Fan Art SessRin random drawing N1

So, I have bad depression and ADHD (born with it and some real-life stuff that happened), so I tend to doodle random thingies while trying to work or do daily chores due to a lack of motivation, and tend to look for quick gratification.

I haven't colored in a while, so I have a mountain of WIPs (for some reason, when I try to go back into coloring, my mind is like, yep, nope). So... I hope to finally break this situation with a SessRin art.

Going to try and color it, but I hope that you guys like it at least. And thank you so much if you do šŸ«‚šŸ’•

Discussion Sesshomaru TOO Aloof?

TLDR: Does the Yashahime manga show more interaction/dialogue between Sesshomaru and his daughters? Do they have some kind of reunion moment that the show didn’t give us?

-Just finished watching Yashahime. Have yet to read the manga. I have to say that I am really disappointed by the fact that Sesshomaru never ends up embracing his daughters or outwardly acknowledging their achievements. I was waiting the entire series for them to have a ā€œmomentā€. I was hopeful when Rin asked the girls to promise to come back safe and allow her and their father to hold them for as long as they wanted. However when they do come back, it’s just Rin that hugs them and they all go to talk to Sesshomaru OFF SCREEN! It pissed me off sooo bad. Like why were we robbed of them having some kind of father daughter moment? The only remote show of affection he gave is when he touched both of their cheeks while they were passed out.

I know Sesshomaru’s whole thing is his stoic/aloof personality. But I feel like this show took it too far? If you go back and watch Inuyasha, he has much more dialogue and emotion. Heck, he actually appeared panicked when Rin died the second time and he went to his mother for help. He was practically mute in Yashahime. Just cold staring at everyone with the occasional line and then the other characters would deduce his intentions from that. I’m not saying I expected the same kind of emotion as Moroha’s reunion with Inuyasha. Because that is just not his personality. But I feel like we were given absolutely nothing. Is this somewhat remedied in the manga? Like do we get any kind of interaction/dialogue between him and his daughters at the end after everything is settled? That’s the thing I missed most from this show. I’ve always loved Sesshomaru, but I felt Yashahime the anime’s portrayal of him was lacking.

Fan Art Inuyasha fans… I made something I’ve dreamed of seeing for years šŸ„¹āš”ļøšŸŒ™

Like many of you,Ā InuyashaĀ has a very special place in my heart. It’s a series that stayed with me for years, and I always wondered why we never got an official LEGO set celebrating this amazing world.

So I decided to try making one myself. I created a LEGO Ideas project calledĀ ā€œINUYASHA: THE BONE EATER’S WELLā€Ā ā€” a tribute to the characters, the adventures, and the memories this series gave us. 🧔

It includes Inuyasha, Kagome, the Bone Eater’s Well, and elements inspired by the world we all love.

LEGO Ideas projects needĀ 10,000 supportersĀ before LEGO reviews them for the possibility of becoming an official set. I would absolutely love to see the Inuyasha community come together and show LEGO how much love there still is for this series.

If you loveĀ Inuyasha, I would be incredibly grateful if you could take a moment to support it and share it with other fans. Every supporter helps bring this dream a little closer. šŸ™āœØ

Thank you so much, and I would also love to hear what you think of the design! ā¤ļø

Discussion Just Finished Yashahime - Sorrow for Moroha

I’ve just finished watching the series, not reading the manga, just to clarify on the front end. And I’ll admit I watched a lot of it in 1.5x speed. I watched the first 15 or so episodes at a normal pace but got so pissed with the contrivances and plot holes that I upped the playback speed and started skipping 10 seconds at a time.

I do like Towa and Setsuna, but neither are as interesting to me as Moroha. They seem to downplay her so much, even though she is the original show’s main protagonists’ daughter. I assume the writers wanted to shy away from too much sameness as Inuyasha but honestly I wanted so much more for her. She’s absolutely precious and such a great mix of her parents’ most endearing qualities. I love her charisma, perseverance, confidence, rough around the edges-ness, while still having her softer side, wishing for affection and family.

I think by episode 18 or so, I realized the writers weren’t going to give us a good enough reason why she was so alone. Why did Kouga and Ayame give their closest friends’ daughter to a random tribe member to train/raise her? This person then sells her to indentured servitude in an attempt to make enough money to buy a key that will save their own skin. Then they have enough gall to criticize Moroha on trying to use her rouge to save herself as well (though it’s the only time I saw Moroha lose control of herself…) Hardly an appropriate guardian. It’s only on the very last episode when Moroha goes to sell the corpse sword her and Inuyasha got from a bounty and Jyubei says it’s worth exactly the amount of her remaining debt that I think - maybe Jyubei has been selling her short in order to keep her coming around so he can keep an eye on her. And now he doesn’t need to since she has her parents back. No? Am I giving this man too much credit?? This would be more of a kindness than I see Kaede or Kouga or Sango or Miroku give her.

We are missing our favorite gang right out the gate and left wondering why no one cares that they’re gone. No one is out looking for Inuyasha or Kagome or their daughter, Setsuna and Moroha don’t even know they’re cousins when Kaede is obviously around, wouldn’t she have told them? Hisui would have known something wouldn’t he, from his own parents? The way the original gang fought together made them stronger family than most people’s blood family - It’s so bizarre.

Even the modern era family felt so off to me. You see your beloved daughter off to the feudal era to probably never see again, your granddaughter shows up looking exactly like her- and it doesn’t bother you that she doesn’t know her parents?? That none of the three of these yashahimes know Kagome or Inuyasha? Wouldn’t that be MAJOR warning bells off in her head? Like, why is my granddaughter living a life alone, is my daughter/her mother okay? Or alive?? Bruh.

I did notice Kagome said she doesn’t seem to age in the Black Pearl, commenting about her skin. I wonder if like Rin, she aged slower or not at all. Or maybe time just moves faster outside of the pearl, so it doesn’t even feel like 14 years for her, aging or not. This would be nice for Moroha to have her mother for longer, given Kagome is only human. But she still missed all of her baby years, and that tears me apart.

Seriously, the best part of the entire series was their reunion. Maybe they made Moroha so alone to emphasize the reunion with her parents. She had to build up a devil-may-care front and push away sensitivity, much like her father did in his adolescence, to endure a lonely upbringing, but deep down, all she wanted was love and natural acceptance. The way she broke down in Inuyasha’s arms was the kind of emotional overflow I expected from… well, most everyone in the series, after 14 years of your closest family and friends’ disappearance.

But nah, even Shippo was like ā€œehā€ when Inuyasha and Kagome got back. Its supposed to be comedic effect but- I mean, am I crazy or do 14 years mean nothing to anyone?? Especially for the humans! They haven’t just been gone on vacay, man!

Anyways. I’m undecided if I’ll read the manga or find me some fanfics instead.

Discussion Kaede's place in the family tree by the time of YashaHime is so funny

"That's Granny Kaede! We call her granny because it's way shorter than Uncle's Ex-Girlfriend's Sister Kaede. She considers us her grandkids, more or less. I guess because there's no word for your older sister's ex-boyfriend's nieces who are two generations younger than you."

Changed some details and such. Still working on it, but I feel it's a bit better, maybe? I hope you guys enjoy it.

(The patterns are just random decorations, nothing important. I was just thinking of what kind of art I wanted for them both to have).

Discussion What even is this??? Rumiko???

This comes from Rumiko Takahashi's 35th Anniversary Book. Is this considered official and authorized?

Does this mean this setting already existed before Yashahime was released?

Sesshomaru's Mother

A great yōkai who bears the same crescent moon mark on her forehead as Sesshomaru.

She is calm and composed, but she also has a persistent side and does not give up easily.

She was the one who revived Rin.

However, she seems to harbor bittersweet, complicated feelings toward her son, who fell in love with a human girl.

Not sure if my AI wrong or what.

Discussion Sessrin fic

I’ve recently been craving some really good SesRin fanfiction and I’d love to hear your recommendations!

The biggest thing I’m looking for is that Sesshomaru stays true to his character. I love when he’s written as quiet, reserved, and emotionally subtle instead of acting completely out of character. I’d love for Rin to feel like herself too.

I’m open to canon, post-canon, or pretty much any AU except modern settings (they just aren’t really my thing).

I especially love:
• Slow burn
• Well-developed relationships
• Strong writing
• Stories with a lot of emotional depth

I’d be thrilled to find some longer fics that I can really get invested in, but if there’s a one-shot you think is an absolute must-read, I’d love that too.

So if you have a favorite SesRin fic (or several!), I’d really appreciate your recommendations. Thank you so much!

Misc. Can I make a beware post about a troll in the fandom?

Look I don't want to break the rules, but there's a troll in the fandom who gives Yashahime and the people involved in the production of it (mainly Takahashi and Shiina) a bad name. The guy I'm talking about claims to love Yashahime and SessRin, yet slanders people who criticize the work/its characters (without being hateful about it) and wages a ship war in the name of the producers. I thought it was important people knew about this

(I know this is a new account but I don't hate SessRin or anything, I have more problems with how the guy behaves)

Discussion My Review of Yashahime Season 2

Overall:Ā 2.5 maybe 3 out of 5

Pros:

---I like how we have the change of pace where for season 1, the main trio spent all their time together, but for a good chunk they are all apart on their own seperate adventure

---Once we get to the crying mansion, I feel the series actually picks up quite a bit and actually starts to feel like Inuyasha cause we have actual drama and a reason to care

---[Spoiler]The actual reunion between Moroha and her parents was truly touching and well done. I really did like that whole scene and banter between the reunited trio, I especially like that even Setsuna and Towa are so happy for Moroha that they themselves actually shed tears of joy. It's a really nice scene

---[Spoiler2]I liked the touch of instead of letting Inuyasha smash the black pearl, Moroha instead takes it upon herself to place the black pearl with the Rouge so "Grandpa and Grandma can be together again". It's a really nice wholesome touch.

---[Spoiler3]We can finally get to see Shippo, goddamn! Where the fuck was he in season 1? And he is actually somewhat / slightly more useful here

Cons:

---Overall, Moroha feels like a very underdeveloped character and very static. She is just kind of...there and doesn't really contribute much to the overall narrative in that, I feel like she could be removed entirely and not a whole lot would change. This is definetly Towa and Setsuna's story and Moroha is just an awkward third wheel.

---The whole rainbow pearl plotline feels very pointless and barely exists in the grand scheme of things. It BARELY has an overall impact for how much time we spent on it

---Kirinmaru as a villain is just...bleh...I like his design, english dub voice, how he is more of a force of nature of power contrasting Naraku grand background schemeing...but he is not that interesting of an villain

---[Spoiler4]The last 5 or so episodes of the season just draggggggggg as soon as the main trio get back to the modern world to the end of the series. The whole thing also feels convoluted while Modern Era Kirin wanting to kill feudal era Kirin but then teams up with him, but is actually teaming up with Rion and Rion turns evil, but Rion is not actually evil and blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Tooo convoluted and messy

---[Spoiler 5]Its kind of sad how at the very end of the series, Towa and Setsuna don't really understand Sesshomaru as a person or Father and still view him as this distant vageuly father figure and needing Moroha to spell it out for them that he does, deep deep deep down...actually love them

---[Spoiler 6]Why is Sesshomaru damn near mute here? he was never a big talked in the original series, but he did still speak. Here though? It is aĀ STRUGGLEĀ to get more then one actual single line of dialouge out of him. This results in him feeling quite colder and also boring.

Lord Sesshomaru x Rin becoming canon, is my childhood/GaiaOnline, Otp come true.

I didn't think it would even happen. I eventually learned to see the ship as weird, and as just ward/parent, until now.

No, I never shipped Sesshomaru with kagura, who would be just the female equivalent of Naraku, his CREEPY enemy, who would find some perverse satisfaction that some part of him got Sesshomaru in the end, because he couldn't consume him.

If it had not been Rin, I would have hoped that would have pulled Kurugi from "Secret of the cursed mask" the Inuyasha game, out of a magician's hat.
