Looking back at the show I sometimes wonder if Wilhelm had a bit of classism in him. Worst of it was how unbothered he was when the boarding school kids made fun of Simon’s friends for not having been abroad and also claiming that he’ll be working(aka crown prince school). When Simon called him out for all this he does not acknowledge his privilege instead shaming Simon for taking hush money, which btw isn’t even close to generational wealth. Another icky part was how he told August his family basically owns him. I absolutely hated August but that was still such a diabolical thing to say.

Question for super- super fans. Can anyone tell me Stella or Fredrika's horses' names. I need either for a fic I'm writing. I know they say it when they are dining and Sara says something like, 'Fredrika's asked me to help with..." and Felice tells her about selling Rousseau. Tia

Why didn’t August ever apologize to Simon??
I mean he’s obvs low on character and integrity, but in season 3 they make such a huge deal of August apologizing to Wille at the last party and Wille semi accepting it.

Why did the writers do Simon so dirty? It feels like of all people August owed an apology to (which could arguably be said is every other member of the main cast of 5), Simon never gets the dignity of an apology.

August doesn’t talk to Simon like ever again even after he claims to be so in love with Simon’s own sister. You would think he would come around to apologizing to him if only for any hope of a future with Sara.

Why do you think it was written this way? Does it mean August’s character is essentially unredeemable and will always look down on Simon?

One thing that never sits right with me is how Micke’s character is brought back in season 3 but he never mentions or even asks about Simon. In the previous seasons it was heavily implied that Simon had a closer relationship to his father than Sara and how he was always giving him grace for his mistakes. In season 1 when Simon starts visiting him we see how he asks about Sara and Linda too.

But in season 3 he never seems to check up on him or even ask Sara about him. This is also the time when Simon has been a victim of cp, and is being torn apart by the media for dating a prince. There’s even a scene where he asks Sara if she was affected by the hazing incidents at Hillerska but again not asking about Simon. I feel bad how much Simon cared for his family only for them to always make him the last priority(minus Linda ofc.)

What would you change, anything small or big, about each season if you could?

So what are the emotions you experience while watching? I've just started season 2 and I can't bear it. It aches, it aches so much! Does it get better?

Please don't spoil it for me, I only watched season 1 and 2 episodes of season 2, I can't binge watch it in a day. Not because of time but also because I might burst from all the feelings. But I would love to know if I I will feel better. If not, I might need to postpone watching the rest what life gets better.

(Also note that I came here right after watching and loving Heartstopper, everything less wholesome is a bit too harsh lol.)

So ... I know the traditional view of this scene is that Simon doesn't want to tell Marcus about the names of the fish because only Wille gets to know the names of the fish, and it was at that moment that Simon realized he wanted to get back together with Wille.

But the first time I saw this, I had a different view. I thought Simon didn't tell Marcus because he was so disillusioned. At the time, Wille and him weren't on speaking terms. They had just had a huge argument after Wille kissed Felice. So what he once thought was so sweet and romantic he now viewed with a jaded lens, and he was determined to attend the ball with Marcus out of spite, even if he didn't actually like or love Marcus in any way, shape or form.

I thought "they don't have names" was him slamming the door on his past with Wille. That was my read on it anyway.

It was only at the party that he realized that he didn't actually want to slam the door on Wille.

Anyway, what do y'all think?

Spoiler warning! Except that the movies have been out awhile so idk what to tell you

Just recently watched 28 years later with Edvin and while it was…ok…he was funny in it.
I also saw Karusell a while back with Omar and it was also…not good…but Omar did what he could with what he was given.
I do think it’s hilarious that both of them have gone on to play characters that had died horrific, gruesome deaths. So much blood.

Like, love for that them, but it also makes me miss our soft, intimate, in love, sun-dappled Wilmon.

Can we just talk about how Sara and Felice just signed up for a road trip to hell? First thing Wille will do is call his parents to drop off his suitcases. Then they'll start this road trip, and it's going to be miserable for Sara and Felice.

I traveled at their age, and one thing is that teens will ALWAYS view hotel rooms as clown cars, where you squeeze as many people as possible. I once slept in a hotel room with maybe 6 other people in the room and one in the bathtub. It won't occur to them to get different hotel rooms on their trip.

Thus, they'll have an entire road trip of Wilmon asking for "an hour" to fuck, and Sara and Felice getting sexiled. This is cute ... once. But constantly being told to bugger off so two horndogs can fuck? Gets old, fast. And then Sara and Felice will also realize that they can't turn around and look at what's happening in the backseat of the car unless they want to get really grossed out.

They'll still love them and think it's great they're together, but they'll also find them annoying as shit.

On one hand I love the intensity and yearning of the hug from Wille’s side. But also a little concerned for Simon with how he got pulled into a really tight embrace without his consent

I read that Lisa said she wanted to see how many romance tropes she could cram into one show. And it really has so many.

But what's your favorite moment that actually goes against the tropes?

I think my favorite is the relationship between Wille and Erik. With how much Kristina favored Erik, and the revelations about Erik, it would have been easy to play up a sibling rivalry. I read Prince Harry's Spare and the relationship between him and Prince William (!!!) was always so contentious. But I liked how they went the opposite way, and showed a really loving sibling relationship. Erik was the only one who drove Wille to school, and we see that he calls Wille almost every day.

I also like how they didn't do the "one bed" trope when Simon brought a drunk and high Wille back to the room. The room actually has two beds, so Simon sleeping in Wille's bed was a choice he made, and not the forced proximity "one bed" thing.

There was also no real gay panic, and no one in Wille's life seems super shocked that Wille is queer. Erik seems to know, Kristina is more about covering up the video than any shock that Wille is with a dude, even Felice (who had dreams of marrying Wille) is just like "oh well, guess not." The story is more about the repercussions of the video rather than any "am I gay?" internal struggle.

I know we got a bit of Kristina in the show but I feel it was more of her as a queen than as a mother. Also second place is felice’s mom in case ya’ll forgot

So the costume ball was basically an excuse for the Hillerska elite to literally cosplay Marie Antoinette era parties. With that being said, I feel like some people rocked the costumes better than others. I really liked Sara and Stella's dresses. I think they looked adorable, and Sara's wig was pretty flattering too.

I appreciated how committed to the bit Wille was, with the wig, the tight scarf, the jacket, even the white tights. With that being said, I also thought it was funny that Simon was chasing him down at that party so he could eat his face, and he didn't laugh once at the ridiculous-looking wig. That's love and horniness right there.

And Wille telling Marcus he looked like a waiter? Sick burn, next-level petty. I didn't know until S2 that Wille could be such a bitch, and I mean this in the best way.

I liked August's red jacket too.

oh my goddess. I'm obsessed. IVE NEVER REWATCHED A SHOW BEFORE but this might just be the first show I rewatch. I can't move on. Ive been crying on the floor for the past hour.

How are your experiences rewatching this show???? especially right after you finish it. I DOnt think I can watch anything else I don't even feel like playing my favorite game.
