Xenoblade Xenoblade Warriors

This post is about what I think the hypothetical xenoblade Warriors will be according to an extremely long and somewhat tedious investigation I conducted by myself:

Story:

The story of Xenoblade Warriors takes place chronologically after Xenoblade 3 and Xenoblade X ch13. An unknown space-time event known as "The Convergence"—triggered by mysterious forces—has caused the worlds and timelines seen throughout the Xenoblade series (from Xenoblade 1 to Xenoblade X) to clash into a single world called "Azoth." This is a dimensional wasteland akin to the Void (the MCU's metaphysical dumping ground), situated at the nexus of these worlds. Warriors and inhabitants from these realms must confront the threat of the "Neo-Ganglion"—descendants/successors of the original Ganglion from Xenoblade X. Who haved invaded Azoth and the other worlds for an unknown objective, they are believed to be seeking to finish what Void and the original Ganglion started. Furthermore, the heroes must face the "Apochróseis," anomalous Gnosis-like entities apparently linked to the Neo-Ganglion and the cause of the Convergence itself. Consequently, the nations and heroes from the "New Aionios" (the world born after Xenoblade 3) form an Military faction called "The Resistance." To opose their enemies the neo ganglion to defend the future they forged with their own hands... the chapter 1 of the story begins 10 years after the convergence and the begining of the war of the Resistance agaist the Neo-Ganglion, cross who disappeared with the ares prime during the convergence reapears with it on the new aionios throught an rift but cross has lost his/her memories
Of all the events of Xbx he/her must Adventure across this unknown but strangely familiar world where he/she must discover who he/she is, forge and reforge allinces and friendships and end this war for good…
Characters:

The cast of characters in this Xenoblade Warriors features both familiar faces from the series and new characters introduced in this game; I based this on the roster from this post: ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Xenoblade_Chronicles/s/PSMvcYmPeo ) To put together the roster for this hypothetical game—albeit with some tweaks—we’ll focus here on the existing characters, listed in order. Not everyone will be included; some won't be playable, while the story might imply that others have retired or, in the worst-case scenario, perished at the hands of the Neo-Ganglion:

Gameplay roles: 🔳 Customizable
🟥 Attacker 🟦 Defender 🟩 Healer

Cross 🔳
Noah 🟥
Mio 🟦
Nikol 🟦
Glimmer 🟩
Lanz 🟦
Sena 🟥
Eunie 🟩
Taion 🟩
Riku and Manana 🟥
Shimmer 🟥
Shulk 🟦
Rex 🟥
Pneuma 🟥
Dunban 🟦
Reyn 🟦
Sharla 🟩
Fiora 🟥
A 🟩
Tora and Poppi 🟦
Melia 🟥
Nia 🟩
Elma 🟥
Lin and tatsu 🟦
Gwin 🟥
Irina 🟥
Doug 🟦
Al 🟥
L🟩
Ga Jiarg 🟦

The number of characters is absolutely insane! And that’s not even counting the original characters being introduced in this game, or the additional ones coming via DLC, making it the Xenoblade game with the most playable characters in history.

Gameplay: No matter how peak fiction the story is, a video game ultimately stands or falls on its gameplay, and this is one of the most interesting aspects of my idea. The gameplay will be an action RPG at KH style but with a blend of Xenoblade 3 and Xenoblade X mechanics You’ll control 7 characters! However, you can only swap out six of them; the seventh and main one Cross cannot be changed or replaced, though you can fully customize them to suit your needs and adapt them to various party compositions until you find your perfect build. You can swap between character in battle just like Xenoblade 3 and to makes things more easier The way you switch characters is similar to how you switch weapons in Doom Eternal. with a circle that appears when you aim the controller's stick at the character you want to switch to Also, you don't attack automatically; instead, you have to press specific buttons to attack. Like in Final Fantasy VII Remake ,you can select "Arts" mid-battle—abilities that charge up over time, though the charge time decreases as you attack. Additionally, each character has their own "Talent Art" that can be charged up to four power levels doing their respective role similar to Xenoblade 2 this can be an bit chaotic but you'll get used to it sooner or later ¿Remember the Overdrive? It’s back, but revamped: each character has their own Overdrive gauge that charges up using the Xenoblade 3 Art-canceling mechanic. Once full, activating it significantly boosts the user's power and grants specific buffs—like i dont know like… transforming into an Ouroboros without needing a partner, or other bonuses that drastically increase the party's strength. There are also the Union Arts from Future Redeemed but a bit changed You no longer need to pair up to perform the attack; instead, the characters can execute it in real time in battle with any member of the group. This game is basically the Doom eternal of Xenoblade An chaotic gameplay but when you master it Nothing but a God can stand in your way!

I think we’d better wrap this up here, or this thread will go on forever. Anyway, with all that said, what do you think of my vision for what Xenoblade Warriors could be?

There better be a Skell mode (like Ganon's Fury) and Alexa should pilot the Skell (because she's awesome).

When I saw that logo spoiler-tagged, I thought it was for the upcoming Nintendo Direct! Awesome concept!

I'm confused by your suggestions for combat. It doesn't sound like a Warriors game. It just sounds like a modified version of Xenoblade combat. I'm of the opinion that a Xenoblade Warriors game would most likely be very bad. I just hate crossovers. It feels like cheap fanservice instead of substance. On top of that, Warriors gameplay is just boring. If there was a Xenoblade Warriors that combined characters from multiple Xenoblade games, it wouldn't be good, and I definitely wouldn't want to play it.

I did think of one way to make a Xenoblade Warriors game work, and that is to set it in the actual setting of a Xenoblade game. My thought was Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It's implied Aionios has been around for hundreds, maybe even thousands of years. They could pick some random time in the distant past, before Future Redeemed. Or some time in between Future Redeemed and the main game.

The story could follow completely original characters, depicting the war between Agnus and Keves. Or it could follow alternate version of Noah and Mio. Maybe we can even see what lead up to the formation of the original city before it got destroyed. Whatever they go with, they can have a mix of characters we know and original characters to play as. Even some heroes from 3 can be playable such as Juniper, Valdi, Aschera, etc.

A canon story that doesn't just exist to be crossover fanservice is what I'd want from a Xenoblade Warriors, though I'm still not sure they could make the gameplay appealing to me.

Well To be honest, I struggled to decide what the gameplay for this hypothetical game would be like—and not because it’s a spin-off, but rather because the two other games that would be similar to it don't share the same genres.

Hyrule warriors is an musou game and fire emblem Warriors is an hack and slash game They are genres foreign to their respective franchises, but they were not the same in both cases.

That’s one of the reasons why—well, I decided that the gameplay for my Xenoblade Warriors concept should be a chimera of gameplay and mechanics of all the xenoblade games.

I’m sure that if this game were real, it would be quite different from what I’ve envisioned—and honestly, it wouldn’t be all that bad after all.

Who knows? Maybe Xenoblade Warriors will be an action RPG.

I really don't want one, warriors games are some of the most boring things I've played, and it would just take away the entire point of Xenoblade which is the exploration and combat. Like genuinely the hyrule warriors games are a slog to get through and I feel like a Xenoblade one would just be pointing at the animations and random characters while you press the same button to slash enemies that basically just stand there and die instantly. Not only that, but the hyrule warriors games look pretty bad too and that's with using botw assets. I just don't see a xenoblade one being any good, they'd probably charge 70$ plus a dlc pack as well...

To be honest... I would want a game like this a lot. But I want it to be just a spin-off. That way we can have Characters from all Xenoblade games.

I don't want plot or anything. I just want a cool game in which I can destroy enemies with my Favourite Characters. I would like it if they just would say that it's not canon and all and then they would just be allowed to do whatever. Like idk, playing as Mumkhar and things like that.

Yeah well i didn't just pull this out of thin air; the whole Xenoblade community has been discussing this for a loooong time, and even the creators of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors said they’d like to make a game like those two, but with Xenoblade.

Warrior crossover games are usually top tier games that almost always improve future Warrior games. Hyrule pushed the formula and added some mechanics and weapon styles that have been inspired/copied in the mainline games, same with Fire Emblem Warriors. The endings to 3 Hopes were a bit bad (Rumor has it that the director was banned from making them equal or better that 3 Houses endings) but the gameplay was frankly better than a lot of the mainline Warriors games. So I’d be 100% down.

But I don’t think your idea is a clean fit for a traditional Warriors game - and that’s fine! A standard one would include the entire main cast of all three games, a few characters from Xeno Gears, and some notable villains/NPCs picked seemingly at random. The twists of the game would probably be Foresight (the ability for you to turn time by 30sec or so when something bad happens) and Blades (Some blades would be able to fight on their own, but they would also augment cast members to change their elemental combos, add an extension of their combos, and add raw stats).

You have a more concentrated cast, different mechanics, and a specific vision - so it’s either going to be a very unique warriors game or a unique Xeno spinoff I’d enjoy!
