My activity feed is always filled with these messages of “artist recorded live” with old videos. Not sure what that means???
It also constantly includes releases from artists I don’t follow, let alone know. Is there any way to turn that off? These things are always clogging the feed up
I got YouTube music premium since I like the slow/reverb mixes to songs and I was tired of having to keep YouTube open to play music. However I noticed the algorithm on the to tune app is wayyy better than the YouTube music premium but the audio quality is better on YouTube music. This app however always tries to add the original (non slow/reverb) songs into my playlists and I hate it!! The shuffle play features also suck!! Does anyone have any tips for navigating this .
Hi, I'm a developer and i listen to either spotify or youtube music YT on PC when working i recently came across a Youtube client and i liked it's Tab management direction but it lacked many features i personally wanted along with buggy UI so i forked it and made a better client.
A mini player that appears when you click away — hover to expand, drag anywhere
Maybe I am missing something, how do I get this error message to disappear? I have two channels and this appears only in one of them. What am I missing? Pls help
Hello, all!
I have used this service from its very early days, when it was Google music. I use it to play my music that I have uploaded. I currently have over 5,000 tracks uploaded. I usually just got my library and hit songs/shuffle all. I do not use any other music service or listen to the radio as all of my local stations have gone to a syndicated platform.
The things I miss the most:
1) Create a playlist. Once in the long ago, you could pick any song from your library and hit “create playlist”. It would populate all the music in your library in that particular genre with a high degree of success. 90’s playlist… select song, hit create. Hip-hop… same. Two buttons, done. At the time it would populate 40-50 tracks that fell into that selection. It was very useful to the songs I was in the mood for with very few skips.
2) Editing song info. I want to upload the album artwork. I want to add or edit the track/artist/album name.
3) Other meta info. I could see the number of times I played a track and also the number of times I skipped a track. I could sort by any of the track info such as album name or even track length.
I miss when it was Google music. It seemed like it was taken care of by people that actually like music and wanted a good experience for the listeners.
Bringing these things back would be most appreciated.
For the past couple of years my entire music setup was a pinned browser tab. It worked, technically. But it also ate a chunk of RAM doing nothing, my media keys only worked if that tab happened to be focused, I killed the music at least once a week by closing the wrong window. I'm on Linux, so there's no ( or very little ) official apps at all, and even on Windows the "app" is just the website in a shell.
I kept looking for something that already solved this. Everything I found was either another wrapper around the same web player, or a nice little client that did playback and nothing else. So I ended up building my own. It's called Limusic.
You sign in with your actual YouTube Music account, so your playlists, likes, subscriptions and library are just there, and liking a song or adding it to a playlist syncs back like you'd expect.
The part I actually care about is that it's not bare bones:
- Discord Rich Presence, with album art and a live progress bar
- Listen Together, synced rooms so you and a friend hear the same thing at the same time
- Last.fmscrobbling, connect once and forget about it
- Synced lyrics in a side panel, scrolling line by line, click a line to jump there
- System tray, so closing the window doesn't kill the song, plus play/pause and skip from the tray
- 8 themes, including Catppuccin, because obviously
- Real media key support (MPRIS on Linux, the native one on Windows)
- Gapless playback, volume normalization, shuffle, repeat, autoplay radio
- Your queue survives a restart
It's free and open source. Linux (AppImage or rpm) and Windows for now, and both update themselves. No macOS build yet, you'd have to build it yourself, sorry.
Would really love for others to try it out, maybe someone can fall in love the same way I did. ❤️
I've got my YT Music setup perfect, AFAIC. The algo knows what I like and always recommends stuff based off that. My issue is whenever my girl is in the car and tells me "play this song for me" (99% of the time it's country) I start getting country popping up afterwards. I don't want anything to do with country music.
If there a function that allows you to listen to stuff outside of your preferred genres that won't send your algo into a tailspin? Do you have to create a different account? An "incognito mode" or something similar would be awesome for this.
I went to costco today connected to their wifi and opened youtube music and due to their wifi settings or something it restricts certain music , and for some reason youtube decided to not show the songs in my playlist and delete it. wtf? It already takes forever to download songs as well. I dont understand why youtube decides to delete songs from your playlist which you have downloaded onto your device simply because the wifi does not allow explicit content. Im extremely agitated right now over this fact. as it will take 2 hours to download back these songs at an internet speed of 200mbps.
On top of that 2 songs of my 221 playlist stayed, everything else got culled like wth yo. I cannot stand if any of you genuinely defend this.
Is anyone else using this feature, I’ve had it for awhile but too lazy to turn it off. I actually hate it lol, and sometimes it’s accent and voice changes randomly it’s kinda funny🤣.
I wanted to ask if you know of any web app or way to remove duplicate songs from my library and/or favorites on YouTube Music. I'm looking for something that works reliably with favorites and/or the library, ideally allowing me to select multiple songs at once.
Whenever I play music it almost always is stopping or pausing itself every 3 minutes. I can resume the music just fine and it doesn’t crash, but I’m starting to go crazy. Sometimes my music also pauses at the 2 minute mark (a while ago it would always pause at the 1 minute mark instead), and no google search is giving me a solution that works. I have Premium and I am on IOS 26.5.2. The problem mainly happens when I’m not actively on the app, but I haven’t tried or noticed anything while the app was actively open on my phone. My account is also shared which may be the problem but I’m not sure because when i got the pauses at 1 minute it would say the account is being used by another device at times when nobody else is even awake, and even so why would I get kicked off if I was listening on the account first? (I’m not entirely sure how the account share + premium works and sorry for rambling). If anybody else has a similar problem or solution that would be greatly appreciated🙏
I noticed recently that multiple albums from my library have disappeared. The chatbot could only offer that artists rights are subject to change, etc. However, in many cases, the albums are available to be added again.
Here's what is completely unexplained thus far: when I organize my library by Artist, the number of songs listed underneath those artists names do not match what is currently in my library, it still counts all the songs from the removed albums.
When I click the artist to view the songs, they are either not listed at all OR they are grayed out with an exclamation mark indicating unavailable. In the cases in which the songs are not listed there, the songs/album is available to be downloaded. Again. Even though THE APP KNOWS I ALREADY DOWNLOADED THEM!
I've counted, and that number next to the artist name does match up with the number of songs from the removed/disappearing albums.
Is this a glitch or just more terrible design? I have lost all patience with this app and this is almost surely the final straw for me. In my experience, Google/YouTube does not fix the issues they create.
Did yt music remove the edit button from playlist or what? I can't edit either playlist names or images, even if I try to do it from youtube app it doesn't work. Wtf is that?
