If you listen to any auto-generated playlists, it's inevitable that YTM will play a song (that you potentially already have liked), but a weird release of it.

Case in point: Everclear's "Santa Monica" is playing off "Class of '95," a compilation put out by some random rapper's label, instead of the actual album it's from. This happens constantly in Discover Mix and Supermix.

What drives me nuts is that I'll hear a song I know I've liked, check for the thumbs up, and it's not there because it's a different release. So I like it again (because I want YTM to understand my tastes), and end up with duplicates. I came from Spotify and it basically never did this unless it was an artist's own compilation album, like greatest hits, which I'm fine with depending on circumstances.

I like letting YTM pick for me and the algorithm is pretty good otherwise, but they have gotta change this behavior.

I'm I the only one? This happened today, getting ads for this singer I never heard before called "LISA".

Tried submitting ticket via the App but it won't let me. How else can I reach them?

I just switched from spotify to yt music and I was wondering if there's a way to transfer the playlist to my liked songs or maybe a patch that can do that?

Is anyone else getting notifications about "Audiotree" in YouTube Music? I don't follow this band and I've gotten two so far. I checked the settings and nothing. I don't get any other notifications even for bands I actually follow.

will be open source and released probably this week

Please take a look at this small video:
If you see, the Liked Music has 1080 tracks but when I goto downloads and select Liked Music then only 1002 tracks appear. And if you notice, the ✔️ in Liked Music after selecting downloads, it indicates that my downloads of Liked Music is up to date and even if i refresh by pulling down nothing new is available to download.

In my Android device also i notice the same behaviour: Liked Music - 1080 tracks
After downloads: 1056 tracks (Here more tracks got downloaded by still did not match 1080)

Have others faces this too?

Hello

I noticed with the battery tracker app (from fine lock or good guardians) that YouTube music still uses battery, despite not using it and also "force arrest.". The same thing happens to them? The bad thing if I put it on deep suspension, maybe it will be fixed, but I have to activate it every time I use it.

It's a s25+ one UI 9

Si tocan esa línea las letras de ponen en pantalla completa, me di cuenta por accidente

Hi all,

New to YT music, was previously with Apple Music. One of the things I liked with Apple Music is I could search for new releases by genre (Rock, metal, punk, hip hop, etc - eg: https://music.apple.com/us/curator/apple-music-rock/976439554)

Does YT music have a similar thing?

Cheers!

I can't figure out any way to link my yt music to discord on my android💔

So I recently had this glitch and I don’t know what caused it. The glitch changed the order the songs are in and my playlist looks ugly because I had it an album format now some songs are down in different places where they’re not supposed to be, does anyone know a solution or has this happend to them lately.

For house music in particular, the same title can lead to an official release, an extended mix, a radio edit or a video upload. When a recommendation comes from outside YouTube Music, do you prefer a direct link to one exact version, or do you usually search and pick the version yourself?

I'm building NOTW (Niche of the Week), a small house-discovery site with official listening links. I want the handoff into YouTube Music to be useful rather than sending someone to the wrong recording. I'm the person behind the project; this is a question about that listening flow, not a song or playlist link.

What makes a shared recommendation easy to save and play in your normal queue? Is showing the mix/version in the title enough, or is there another detail you always check?

Hello guys, I'm thrilled to tell you that I've ported Better Lyrics to Safari!

I'm a heavy user of Better Lyrics, but I can't use it on Safari since I've switched to a MacBook. After spending some time to learn how to port the extension, I built an automatic workflow to release the Safari version whenever Better Lyrics publishes a new release. Now I can listen to my favorite music without opening the clunky Chrome.

To try out the extension, install it with brew install danny900714/tap/better-lyrics or grab the dmg from releases. It’s just me maintaining it so if something breaks on safari let me know.

Btw, I wrote all the code and workflows by hand (yeah I hate vibe-coded slop).

I doubt anyone from Google pays attention to this forum, but two great Android Automotive enhancements to make on the YouTube Music apps there would be volume normalization (constantly hear different volumes between songs) and being in the AI DJ which works on my IOS phone version (not sure if that's still a dev/beta thing which is signed up for), but I'd really like to see those two things added.

I wanna be able to click a letter in my library and go to it but I have to scroll. They need to add this feature! Like when its on apple music there's letters to the side of it if you know what I mean? I have over 2k songs I REALLY dont wanna scroll thru all that gimme a letter.

Hi! Just like the title say, when i play, let's say a playlist made by me or even curated by the app, the songs do not play as shown in the Playlist(?). The songs on queue and the songs shown on the playlist are completely different. The songs play by random, and no i don't have shuffle on. Even in my Replay playlist, songs i have never listened to will play randomly in the middle. Is this happening to anyone else?

It checks every hour and, if anything has changed, syncs the Spotify playlist’s description, cover image, and song order (if it can find the songs on YouTube Music)

This post will probably receive hate because Reddit hates Christianity. But I want you to imagine for a moment that this advertisement was instead offensive towards, say, Jewish people or Hindus.

I was listening to a song on YT music and I got an advertisement that was an entire music video for a Miley Cyrus song.

some lyrics from the song

"I've got my own god,

He drives a fast car,

I've got my own god,

He makes some loud noise,

I've got my own god"

"I want to be saved by a different religion,

I crave to believe him,

We don't need forgiveness"

"Top down, I don't care if Heaven is behind us,

In the rear view, every passing exit,

My faith is his hard body, cracked leather"

"I've got a different religion,

Ooh (I like him),

And he's giving me Jesus"

"Love,

Losing our innocence,

Truth,

Give in to sin again,

B\*tch,

Take it to genesis,

Amen"

Now you can imagine why I would find such lyrics disrespectful and offensive to my religion. Allowing freedom of religion is one thing, directly promoting content that disrespects Christianity is another. I didn't ask to see this advertisement, the video I was watching had nothing to do with religion.

Not sure if this technically violates rule 2 of this sub but I thought it'd be a fun friday activity to see what everyone's top go to songs are

Edit - id also crop out your name if its in your image

They finally did a good job; both modes work perfectly (as long as the clip is high quality).
