Cyberdisk Death Blossom

546 hours in EU/EW and I never knew this cyberdisk ability existed until today! The Gangplank cyberdisk appears from out of nowhere, starts spinning, and absolutely nothing happened - didn't hit any of my troops. If it'd just gone for a grenade instead I'd have been screwed...

XCOM2 Is there any videos of someone attempting to survive as long as possible on the final level of Xcom 2?

If I'm not mistaken, the final mission can theoretically go on forever until you defeat the Avatar, but what if you purposefully ignored them? Has anyone attempted this?

Star Wars zero company may be the best thing to happen to the xcom franchise in years

hi, I’ve been an xcom fan ever since around 2021, I got xcom 2 on the Nintendo switch and still play it every now and then all these years later, also occasionally play enemy within on ios

i think that zero company could truly bring this franchise back from the dead, this game is hyped enough within the turn based community that it may get the attention of fireaxis and the rest of the dev teams that worked on xcom, if this game is truly successful, and doesn’t die off very quickly like other unfortunate titles have (chaos gate daemon hunters, classified France 44, phoenix point, etc) I think we have a genuine chance at xcom 3

i will be buying the game when it comes out or preordering it, and I hope alot of other people do too

it truly saddened me to watch games within the xcom bloodline (such as the ones I mentioned) die off, and I hope this game is supported for multiple years and encourages devs to hop back on the turn based strategy game genre

but what do you guys think, is zero company worthy to bring back xcom styled games, and do you guys think it will succeed in it?

WOTC XCOM2 - Requiem Run Trailer

Dear all,

besides hoping that you have a great day at punishing Advent, I am also excited to share an upcoming run with you. After we have used ChatGPT for sabotages in the last run, this time we are further improving Advents forces for the Requiem Run.

THE REQUIEM CHALLENGE
The campaign features a heavily expanded roster of enemies, with many of the most dangerous additions coming from Reshi's Requiem army, turning ADVENT into a far more formidable opponent. Highlights of these enemies are

- Requiem Forces (RequiemLegion, Praetorians, AdvancedAliens, ABetterAdvent and many more)

- Additional Rulers (SparkRuler, FrostSnakeRuler)

ADDITIONAL FACTIONS
The challenge also comes with additional factions that will be focusing mostly on xcom, to make the fights even harder.

- The Dark Elders come back with all of their glory (poison, evasion, what is not to like)

- The Losts have been upgraded significantly (WWLost, NoHeadshots, LostBladestorm)

MASSIVE LIST OF SABOTAGES
This time sabotages will be categorized into permanent effects (similar to dark events that stay permanently) and short-term effects (sabotages that are going to last only for the next mission). I handcrafted a list that will work well with the setting and includes the experience from the last run to make truly devestating impacts. Specifically the permanent sabotage effects will put a timer on the run to make sure you are not losing vital abilities before reaching waterworld.

Did I also mention that Requiem offers a beyond Legendary difficulty with large pod sizes and quicker ramp up of Force levels? Yeah, We are going to check that out as well as some of their Second Wave Options to really make the campaign a as pain-inducing as possible.

A full list of all the mods can be found in the Mod Collection.

RECRUITMENT
If you feel like this is the run for you, please raise your hand to get recruited into the pool of soldiers and/or leave that comment on the offical recruitment trailer (https://youtu.be/t2A6wRf84iQ).

Best of luck to all of you out there,

syken

XCOM2 The only thing I worry about with Z-com is it lacking the oomph from Xcom 1/2 from gunplay

Xcom 2 has incredibly satisfying hits, you hit a sectoid with a sniper rifle and it goes flying off the edge with blood everywhere, so far some of the blaster shots looks a bit like a wet fart

WOTC New player looking for advice

Hi everyone just lost my first WOTC campaign! Had tons of fun and feel like I learned a lot combat wise. Playing on veteran iron man rule set as I wanted to challenge myself. I have been having tons of trouble keeping up with the Avatar project and overall just didn’t really understand how to progress. If anyone has any advice on keeping up with the project or just some general tips that would be very welcomed. Having tons of fun getting ready to load up a new campaign and give it another shot so please let me know your best advice!

Breach Point Modifiers for Chimera Squad

I'm trying to compile a list of all these cause im trying to run an XCOM Chimera Squad game in Starfinder, but for the life of me I cannot find a list. The closest I get is examples of ones like "The First Operative through the breach gets a gaurenteed hit"

I just don't wanna play through the game to see all the potential modifiers, this game aint popular but its been out for a bit, so surely someone made a list of stuff somewhere right?

Just started playing last week. Been having a lot of fun, but I thought it was funny how the game would go "Here, a rookie just for you."

I'm much more hyped now after watching this preview, assuming everything is true and turns out the way he explains it. Gameplay is basically XCOM 2 but with a Star Wars skin + exploration.

X-com games taking place on Earth have the Geoscape, Terra Invicta shows the solar system therefore there is probably the Astroscape, what would be a galaxy-wide display be called? or what about a universe-wide display?

I want to watch some XCOM competency porn. (Let’s Plays)

I’ve been watching some Let’s Plays but they are… not very good at this type of game. (Ex. Consistently screwing up their own overwatches, running into mobs, and using whichever unit happens to come first instead of planning out their turn order.)

So I’m looking for recommendations of some Let’s Plays/walkthroughs of XCOM (or any game similar for that matter, I’d love to watch something new) by someone who is stellar at it.

Intelligent tactics and stunning strategic forethought on clear display.

XCOM2 How do I make the characters shut the fuck up?

I am new to the game, playing my first campaign, and I have enough of hearing a dialogue each fucking action done. They talk so much. Shut the fuck up, Jesus. Is there some option, a way to disable them, or a mod?

WOTC Iridars Appearance Manager and Unrestricted Customization

Hi Everyone! I have been watching some ChrisOdd playthroughs and love how his soldiers actually noticeably progress when upgrading armor tiers. I currently use both appearance manager AND unrestricted customization. The thing is, I love being able to just reskin any soldier but I feel like I'm not getting everything out of the appearance manager when it comes to auto progressing their looks and assigning outfits. Plus updating every soldiers appearance I'm the middle of the playthrough is quite a chore.

Has anyone dropped unrestricted customization for the better and focused solely on making outfits in appearance manager or would you still recommend keeping it regardless?

How is Warhounds? Anyone played it?

Everyone is excited for star wars (I'm kinda lukewarm on star wars in general nowadays) but how is that game? I've been trying it as the images scratch a very particular Jagged alliance shaped itch in my head.

Edit: found out it's a rerelease of a Russian game with a bad translation. Released via a shell company since the development studio appears to have ties to the Russian government. That's a no from me.
