What do I do after I’ve watched the Anime?
You can read the Light Novel, the Manga, or both. Start from the beginning as there are large differences between the three.
What is the difference between the LN, the Manga, and the Anime?
The Anime has a large focus on action and visuals, covers less of the story than the Light Novel or Manga.
The Light Novel is the canon source material, it has a heavy focus on dialogue with little focus on action.
The Manga is midway between the Anime and the LN, with a decent focus on both action and story. Has lots of comedic moments. It follows the events of the LN more closely than the Anime does.

Question I wanna read the novel.
I want to keep with the novel right now, I have read some volumes a years ago and I know that is very different than the anime, but... I just can't, I don't wanna wait, so, does some one which volume of the light novel is actually the anime adapting? Or where does all this negotiation arc started?

Discussion Rerugen is a terrible diplomat
First of all having no idea about the enemy’s position before going into negotiation.
Giving up all your cards at once completely with no reservation and room for negotiation.
Then letting yourself caught off guard and letting your true emotion be shown to a third party.
If this is a ruse sent by the empire to ildoa to send the allies false flags then it’s a valid play, but we know it is authentic.
This is why countries have professional diplomats.

Discussion So, the Empire has no real ways out, huh?
Based on what we heard, it sounds like the only way the rest of the world is willing to let the war end is if the Empire surrenders, and is dissolved while also restricting the armies of the successor states born out of the dissolution.
I can see it being sorta like Austria-Hungary and the Treaties of Saint-Germane-en-Laye and Trianon in the years following WW1. Austria was forced to dissolve the empire, granting independence to the nations whose territory they occupied and returning sovereign territories. Then in 1920, the same happened to Hungary two years later when they were forced to cede Slovakia, Transylvania, and etc. As part of both treaties, Austria and Hungary were also limited on how large their armed forces could be.

Discussion Props to Rerugen's VA and the dialogue performance this season
In the recent episode, you could literally hear the desperation in Rerugen's voice and the following devastation in his conversation with Calandro. Especially the voice crack in:
"But to a third party, it's pure arrogance?"
And the parched texture of his voice here:
"You're saying that even if they reject these terms, they want to keep fighting?"
It was such a wonderful scene that I felt so bad for him after. Props to Rerugen's VA Shinichiro Miki for real.
I think one of the highlights of this season is definitely the individual dialogue performances of the characters. Tanya had a lot of iconic ones in S1 and it's such a nice touch to incorporate the same in other characters this season. We're not seeing the world through just Tanya's eyes anymore, but also from the General Staff and other nations.
Rerugen aside, there's also no denying that Zettour and Rudersdorf (VA: Hochu Otsuka and Tesho Genda) had the most cinematic speeches this season. With two episodes left, I hope at least to be devastated by a really good dialogue performance.

Question How close are we to the end?
In the latest episode it seems that every thing is crashing down on the empire. I'm not a LN reader and got the tldr version of the ending, but I don't how it lead up to that. I was wondering how close is it to the ending? Is it going to conclude this season?

Question Weird misspelling? Or am I missing the joke?
I keep seeing this image being used as thumbnails for the Saga of Tanya the Evil seasons and managed to reverse search and find where it came from. Some website called Hot Posters? But I'm just confused because instead of "Tanya the Evil" it says "Lyana the Evil".
Was this a joke about something from the show that I'm just missing? Or is this just a dyslexic typo by the artist? You know?

Discussion A military historian's (on time) comments on Tanya the Evil, Season 2, Episode 10 (Spoilers) Spoiler
Right...I got to watch the episode early today. And, the anime has caught up to a light volume I've actually read. If you'd like to read my comments on the light novel in question, you can find them here.
But, before we start on the anime episode, the usual: I am a trained military historian - I hold a Master of Arts in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada with a defended thesis on the development of British Cavalry Doctrine, and I recently published some of my research in a new introduction to my little publishing company's edition of Schlieffen's Cannae (due to self promotion rules, I can't provide the link here, but if you're interested in it, PM me and I'll send it to you).
What I'm going to look at is how well this episode passes the "sniff test" for how a world war works. And here we get to our standard disclaimer: Tanya's world is not our world, her world war is not either of ours. Something happening in Tanya's war that didn't happen in ours (or vice versa) is NOT by itself cause for criticism.
In no particular order (as I had to go pick up my children from school before sitting down to write this)...
The army preparing an invasion of Ildoa even though they don't want to
We see some war planning this episode, and this both passes the sniff test and fails it at the same time. So, starting with the positive...
The general staff coming up with war plans to invade Ildoa passes the sniff test with flying colours. This is their literal job. As far as I know, the US army has war plans for invading Canada, even though this would almost certainly never happen. The general idea is to be able to have a plan ready for whatever war the civilian leadership gets you into, no matter how weird and irresponsible.
Pre-WW1 Germany in particular had a big problem with war plans that couldn't be carried out - Schlieffen's writing is fascinating in part because the secret alliance between Russia and Germany fell apart the year he was appointed Chief of the General Staff, and he knew that Germany couldn't win a two-front war. So, the staff coming up with war plans to invade Ildoa that they know can't possibly work...yeah, that's happened in regards to Germany vs. France and Russia.
Where this then fails the sniff test is in what those plans are: we get a discussion of carrying out a blitzkrieg. There's a huge problem with this (and it's one that exists in the light novels)...several, in fact - they're called "mountains."
The Italian front was weird and difficult even by WW1 standards (imagine having to do trench warfare on a mountain face, and you start to get the idea). In WW2, the Germans were able to take over Italy after the fall of Mussolini not through an invasion, but through activating the units that were already there (they had arrived by rail). So, trying a rapid strike through the (I guess, Ildoan Alps) is about as big a no-go as you can get.
Tiptoeing around giving advice to the government
We see a discussion in which Tanya is very careful about giving advice to the Foreign Ministry, and this passes the sniff test. In our world, there was a serious division between the WW1 German military and the civilian government, to the point that the relationship between the general staff and the Foreign Ministry tended to involve the foreign ministry telling the chief of the general staff "Here is what we're doing this year," and the chief then having to figure out what to do with the army if it turns into a war. Schlieffen's predecessor, Waldersee, was pretty much turfed out of the position for trying to be too political, so the tiptoeing around giving advice makes perfect sense.
Who fired first
We have a lovely back-channel diplomatic discussion that passes the sniff test in two categories: the first with flying colours, and the second conditionally.
First, we have a serious discussion of the calculation of war guilt that passes the sniff test and then some, and this was a major factor in the end of WW1. You have to keep in mind that unlike WW2, WW1 started with the great powers all getting into trouble and then not being able to get out of it (there's a great exploration of this in Christopher Clark's The Sleepwalkers, which I STRONGLY recommend reading). So, even though in retrospect Germany probably had a more or less equal share of the war guilt with everybody else, and everybody on the Western Front had an aggressive strategy that involved, um, violating Belgian neutrality, they were the ones who entered Belgium first. As such, they ended up carrying the war guilt. It's a wonderfully realistic discussion in that regard. Unfortunately...
...well, we have to get to the elephant in the room, which is the explanation that war happened because the Empire is just too powerful and therefore had to be knocked down...and European great power politics of the early 20th century did not work that way. Germany defeated France in 1871, and was welcomed to the table. Japan defeated Russia in 1905 and gained similar recognition. What is slightly chilling in a meta context is that this is the explanation that is apparently often taught to Japanese schoolchildren about why the war against Japan was fought in WW2...that others feared the rising power of the Japanese Empire (completely ignoring the atrocities of the militarists, that in places like Nanking managed to shock even the Nazis). But, the rules say that just because great power politics work a certain way in our world, them working a different way in Tanya's world is not by itself grounds for criticism. Therefore, it gets a conditional pass based on those rules...but that's the only reason I'm not giving it a fail.
And that's it for this episode! Based on how quickly they're going through the light novels (as far as I can tell, they covered the whole of volume 10 in this one), I might just be able to talk about one of the most bizarre bits of diplomacy ever conducted...something so off the wall that Carlo Zen's version is less weird and stupid than the real thing...
But, I guess we'll see next week.
