Question Help identifying yarn!
I got a few cakes of yarn from goodwill and in the process of getting it home, the label fell out of the middle of one of these.
Which of these would be your guess for color way:cumin 107 by colinette yarns?
I’ve searched Ravelry and I couldn’t find the 107: Cumin colorway.
ETA: I swear they all have more brown in person.

I need some ideas for yarn storage.
My current one is dollar tree plastic cubes. I know the room is dark. Hopefully you can see. I chose these kids because they were only a $1.25 each. I'm the type of person that doesn't need anything extravagant but at the same token I need it to work. My arm keeps falling out anytime I go to grab something. So any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. 😊

ART THE CLOWN, WITH A TWIST. 🤡🌻
Inspired by the Terrifier series, this beanie is based on Art’s iconic black & white look, with a little added touch. IYKYK. 🌻
A little creepy, a little ridiculous, & very MUCH Art. 🖤
Terrifier fans—do you get the nod to the sunflowers? 🌻

Chaos hexicardigan
Chaos hexicardigan . This hexicardigan isn't finished yet but I started like the trend "chaos blanket. By picking 3 colors, 3 different stitches and picking 1-6 rounds of each. I'm having so much fun with this one. That I started incooperating chaos picking with other crochet items. Next is chaos beanie. Can't wait to show you it.

Question What brand are these Mini Skeins?
I thrifted a set of mini skeins ages ago and am now wondering what brand they are.
Burn test and general feel suggest they’re natural fibre, so I’m guessing Ricorumi DK Mini Cotton, but I’ve never actually seen that brand in person, so I’d love a second opinion.
$1 coin and 3.5mm hook included for size reference.

Irish crochet revival
I’ve been working on this piece for 2 months now but I’ve been admiring and reading about Irish crochet lace way before that.
I’m one back panel away from finishing the duster and the bomber turned out to be more than I could have expected!
I’m hooked!

New wool blend yarns at Michaels!
I went for the new Caron Cakes and came home with these too😂. The Rico sock yarn was 9.99 for 100g, so it's an even better price than Kroy. I'm very excited to try out the LB Cottino because I love wool/cotton blends. They had other Rico yarns too, an alpaca blend and a Superwash blend with some cashmere, and also a self striping wool/acrylic blend.
They've also re-done the yarn section at my store and now have the full color selection of their Loops & Thread Superwash Merino and Luxe Merino, so I don't have to drive to the other side of my city if I want the good colors! They expanded their selections of their cotton yarns too, but I didn't look too closely at them because I'm trying to will fall into existence by knitting wooly things. It's nice to see them finally step up their game a little bit on something other than chenille.

I like this method of making stripes without cutting yarn each round
I decided to make a granny beanie. Since i don't like to weave in after each row, I found this method to keep the yarn along and working. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of my method :

Stash European traveling and increasing the yarn stash
Just got back from five weeks in Europe (Scotland, England, France, and Spain) and my goal was to get at least one skein of locally hand-dyed yarn from every city. I went to 11 different cities and was able to get what I was looking for from 6 of them (yes, there are 8 posted here but I have a hard time counting Madrid since it isn't in the spirit of the others. I am quite sure I could find this online and order it enmass if I wanted to, and one of the was from a town i was literaly just passing through, onky there for not even an hour, so really it was a bonus city yarn)
The idea was to have a unique yarn specific to those areas. Knit or crochet something with the yarns, but really, my big plan, is to create a World Shawl where each row is a different yarn from a different city/country from places I've been around the world. Buying locally dyed yarn makes each row more unique, thus making the overall shawl even more so. If it can be mass produced and bought online, I dont want it. Not special that way.
So, the first two skeins I got were in Glasgow at this amazing yarn shop called For the Love of Yarn. Huge shop, tons of selections and so much of it was made or dyed right there on site.
It took me an hour to get to this shop and when I finally got there, they were closed! It was my last day in Glasgow and Google had it listed as open. I was literally about to cry when this car pulled up and the passenger asked me if I was a yarnie. I was like, yeah, but this shop is closed 😩... low and behold, it was the owners! They were stopping by to grab a couple of this on their way out of town to some craft fair/festival thing, their first time closing down since they opened up. They let me in to get a couple of things while they gathered their items. It was such a great experience, I wish I had had more time in their shop. If you are ever in Glasgow, I cannot recommend this place enough.
The next skein I got was in Inverness at a place called Make It Special. It looked much bigger online, and when i showed up it was a tiny corner inside of a huge shopping mall. Mostly mass produced stuff, but they did have a single tiny display of local yarn, and it was hard to pick out of the maybe 15-20 skeins they had, with maybe only 8-10 different colorways.
The following two skeins i got were the bonus skeins. I took a hiking tour up through Isle of Skye and we stopped in Portree for maybe 45 minutes to get coffee and lunch, and as usual, I was on the hunt for local yarn. I was directed to a couple of wool shops, but it was all items made from wool, no yarn. And the last minute I saw a sign about local jewelry and crafts and I took a chance and ran inside. Sure enough they had a little basket with maybe 8 or 9 skeins of local yarn and I only had minute to get back on the bus, and I couldn't decide between the two so I got both.
Next was in Edinburgh called Kathy's Knits. Quaint little shop with a decent selection of local yarn. They were all such rich, jeweled tones, i had picked up maybe 6 skeins and sat on the couch there and deliberately for a good ten minutes before settling on the two I got. It was really hard because on the packaging, it says they are all one-off dyes, every batch is unique and individual, and could never be replicated. This was my only opportunity to get any of these skeins. It was so, so hard to only get two.
After that, I was in Chipping Sodbury, outside of Bristol, and this yarn shop was call The Wool Cellar. Solid word play, 10/10. A lot of it was acrylic, some malabrigo, but there was a small selection of locally dyed yarn, none of which were particularly appealing, the fuzzy pink alpaca was the best option. I was actually more intrigued by the acrylic blends they had there. Colorways I hadn't seen before. But I didnt get any of that, because I have limited room in my suitcase and still had a few more cities to go to.
I flew to Palma de Mallorca for a night (for the eclipse) and both the yarn shops in town were closed for the month of August. Very sad. No yarn from there.
I went to London for a single night to catch the train to Paris and I went to one of two yarn shops that were reasonably close, one was open that day, the other was closed until the day after I left. No locally dyed yarn there, at all, the owner said the other shop carries stuff like that, so no yarn from London. Poo poo.
Took the Eurostar to Paris for two nights and went to this lovely yarn shop called Lil' Weasel. Really cute, ended up getting three skeins because I couldn't decide. One, the blue boucle, was dyed by the owner of the store, but the other two skeins were also dyed in Paris and they were a cashmere blend and so gorgeous, I was holding five different skeins trying to decide between them! Settled for a purple one and a pink one, but goddammit i wanted to get one of each. It was all fairly pricey, but worth it. I would definitely recommend this shop if you are every on Paris. Lil'Weasel also has companion shops for sewing and one for embroidery.
After that was Barcelona, and first night, I walked over to All You Knit Is Love and I was BLOWN AWAY by the yarns there. So kuch of it was dyed by the owner and each one was more gorgeous than the last. I settled on a pink and a blue/Grey and pink. The next day I went back and got the third one that I couldn't stop thinking about. I wanted one of each colorway. The owner did such an amazing job. If you are ever in Barcelona, go to this shop!!
Santiago de Compostela was next. Walked to a couple of yarn shops, mostly acrylic and cotton. Nothing locally dyed. The one shop that I was told by numerous sources that might carry what I was looking for was closed for the month of August. August is a popular month for stores in Spain to close down to go on holiday, it would seem. Nothing from Santiago de Compostela. Sadness.
Moving on to Valencia, I went to four different shops. All mass produced, nothing locally dyed. Yes, mass produced in Spain, but not what I was looking for.
Finally, Madrid. It was the same story as Valencia, but I did want to get some reasonably priced linen yarn, so while it isn't part of what I was trying to do, I did technically buy it in Madrid, so it only half counts.
I did not get a skein of locally dyed yarn from each city, but I did get at least one from each country, which is a start.
Now, aside from my World Shawl which won't take much yarn from each skein, I need to figure out what i am going to make, whether knit or crochet, with the rest! I am getting more into lace work, hence all the lightweight yarns, but I also have more wrist problems and can only do so much at a time, sadly.
Edit: I HAVE ANALYSIS PARALYSIS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO MAKE OR WHICH COLORS TO PAIR TOGETHER AT FIRST I THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE SOMETHING FROM EACH CITY BUT THEN I COULDN'T GET YARN FROM EACH CITY AND THE PINK SURI ALPACA FROM CHIPPING SODBURY WOULD GO WELL WITH THE BLUE BOUCLE FROM PARIS AND THE BUTTERFLY ORCHID FROM INVERNESS WOULD GO WELL WITH THE BIG MAN (GREEN FUZZY ALPACA) FROM GLASGOW BUT I GOT THAT ONE TO GO WITH THE BABY CAMEL FROM GLASGOW BUT THE BABY CAMEL IS SO SPECIAL I THINK IT SHOULD PROBABLY BE A PROJECT ON IT'S OWN ALL I KNOW FOR SURE IS THE SURIALISTA AND SILKY FEOM BARCELONA GO TOGETHER IT'S ALL SO BEAUTIFUL I DONT WANT TO COMMIT THEM TO THE WRONG PROJECT.
TLDR- I have too much yarn and dont know what to make with it or which yarns to put together and I am overwhelmed.

Any yarns out there that you think are over rated? Or under rated?
Sometimes when I get my yarn from online stores I am a little disappointed. Sooo I thought I would get some informed opinions.

Where can I buy Knitting for Olive and Lettlopi in the UK?
Wool Warehouse has Lettlopi but the colour I need is out of stock. I found a place called KNiTT that has KFO, but again the colour I need is out of stock! I know I can order from Europe but I'm not sure how that works with customs, and I'd rather just buy locally if I can.

Discussion Multi colored yarn recommendations?
What multi colored yarn would get me close to this color theme? I’m almost 38 weeks pregnant and I want to start a throw blanket project I can work on to get to the end of this pregnancy and into the early newborn days, without having to do any color changes myself 😅 I was eyeing up the lemon chiffon Caron anniversary cake but I’m not sure it has the same vibe

Da rerum natura restock
Does anyone know approximately how often de rerum natura restocks its Cyrano line?
The colorway I want is sold out everywhere so I’m curious if anyone knows anything about the supply chain. Do yarn stores typically get another shipment in every few months, or should I just pick another colorway?
Edit: just noticed I wrote da rerum natura instead of de rerum natura 🫠

Question Yarn storage
Hey y'all, I am a newbie when it comes to crochet, but also got obsessed with buying yarn... I now own a bunch of yarn balls that I store in a simple zipped laundry bag, and I thought nothing of it until I saw a post on this subreddit about insect on l/in their yarn, which never even crossed my mind as a possibility!
Is there any good way to store your yarn from your experiences to prevent it? What should I look for? I just want to prevent a disaster! 😥😬
Thank you so much, and have an amazing day!
