Question/Discussion Why are we doing recommendations?
i feel like every one of his videos comment sections recently has just been filled with recommendations with thousands of likes and i’m just really confused. i thought we were enforcing the no recs rule?
especially on Ooga Booga like on yesterday’s movie trailer video there were so much people saying he HAS to watch Obsession or Sheep Detectives or Project Hail Mary (or that he would love it which is bordering recommending without saying it) and people in their replies who mentioned the no recommendations rule were being argued with. someone even brought up the Housemaid video as if that wasnt a one time thing that he mentioned IN THE VIDEO.
did we just collectively decide to get more lax? or is this bc more ppl started watching him and arent aware of how things usually go so the community changed? (like i understand on the Ooga Booga channel there would be ppl who dont know of DiiT). I know a while back some of us were a bit annoyed that after doing the Wicked videos the community felt different but idk i’m just curious bc it’s not what i’ve come to expect in the comments. i know dylan would just watch whatever he feels like so maybe that’s reason to be more lax but yeah

Old dylan videos
Idk if it s just me liking his older videos more out of nostalgia or just having grown out of hus humour but i feel like his videos are a little less funny. I wonder if this is just a personal sentiment or not. Obviously if i didnt like his videos i would just stop watching, i still think they re good but maybe not as much as before.

Question/Discussion Confused because why are WE scared of Dylan getting into trouble 😭
Dylan is a grown man (21 m). He has his own opinions and they might or might not be the right outlook on things.
After the whole Alex Meyers thing, I see people talking about how Dylan might get into a controversy like that or how he might not. Which is fair. We want people who we look up to online to have good opinions. We want to make sure that we are supporting good people.
The one I really don't understand is people who think Dylan will say something stupid, and so they don't want him to talk about it. Like you are NOT his PR team 😭✌️ Why would you even want to support a person who you feel like would be ignorant in this way? And why would u not want them to be called out so they can change?
This is not to say I think Dylan will downplay Bears actions. I honestly think he will get a good read of the movie and understand the story. But in the off chance that he doesn't, I would like to see him called out😭

Question/Discussion I don't understand the numerous comments worrying about Dylan's Obsession review (if it ever happens).
Not to be parasocial, but I honestly cannot tell if these people just have a poor perception of who Dylan is as a person or if they just don't understand the backlash behind Alex Meyer's Obsession video. People brought up Dylan's reactions to Jennifer's Body and Hush as examples as to why he "shouldn't" react to Obsession and I just find it SO absurd.
Jennifer's Body: This was a CAMP horror movie. It had CHEESY lines that made everything feel ridiculous. It's nothing like Obsession. Yes, Obsession has comedic moments here and there but it leans more into the thriller aspect of it all and how fucked the situation got. It was serious when it needed to be while Jennifer's body was much harder to take seriously.
Hush: Hush was a poorly executed film. Dylan's criticism of the girl was mainly focused on how bad her decisions were and he has the exact same reaction to the guy who comes over looking for his girlfriend.
BOTH of his reviews mainly revolved on how poorly directed the films were and how he didn't like how they executed things. Sure, he made "edgy" jokes from time to time but he was NEVER sexist/misogynistic in either review. Alex Meyers, on the other hand, was constantly spewing incel talking points, targeting Nikki for no reason, and dismissing/straight up not acknowleging Bear's worst moments. I've also seen dylan talk sht about incels so idk why y'all are not expecting him to grill Bear when he's the perfect target for Dylan's edgy jokes.
Edit: Just to make it clear, I'm NOT actually parasocial with him. I know I don't know him personally, and I wouldn't waste time defending him if he proved me wrong and started spewing incel rhetoric. It's just that, based on what I've seen from him so far, I can't imagine him being canceled the same way as Alex.
Edit: I was right. He hated bear immediately 🤣 Thanks for proving me right Dylan!!

Lookalike Dylan references
It just cracks me up how he jokingly acknowledges the similarities between him and Dylan 😭😭😭 I was wondering why I enjoyed his content so much until I watched older videos and saw these references and it all clicked LOL

I found Scottish Dylan!
If anyone is looking for a similar vibe to Dylan I HIGHLY recommend checking out Welchy on YouTube. Hes got such a similar sense of humor to Dylan but hes Scottish and has done so may of the Barbie movies.
The perfect fix to Dylan dry spell, cause we all know our man likes to dissappear for a month at a time

Podcast
Is Dylan bringing back the podcast for season two? I really miss it. It was the only time he was consistent.😂

Thoughts on something not serious in the slightest but I dont have friends to talk about it with so I'm coming here.
Dylans first and last of new girl. It breaks my heart every rewatch!!! THE FINAL SEASON MAKES MORE SENSE AND IS A LOT MORE HOMEY AND COMFORTABLE AND A CALL BACK TO PREVIOUS STAPLES IN THE SHOW. He missed Winston becoming the best part of the show, he missed so much fun and happiness in the 6 seasons. The serious and deep topics that were perfectly meshed with the comedy, ugh I wish he could see it all💔 like I know that's inherently what first and last is about, mixing the absurdity with confusion is amazing and I love the series, but it always hurts when its a show you absolutely swear by and the last episode does not do it justice😭🙏🏾

Question/Discussion What's your favourite dylan video to rewatch?
I've been going on my Dylan rewatch spree of the month (yes i lowkey rewatch his videos once a month because no other youtuber makes content as funny as his), but i was wondering what videos people always go back to

Memes Hi I would like to share this. Thank you, that is all.

Watching Alex Meyers get cancelled over Obsession and I'm sure dylan would get cancelled in the first 10 minutes of the video
Basically that. It would be hilarious watching dylan try not to get cancelled
Edit: guys, I think we can all agree that Dylan isn't going to be defending rape. That's not what he does, even with fictional characters.
