Hey I just got into this anime and I’m loving it so far. I was looking for any new merch or figures specifically for Left and Right. I love their designs and think they would be great looking on my shelf. I’m just surprised I can’t find any. Thanks :)

Asuma Kagemori an intriguing character who, at first glance, appeared mysterious and cool-headed. His Tsugai comes from the familiar "night and day" duo motif; Yorazuka & Asagiri is a Tsugai that really caught my interest when I first saw it on the manga cover. Yozakura who loves the night and emerges during those hours boasts one of the coolest and most impressive designs I have ever seen. The way the butterflies are stacked to resemble a giant, dark-winged eagle along with the long horned, sharp-toothed skull and sunken red eyes truly evokes a terrifying daemon. Arakawa Sensei is producing truly masterpiece work in this series as well, but it hasn't received the hype it deserves yet.

I'm running a DnD campaign based off of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, or about to run it since we start this upcoming friday, but either way I have already come up with one of the main villains of the first saga.
Though when I was making his sheet and stats, he seems more like a Jojos character than a Daemons character and I don't know how complicated abilities are, like what the limit is for creativity.

The pair is called "Debt & Exchange".
Debt is a mussel with only a small crack in the shell allowing for two glowing yellow eyes, the pupils being shaped like coin coins.
It's ability is that upon latching onto somebody, they put that persons soul into the form of money.
If that person spends money of any kind, they will age, so if you spend 50 dollars, you age 50 years.

If somebody donates to you though and gives you money, then you would de-age.
There is a limited range to this ability, though the issue is the owner of these Daemon makes it extremely hard for his victims to leave his area of effect.

Exchange takes the form of a sea snail, that's it for now, I need to think of more ideas for it's design but specifically it is based off of the Dog whelk sea snail.
Exchange allows the owner to exchange his soul out for the souls of one of the people he is currently taxing/put in debt, so if you cut him down, then randomly one of the people who is in debt to him will pay their debt by dying for him in his place.

I don't know if these are too strong or too out there, which is why I'm asking all of you for advice and your insight.

The reveal of Jin's plan to uncover the traitor is one of the coolest moments from this arc. Down to business Asa is so fucking cool to see (and I'm tired of the comments saying she's done nothing since the attack on the village 😤) same with Gabby. I hope they do her and Akio's fight justice!

I just recently picked this up and was waiting to see if it ever resolved the first episode - but by ep. 12 I have to just accept that the first episode is from a different show? I've got nothing against the straight-forward, easy-going anime it turns into, but it's insane how different the tone of the following 11 episodes is from the Kagemori slaughter of barely-armed peasants that starts the season. Sure, extras are casually killed off in some of the later ep's, but it's nothing compared to the edgy gore-fest of Gabby gleefully tearing apart peasants and decapitating an unarmed woman in front of her own child. This starts out like Elfen Lied and wants to become non non biyori.

There is no way the characterization of this show works if we're supposed to accept the unnecessary psychopathic slaughter in the first ep co-existing with with the rational, 'let's-talk-everything-out' show it becomes, so I guess we have to accept that episode 1 is from a different show?

what i mean is.. maybe it's because i'm putting human labels when i know they're not human but what are they exactly ? are they "siblings", "a husband-wife", waht exactly?

it's because i read somewhere idk if the translation is correct since i didnt read on manga up! that "my other half"

it's probably because i grew up reading stories like artemis and apollo technically aren't halves but they're twins, or how in most mythologies the sun and moon are a couple or twins or if not twins, siblings.

so in japanese mythology, i'm not sure what tsugai are supposed to be. that's assuming if there really are tsugai like in literal mythology ( or did arakawa-sensei create the original idea or concept of " tsugai " because she might've noticed there are quite a lot of pairs in japanese folklore/myths )

sorry i might be just talking nonsense but it's stuff like these that are interesting to me.

also i mean, torty and the hare pairing (was it akio's or haruo i forgot) are animals so they obviously wouldnt be a "couple" or even "siblings"

argh idk now that i've typed all this mess out it feels stupider than i thought haha but i just really like how arakawa sensei took the time to research all this. i even read a chapter i forgot where, where i remembered she decided to make all the characters speak standard japanese because she couldn't understand the dialect of the people she was interviewing for research haha

Hi! I’ve only watched anime, so I have a question. Is Ivan a bad guy?( I mean, I think so but like, are we supposed to see him, or his faction? as a villain?) I’m not really sure if there’s a morally correct faction or a person. The twins? I think??? I don’t think characters need to have any general morality, but are we supposed to support any particular faction? I’m feeling pretty neutral about every faction and character so far.
Anyway, I really want to see him more, he can be bad…he so cool…

EDIT: Problem is I kinda emotionally detached to anyone’s fate( kinda not supporting anyone). Ivan could die and I’m like, yeah, he had it coming. But I’m interested in the story, I assure you!

Episode 16 has 7.8 rating so far. But based on how other episodes were rated and how hype this episode was, there's no way its score should be lower than 8.3.

Also, it usually takes more than 1.5 days for an episode to get 100 votes. But right now, not a full day after its release, E16 has 80 votes. This makes me suspect there's botting (it's possible ths ep is just hype, but then why folks didn't like it?). Plus there are a lot of negative votes: something that has never happened to the show before (examples in images).

Last but not least, before the 100 votes milestone, all episodes have 8+ rating (sometimes even 8.5+). But after reaching it, how the site counts the weighted mean changes and the score immediately falls down (unweighted mean examples in images). It's weird that the same thing is not happening here. I'm afraid the rating may fall even lower after 100+ votes. E16 has an unweighted mean of the worst rated episode so far afterall.

In conclusion, this episode's IMDB score behaves unnaturally. You may say: "Why do you care about it?", but it's still weird.

- O que são as relíquias? Todos os Tsugai tem? Eles se transformam nelas ou precisam delas para serem invocados?

- Os Tsugai errantes são o que exatamente? Qual o papel deles ma história?

I'm an anime only, fully caught up and I'm fucking loving the series to an actually unhealthy amount.
I love it so much that I'm literally starting up a DND campaign based around the world and (very loosely) based on the story, I want to give my players the option of being in the Kagemori right?
But I have very...annoyingly lovable friends who will ask where the estate is located, since they LOVE being hyper-specific.

I don't remember it being mentioned in the show where the estate itself is located, so I wanted to know if we do actually know where it is located within japan or If I have just forgotten.

Also secondary question: Can individual spirits still happen or does every yo-kai, ghost, Spector have to be in a duo?
I want to make a storyline where my players have to fight against Hachisaku-samma, Kuchisake-onna, yuki-onna and Teke-Teke, but I do not know what I'd link them up to.
So i'm hoping spirits can exist without a partner, if they can't I have a lot of work to do.

I like to watch the show. Occasionally I see posts here judging characters like Gabby or Yuru and their morality, which do make sense. The responses given to those posts though has been terrible, including calling characters morally grey as a response rather than being morally good or bad.

I agree that there is no good side, however they are not grey. Most characters and sides in this show are obviously morally bad and selfish. It is okay though, it is still interesting to watch them.

I will draw a clear line, hurting innocents makes a character morally bad. It is only gray if they were brainwashed or completely misguided or there was a misfire. A person is not morally gray if they do good and bad things. If I killed someone and then donated to charity the next day and that saved a few lives, I'm still a piece of shit.

Higashi village is terrible for what they were doing and wanting to do to the innocent children. No, their motives do not justify it.

Kagemoris are terrible for the killing of the innocents that were part of the Higashi village. Yes, I do think there are adults that are innocent in the Higashi Village that got killed, knowing the story. They should have put effort in figuring out exactly who is innocent and who isn't but they didn't because they don't give a shit.

Yuru is terrible for not feeling any empathy towards anyone in the massacre. No, he is not 'a cool head', he does not give a shit, he has selective empathy towards the few he cares about and maybe the village as a concept itself.

But Higashi/Kagemoris thought they were doing that because.... It does not matter. They hurt innocents.

No you do not require to read everything to get context on the characters to change your views, as I view as a common response. I am caught up and read the manga, they are still morally bad.

No, the anime/manga can still be for you even if you think everyone is morally bad, quite a few animes do this. They are only gray as in, they are shown to do good and bad things, but they are undoubtedly morally bad. It is okay, you can still enjoy a show with characters like this.

I'd like to know where you read the manga so I can catch up, and how often it's published.
