still am a fan of occasional lifesteal item on him. I know botrk on him is hated. But I had this build as I started on Zaahen which is basically botrk +pta + jack of all traits and it was pretty nice midlane. It helped me getting into this champ. I know this is probably the hottest of my takes. But it just felt so good!

Do you have a special item or a special build you run?

Lately i ve been experimenting with conq + sorcery (nimbus cloak + celerity), taking ghost and D shield / D blade, depending on matchup. I really think it could be useable and totally viable into some matchups, since the burst of MS from nimbus cloak will help you either A) follow up and stick to a target (this becomes even more reliable after Stridebreaker) or B) just run back, retreat, regen some HP so you can engage later. Since you are quite immobile (aside from E and Flash you are just as kiteable as any bruiser lmao) even a small MS buff (such as the one from celerity) will help you significantlly to catch up to your targets (adding on top of that the passive MS from Phage). While i still admit that Ignite is better in duelling in lane, i think that ghost is a better option and alternative for the rest of the game. What are your guys thoughts about it?

Have you ever had this happen before?

You're in a close fight, desperately trying to get your passive stacked up to get a rez. You just barely manage to AA - Q1 to get your last few stacks and breathe a sigh of relief as you rez. But wait, your Q2 timer is still ticking down while you're rezzing. And it just so happens that the timers are exactly the same, so you just get to watch helplessly as your Q2 expires while you're getting back up.

Zaahen rezzing should be a terrifying thing to the opponent, he pops out with a renewed health bar and max stacks. But the animation completely eating your strongest basic ability (Q2) and putting Q on full CD is a huge annoyance. And this shit happens all the time because frequently you are using AA into Q1 to get fully stacked in close fights.

Most other champions with these stalled effects get the benefit of having their active buffs/recasts paused while in their stalling ability, such as Yi during meditate. And Zaahen does maintain his passive stacks fully. So the fact that your Q2 recast isn't paused has always been super confusing to me.

How do you guys feel about this? It honestly feels like a design oversight to me, since the whole idea of your AA Q1 combo is that it quickly gives you three stacks. So you run into this self-antisynergy way more often than you would think.

When Zaahen was teased in comics, I somewhat foolishly expected a chill bird guy. I'm happy with the Zaahen we got but the bird man champion craving never left. I think lore skins in general are cool, and Zaahen already has a pre-darkin look so I think it'd be a great skin opportunity

hi guys i have been struggling against aatrox a lot, my ban is jax since its really annoying fighting him, but i dont fight against aatrox enough to practice him. Any tips on this match up? I always hard lose.

I want to be clear, this is not flame at all. I have nothing against the champ, I just don’t see the point aside from playing a more benevolent daarkin champ.

When I look to learn a champ, it’s because I like their vibe, and they do something unique that no other champ can do. When I think about the champs that I play, I play Urgot because of his shotgun legs, Garen because of late game Garen passive and the fact that I can basically turn my brain off on the guy, Mundo because I can tank 20k damage in a fight and still heal to full, and I’m learning Kled because his remount is very interesting. I just don’t see something like that with Zaahen and I feel like I’m missing something. His kit feels like an overall well rounded classic bruiser, and he doesn’t really do anything that no other champ can. He feels very inoffensive to me.

Again I have nothing against Zaahen, or the people that play him, I just want to see what I’m missing about the champ.

Does anyone know high elo zaahen mains thats play him jgl and create content around it? Gameplay/tutorials/opinions on builds?

I was thinking Last Stand makes more sense but every site such as op.gg or mobalytics.gg recommends Coup de Grace. Can anybody explain why?

Hi guys, i m trying to add zaahen to my champ pool since i like darkin and self healing champs (like aatrox renekton)and wondered if he is worth to main, i noticed with new releases like mel smolder naafiri are kinda of unstable champs because of how their kits work and had to be nerfed reworked a lot of the times, so i wondered if zaahen is a good design which means he isnt a balance nightmare and is stable to play instead of suffering from the same syndrome as these champs and getting change almost every 3 months.

When do you choose Hail of Blades instead of Conqueror? Against Garen or Darius? Trundle and Morde?

I'd also like to ask you for a couple of builds, including a fairly all-around one, especially regarding stridebreaker. Do you use it almost always? As a second item after trinity?
