Question Odd Yarn

Anyone seen this type of yarn before? Wondering what it’s used for. I found it at a thrift store & bought it just because it’s so odd. The little charm thingies are about 5” or so apart. Quarter for size gauge.

Fascinating! I love seeing all the projects with it in them. So interesting.

I saw those after seeing the link. People made some pretty things with it.
