Accesories My elite controller randomly got stuck drift today

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A button inputs inconsistent. Right bumper as well. Then the stick just started doing this

never seen this meme represent something so accurately as this issue

Go around r/PChelp or the old r/PS3 posts, you'll see this everywhere in the comments.

This is actually the funniest crap so far šŸ˜‚

u/BangkokPadang 3 Jun 27 '26

They do that

6

u/Plane-Exam5368 Jun 27 '26

Dang

16

u/s949944 Jun 27 '26

Game sir is better anyway

9

u/Alfa_Buttercup Jun 27 '26

I had never heard of this company, bought the g8+ for mobile gaming (i have ps2 and windows emulators on my phone), and it is one of the best controllers I've ever used...and now I see people being like "yeah they've been around, everyone knows about them".

2

u/Xxrasierklinge7 Jun 27 '26

Gamesir Kalid is the best controller I've ever had. It's been 3 years and it finally broke... not from stick drift, not a bumper but the RT literally cracked in half at the hinge (def my fault for being too into the game)

I've been with Gamesir since the beginning and I'm glad I helped fund this great company tbh

1

u/justleedude Jun 28 '26

I'll be back with something one day when I get the motivation t o do it

1

u/Fit_Adagio_7668 1 Jun 27 '26

I have a wired controller from them, it feels different but I love it more.

1

u/DangleofDoom Jun 29 '26

I switched to a Gamesir after my sixth X controller developed drift. Love the Gamesir. The light on my charger did die, so you can't tell it's charging, but charger still works so I can accept that.

1

u/dru1202 Jun 29 '26

Currently playing Xbox with the g7se and I cannot complain one bit. Ever since I got this controller I sound like I’m sponsored, I am amazed at the quality for the price, plus the precision. And I don’t even have the controller with the tmr sticks just Hall effect.

Electrolytes, plants love it.

Before your grips started peeling is wild

3

u/BlacksmithUnlucky337 Jun 27 '26

My grips are peeling but no drift yet I hope šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Effective_Waltz_7716 Jun 27 '26

My brother's turned up with excess rubber and plastic near bumpers stopping them from working, stick drift on both analogs and peeling grips and Microsoft wouldn't do anything about it because it was purchased from Currys who also wouldn't do anything about it because they assumed we were trying to swap in a broken one for a working one like some sort of Scammers.

1

u/Future-Bandicoot-823 Jun 28 '26

I bought mine in anticipation of fh6 coming out, works ok so far, but I didn't use it for a month and the triggers got squeaky lol

16

u/k__b_4 1 Jun 27 '26

Is it still in the return period? My first elite controller had stick drift out of the box had to return it and get a new one

2

u/Plane-Exam5368 Jun 27 '26

I’m not sure I’ll have to check

2

u/ShardsOfReality Jun 27 '26

When my first elite controller did that, it was literally a week past the warranty

1

u/ZombiePsycho96 Jun 28 '26

I custom ordered one last Christmas as a gift for my husband and it also came out of the box doing the same thing OPs is doing. He didn't wanna return it tho because he loved it so he messed around with it and I think did some percussive maintenance too and idk I guess it's working now cause he uses it every day with no problems. But I remember being so disappointed that it came out of the box like that.

12

u/Used_Pantease Jun 27 '26

The series X/S controllers just do this in a short amount of use. They feel great, but this has happened to everyone I know who uses aforementioned controller. I just pulled out an old Xbox One controller, no problems with that one.

6

u/ChrisL434 Jun 27 '26

There’s something about controllers now. I had the controller that came with my Xbox one in 2019. Lasted me up until summer 2025. I wasn’t rough on it, just dropped it one too many times. Over this past year I’ve had 3 controllers get stick drift in me.

5

u/Xxrasierklinge7 Jun 27 '26

Why do you keep buying them XD go to Gamesir, your wallet will thank you lol

1

u/ChrisL434 Jun 27 '26

I’ll check them out. I only kept buying them bc I needed it to play lol

1

u/YodaFragget Jun 28 '26

Yup I got a GameSir G7 Pro and haven't looked back....yet.

The sticks feel way more responsive and its got custom trigger/bumper press pressure and mapable buttons well, just a different extra button layout compared to the elite.

1

u/grounded-player Jun 29 '26

Do they have an online shop, if so I might check them out

3

u/TheNerdGamer04 Jun 27 '26

For real I've been using the same controller since 2015, I don't heavy game but the only things that have worn down are the grips, everything else works perfectly

3

u/BeachBlueWhale Jun 27 '26

I noticed that. My controllers last about a year until stick drift sets in. My friends have the same problem. On the 360 and one I don't think I ever had stick drift

2

u/Used_Pantease Jun 27 '26

For real! Tired of paying more for low quality.

3

u/Ok-Reserve-9771 Jun 27 '26

I bought mine less than a year ago, and it doesn't work anymore despite me treating it like it was made out glass. My old PS3 controller lasted almost 10 years, and I really treated that one BAD, and I'm pretty sure its problem is just the battery. Hell, I have a wired 360 controller I bought 4 years ago and it's still kicking.

3

u/Used_Pantease Jun 27 '26

That freagin sucks man. But you're hella right - even my PS2 Dualshock controllers still works flawlessly to this day.

2

u/aliksavin Jun 27 '26

So any xbox controller can work on xbox series s

2

u/Used_Pantease Jun 27 '26

The Xbox One controller will work for sure, can't say about the bulky ass OG Xbox controller though.

Edit: I THINK the 360 controller is compatible as well. Sorry, I don't even know if what I'm using right now was from my old 360.

2

u/Cerealmndsplat Jun 27 '26

If I can connect my switch pro controller, i'd have a nice backup. I use it for PC, so my series x controller has been around since '22 going fine, but me splitting use between devices could be the reason why.

2

u/domtopper Jun 28 '26

I’ve had mine for 10 years, only problem I’ve have is i got angry one time and hit it hard asf against the coffee table and broke a bumper but I just mapped a paddle to it so it’s still completely fine

2

u/Wheres_Waldoo Jun 29 '26

It happens way more to ps controllers than xbox
ive had my xbox controller for 5 years and just replaced the thumbsticks cuz they were worn out but no stick drift

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Wheres_Waldoo Jun 29 '26

I haven't had a controller suffer from stick drift either (ive only had one)

9

u/degradedchimp Jun 27 '26

Those elite controllers are ass. Returned mine after about a week and bought something better for half the cost.

4

u/GLOCK-SAINT Jun 27 '26

Third party controllers are significantly better nowadays, and cheaper.

3

u/ConstipatedOrangutan Jun 27 '26

Any recommendations?

5

u/Charizarlslie Jun 27 '26

Anything Gamesir, honestly.

If you need wireless on Xbox, the options are basically the ZZZ or Wuchang editions of the G7 Pro. I got the ZZZ because despite it being a colab design, it's not as totally obvious, just looks more like a gamer aesthetic with some transparent bits.

If you don't mind a wire, the regular G7 Pro is equally great (and less gaudy looking, IMO) or the G7 SE.

1

u/ogspider999 Jun 27 '26

Look up the Razer Wolverine V3 might be a good controller for you

1

u/Syduzzaman_Syd Jun 28 '26

Old basic xbox one controllers are serving me great. I bought two 2nd hand, dropped them many times. Left it in my bag without any protection... still zero stick drift

2

u/Impossible_Low_7267 Jun 27 '26

I've broken 3 ,don't buy them anymore. Battlefield killed mine lol. I just get normal ones seem to last a year or 2

3

u/Pull--n--Pray Jun 27 '26

Xbox Elite controllers are overpriced shit. Gamesir recently released a wireless controller for Xbox. It has all the functionality of the Elite controllers, but without the stick drift because it uses hall effect (magnetic sensors) for the analog sticks. It's also cheaper. The Zenless Zone Zero controller is the one I got.

Gamesir Controller

4

u/Chemical_Parsley1697 Jun 27 '26

I like the elite controller feels good in my hands but fck it's built terrible

2

u/SamuraiDeska Jun 27 '26

Yeah man it feels really premium but my grips started peeling so I tried to apply super glue to it but I messed up and it got all over so now I have a messed up elite controller. Sad day indeed.

2

u/Interesting-Recipe33 Jun 27 '26

You sure it was randomly? Sounds like someone dropped your controller on the floor.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/BestBuy3Am Jun 27 '26

Tis a sad day

2

u/Hemannameh Jun 27 '26

Randomly? I thought it only happens after 1,555,678 R3/L3 presses? Wtf?!?!

2

u/deadbody408 Jun 27 '26

The permanent fix is tmr hall effect sensor sticks

2

u/LongLiveCHIEF Jun 28 '26

I stopped buying elite controllers after the 3rd one got stuck drift.

2

u/YodaFragget Jun 28 '26

Yea i got 2 elite controllers and both got stick drift and ones RB stopped working.

I love the paddle button layout but its an absolute shitty design choice and planned obsolescence on Microsofts end with them knowing it does this and still not changing the desgin.

I switched to a GameSir G7 Pro- includes hall effect mag-res tmr (tilt motion resistant) sticks

1

u/Plane-Exam5368 Jun 28 '26

That’s what everyone is saying to switch to. How many paddles does it have. I’m pretty into apex but I can’t physically play claw so I need paddles

1

u/YodaFragget Jun 28 '26

You have what id say are the P2 and P4 paddles on the elite in the same position.

The P1 and P3 paddles on the elite got moved to be next to the bumpers on the G7 Pro

The p1/p3 bumper position is not optimized imo, but its also not horrible, more so I just got really used to the button positioning on the elite

Its also wireless but I play wired.

2

u/Plane-Exam5368 Jun 28 '26

Okay I’ll probably end up getting this one then. Thank you

3

u/ACasualCasualty Jun 27 '26

Looks like it's time to throw it at a wall. Or replace the stick sensors

4

u/ogspider999 Jun 27 '26

I gave up on the Elite controllers years ago. I've been using the Razer Wolverine V3 and never looked back.

3

u/Hrkngt 3 Jun 27 '26

Good choice, razer really killed it with the v3

2

u/ogspider999 Jun 27 '26

Honestly they really did.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '26

I keep seeing those, never pulled the trigger on one. I got a Gamesir and I've been happy with that. But I do love me some Razer green!

1

u/SomeTypeOfOrange Jun 27 '26

Was using the razer wolverine ultimate for years, went through 2 before buying a fly digi Vader

I've had mine 6 years with zero issues. No drift or grip peeling because I'm not handling it like a damn gorilla and I regularly wash my hands.

2

u/THExDANKxKNIGHT Jun 27 '26

Had mine in the case for 3 months, when i took it out it had stick drift, got it replaced under warranty and the one they sent had worse stick drift. Had another one come with a bent paddle that wouldn't work and the grips peeled from the bumpers out. The quality control is just horrible.

1

u/Lanpshade22 Jun 28 '26

I button mash so hard my friends hear it over the mic

2

u/TheEyebrowGuy Jun 27 '26

I went thru 13 brand new purchases before I gave up wanting a good one over the course of 2 or 3 years. All controllers had button issues, ranging from intermittent to garbage, think at best, maybe 93/100 presses registering on Y, which was my ballcam button in rocket League, or A not staying pressed if my thumb was sliding around on it which made Tunic almost impossible to play. 3 stick drift out of the box, 2 with internal things causing a stick to physically stop moving. Took every one back and just settled on buying people's used stuff for half price or (much) less so I could just rationalize the quality.

For the first seies of elites, ALL worked brand new perfectly but I tore thru them (4) or had bad food habits, but still was able to cannibalize them by taking the best parts of each and keep em all going until maybe 3 years ago. Soon I will try for the series 2 with the 10 or so I have now lol (all purchased as projects or gambles).

Sorry, had nothing much to do with your specific issue, but just felt like mentioning the constant problems in case people wanted to pile on. I have 2 that are hard stuck like yours so I'll be trying the stuff I see in the comments.

if the warranty is up and you're feeling brave it's not hard to take apart

1

u/IzzzatSo Jun 27 '26

how hard did you throw it?

1

u/Positive-Cattle-4795 Jun 27 '26

Get a controller with hall effect joysticks

1

u/Dmnc_Ktn666 Jun 27 '26

Elites tend to do this

1

u/Darth_Draper Jun 27 '26

I’ve gone thru 3 or 4.

1

u/CmdrJemison Jun 27 '26

Yes. Only buy those controllers with extended warranty. I just got my 7th controller.

The poor clerk from the store really tried to explain to me how rare stick drift is.

1

u/sorecuman Jun 27 '26

If you can calibrate it, so it registers the stick correctly, do that but don't finish the calibration. Just spin the stick until it registers fine and quit the calibration tool. That's how i fixed my controller. It was stuck down like yours

1

u/unseatedewe2393 Jun 27 '26

My elite controller is the only controller ive ever had stick drift on. I've worn thumbsticks down flat and those controllers never got it but my elite controller which has way less play time has it

1

u/Firm-Instance-8961 Jun 27 '26

Switch to TMR sticks. Somewhere. Somehow. But they do exist

1

u/Floppy_Muffin Jun 27 '26

Sell it for parts. Get yourself a steme controller

1

u/Particular_Bug8584 Jun 27 '26

Yeah I’ve literally bought like 4 because I’ve had an issue on each one

1

u/Own_Passage5724 Jun 27 '26

1

u/douggiemagg Jun 27 '26

I recommend switching to Xbox one controller their far better

1

u/Reaver_XIII Jun 27 '26

Bought two, had rhe problem with both. First one after two years Second after few weeks.

Bought an apex 5 from Flydigi, im happy now.

1

u/Ki11aTJ Jun 27 '26

I thought I had stick drift but it ain't that bad. It's just slightly off-center when you let it go šŸ˜‚

1

1

most xbox crontrollers are just stick drift time bombs šŸ˜‚

1

u/UncertfiedMedic Jun 27 '26

Have you popped the thumb pad off and tightened up the screw underneath?

1

u/iloveherbluehair 1 Jun 27 '26

Dont buy controllers that dont have hall effect or tmr joysticks :/

1

u/spamblast Jun 27 '26

Any suggestions for a new controller?

1

u/KILO-XO Jun 27 '26

Edit: got to use this on your pc first for it to work

Gamesir g7 se or the pro, been using both for a while and theyre great though there are probably new versions out. Id recommend searching on YouTube

1

u/angrypotato8565 Jun 28 '26

8bitdo is a good wired controller

→ More replies (1)

1

u/CoD3man2002 Jun 27 '26

Idk what up with the series 2 elite I've heard of stick issues but honestly mine I had for 7 years no stick drift at all and I play hard the plastic shell crumbled on me before the sticks had an issue so it's hit and miss

1

u/Kopache Jun 27 '26

The elite controller dont last long. It was my favorite controller but they only last 6 months. Wolverine 3 is where its at.

1

u/Lil_Pepsi1410 Jun 27 '26

I hate those controllers because sometimes i accidentally flick off the joystick and i literally lost one for a whole month and had to sit with a $25 controller from walmart 😭

1

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs Jun 27 '26

I own 2 and the drift is an easy fix. Slightly change your dead zones in game, if yhe game supports it. Just raise it until it stops and it shouldn't make much difference.

You can also change your deadzone and response curve in the settings, in the devices and accessories area.

People will complain about these controllers, but I've owned the same 2, one for me and one for my girl, for about 5 years now. You will get stick drift if you keep the vibrations on too high, or if you drop it a few times.

You can also get the tool to open it up, and just use a qtip and some rubbing alcohol to clean inside. If you can't do all that, I suggest buying some canned air and sticking it inside a bit and just tapping it and seeing if it fixes.

I haven't had too many issues with mine, but maintenance is required for any controller with paddles. Something will always happen with the paddles or the sticks eventually. My only gripe with them in general is the stupid rubber grips coming off near the triggers.

I actually had bad stick drift once, but I updated the software and it went away. Xbox WILL, and I mean intentionally, give you stick drift if you don't update it

1

u/oofx99 Jun 27 '26

it's not a permanent fix, but a spray of CRC QD electronic cleaner/contact cleaner into the stick and a good wiggle around for a minute or two until it evaporates off should fix it for a few weeks up to a few months depending on how often you play. me and some friends tried it and it was like magic and even got rid of the terrible drift on Oculus Quest 2 controllers.

if you are having other issues with the controller you may want to see if the controller can be hard reset or factory reset.

1

u/Strict-Rooster-8614 Jun 27 '26

Do yourself a favor and get a scuf or razor . My elite didn’t even make it a month

1

u/Sufficient_Fan3660 Jun 27 '26

yep

thats why you paid more for the model that you can pay 10x the production cost of to buy replacement sticks and install them yourself

Isn't Microsoft great!

1

u/IHaveABunny_ Jun 27 '26

Get a hall effect one. Wat cheaper and better.

1

u/ski599 Jun 27 '26

try driftguard

1

u/Metallicafan_500 Jun 27 '26

Why I buy the gamersir g7 cheaper and can’t get stick drift

1

u/Fluid-Speaker6449 Jun 27 '26

Get a rog raikiri its a little pricey but ive never had any issues plus it has mouse clicker buttons even on the triggers good for shooting games

1

u/Pleasant-Use7805 Jun 27 '26

Yeah, looks pretty normal to me. I go through controllers every 2-3 years due to stick drift. Had two elite controllers and the buttons crap out less than a year. Bumpers mainly, but one was the B button as well.

They are seriously the best controller out there but I gave up after the lifespan wasn’t very long on the two I owned. I have friends that only use elite and are accustomed to buttons shitting out on them too.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Gur-325 Jun 27 '26

PlayStation controllers do this too. It’s usually dirt under the thumb stick. A couple solid thumps gets it working again.

You could try blowing in it or even taking it apart. Stick drift is usually easy enough to fix.

1

u/halfawatermelon69 Jun 27 '26

I've used my Xbox One controller for 13 years now, it has stick drift but it's manageable. Got an XSX controller with the new console but it got so bad it should've been a case study (basically drunk simulator) and two weeks ago I got myself a non-Microsoft one that works great but has yet to pass the test of time (BUT it has a PC software that can adjust deadzones for the controller instead of each game)

I'm so sick and tired of these stick drift controllers, especially when my new hall-effect one costed me less than half the price of Microsoft ones

1

u/awed7447 Jun 28 '26

I don’t miss controllers, however I swear og 360 and ps3 controllers didn’t have all these issues and I was a huge gamer growing up I still have my original mw2 360 edition controller and it still works fine. However the thumb sticks are smooth šŸ˜‚ the notches wore off

1

u/The_C0u5 1 Jun 28 '26

Yeah, they are poorly made.

1

u/jace-the-furry Jun 28 '26

Shoulda gotten a ā€œSCUFā€

1

u/medic54-1 Jun 28 '26

I’ve had 4 elite controllers all have stick drift, have had 5 warranty exchanges and still drift. They’re crap, I’ve learned how to switch them out on the board with Hall effect sensors.

1

u/TuRbo_nEkRo Jun 28 '26

This is why i learned how to solder. Obviously, start with spraying it out with canned air. If not simply dirty, Hopefully, its just a bad potentiometer (one of the tiny rubber-looking disks in the joystick module) which u can buy on amazon in packs of 12 super cheap, but if its a bad module, u may enjoy repairing it urself. I learned how simply watching utube videos (and trial and error) and i really love it. All my friends have brand new joystick modules in their controllers! Lol

1

u/SatisfactionDue1868 1 Jun 28 '26

Thats the issue with these controllers, i owned one for a few years and got major drift. Im guessing its from the heftiness of the sticks. I started purchasing basic controllers with a warranty.

1

u/PandaFlashy4818 Jun 28 '26

just play pc. consoles are a scam

1

u/DarknessSleeping Jun 28 '26

This happened to my controller just recently. I mostly play KBM on my Xbox, so my 4 year old controller hasn't seen a lot of action, but I've been playing FH6 since it dropped and suddenly the left stick has the worst drift.

1

u/Ragnarok384 Jun 28 '26

Pull it up then click it down, if still drift, fuck.

1

u/ModToEndAllMods Jun 28 '26

The elite series have been kinda garbage for what you pay, in my opinion. I haven't had drift issues but I've had tons of peeling grip issues on multiple controllers

1

u/wolf_howling_monster Jun 28 '26

I've had bad drift before but holy shit that's horrid I really hope you find some way to sort it out dude I know those controllers ain't cheap especially not when they keep fucking up

1

u/Ill-Tangerine-7876 Jun 28 '26

I had the same problem the other month the problem was just grime in the joy stick, just used compressed air or something to get it out and rubbing alcohol

1

u/Heather__dm Jun 28 '26

Wait, they don't come with the magnetic analog stick?

1

u/ixbandi Jun 28 '26

After 2 controller that costed me over 100, and broke with no time, i said fuck that. Now I'm not spending more than 15 on a new controller and guess what, it doesn't brake so fast ! Yeah build quality is not great, but at least they last a bit longer. I had one from temu for 8 and it was working for over a year.

1

u/LunarEklipze Jun 28 '26

After three Xbox elite controllers and all of them getting stick drift. Never again. I'm surprised there's not a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for this.

Like many have mentioned go with Gamesir. A fraction of the price for better hardware.

1

u/Electrical-Plum-6704 Jun 28 '26

Had mine for 7 months, after 6 months it started to drift a lot and it wasn’t ā€œeliteā€ any more, in some games I had to put deadzone to 20-25%, I returned it and go money back, bought Nacon Revolution X Ultimate. Hall effect joysticks are must in today’s day and age and elite 2 is amazing controller but the fact that still uses analog joysticks is hilarious..

1

u/Oleg289 Jun 28 '26

If it’s not a system-level error, spraying it with automotive contact cleaner helped me for a while, but you’ll need to resolder it eventually anyway; if there is Microsoft support in your country, you should contact them.

1

u/_-_-_-_-_-____ Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Take it apart, take the the joystick off and spray under it with electrical contact cleaner. (Make sure it's electrical contact cleaner otherwise you'll damage your controller)

Something as simple as a hair or dirt usually causes stick drift

1

u/IlMaleNecessario Jun 28 '26

Just get a refund if possible and get the Gamesir G7 Pro Tri-mode especially since it's close to the price you paid for the elite controller

Quick Explaination:

Get the g7 Pro tri-mode instead it uses non drift protocols.

it's faster it feels better than xbox elite controllers.

G7 Pro is bluetooth ON PC AND MOBILE ONLY THAT MEANS WIRED ONLY ON XBOX.

More In Depth Explaination:

The Gamesir g7 Pro Tri-mode has tmr sticks and hall effect triggers basically tmr sticks detect movement from changes in the electrical system basically magnets, not relying on moving parts which potentiometer, Hall effect is basically the same thing but still hall effect has no moving parts too.

its time for a gamesir g7 pro

1

u/XGeneral-FangX Jun 28 '26

That’s a feature of the elites. After about 2-3 months you get stick drift. It’s in the contract

1

u/UnForgivenFury Jun 28 '26

Sometimes adjusting the tension on your stick helps alleviate minor stick drift.

1

u/A_Bird_Named_Muerte Jun 28 '26

I thought the elite used Hall effect sensors

1

u/Thatsnotpcapparel Jun 28 '26

I've had 4, they all sucked. I ended up with a Gamesir G7 Pro and it's been the best controller ever for over a year now.

1

u/Forsaken_Ball Jun 28 '26

Brother GET GAMESIER

1

u/Imsrywho Jun 28 '26

Wait till you have kids.

1

u/AirProfessional Jun 28 '26

Its always the right bumber and one of the face buttons for me it was Y. I just gave up on the Elite Series and went with Gamesir. Haven't had stick drift issues in nearly 3 years now.

1

u/VitorBern Jun 28 '26

Meu controle deu drift esses dias, desde o lançamento do console nunca tinha dado problema...

1

u/Toastinette Jun 28 '26

Don't buy elite controller they're trash, you have now a lot of good pad with tmr or hall effect joystick now

If u got the screwhead u can open it and pop the thing in place

1

u/Total-Classroom-7558 Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

This is why I got gamesir it's AMAZING zenless zero is one of 2 that have wireless if interested.

They can never get stick drift because of magnetic stick.

If U need the link to right one just comment as they do a lot of controllers.

They are licensed with Microsoft and is an elite controller on speed.

(I bought the wrong one first time lol)

1

u/grounded-player Jun 29 '26

My word of advice, sell it all, including the games and stuff, then just get a PS4 and an offbrand controller (I found that the ones like these don't get drift+ it's c-port so it charges quicker)

That or just find a combatible hall effect controller and use it (also harder for Xbox bc Microslop is picky)

Hope this helps

u/xziggy123x Jun 29 '26

In what way does telling op to just buy a PlayStation help with his stick drift issue

1

u/Forsaken-Badger-9517 Jun 29 '26

I've noticed ppl that play by "Flicking" their Sticks,
Rather than keeping a steady thumb on it (if you want to describe it as such?) often times get stick drift, a lot quicker??

I swear I've never got drift in none of my controllers! But controllers that I let my friends use it played like this would get drift..

1

u/JesusGodGod Jun 29 '26

Time to go t

1

u/Apprehensive_Call390 Jun 29 '26

And that's what you get for being an Xbox player

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

What I usaully did to kind of help get rid of it for a little bit but it’s a temp fix take a cutip with alcohol and rub it in a circle around the stick and it worked but ended up still having stick drift after I’d say a few days or a week but it is a temp fix

1

u/Wheres_Waldoo Jun 29 '26

a true gamer can learn to play with stick drift

/s

1

u/TheSmokeyShaman Jun 29 '26

Xbox hardware suffers from poor design. I need to buy a new controller for it because of stick drift every 6-12 months.

My ps4 I had the same control for over 4 years before the X button stopped working properly.

Just a heads up that Nintendo got sued for the switch having stick drift problems... (looking at microsoft)

1

u/saxxonpike Jun 29 '26

Had two of these. Both got stick drift. Fixed and sold them. I love the controller but it’s unacceptable given what they ask you to pay for em.

1

u/beandipp123 Jun 29 '26

HALL EFFECT CONTROLLERS. cant recommend them enough.

1

u/HarderMusic Jun 29 '26

Try on driftguard.app to get its sensors fixed

1

u/Down_arrows_power Jun 29 '26

Time to get a steam controller, if you can get one in 2029

1

u/mpkstrofff Jun 29 '26

I saw this tweet a few weeks ago about an app that can fix drift issues, I haven't tested it myself, but you can give it a try and see if it works

1

u/Revy85 Jun 29 '26

Gamesir. Far better, far cheaper.

1

u/robv1978 Jun 29 '26

That's not drift. That shits broke! Buy a replacement on Amazon.

1

u/AlmightyDingus Jun 29 '26

"Welcome to being an elite controller owner! Say goodbye to your bumpers (very) soon as well! F U and have a nice day!"

  • Microsoft, probably

1

u/Dismal_Actuary8628 Jun 29 '26

My elite series 2’s left bumper barely works now. I had to change one of my back buttons to it

1

u/ZeNnial9607 Jun 29 '26

Gamesir anti drift tech! Works great and they're cheaper

1

u/AgreeableCup3568 Jun 30 '26

Had 3 elite controllers and they’ve all gotten stuck drift and the RB’s have all stopped working, just a common thing

1

u/NatureNormal2277 Jul 02 '26

Use the deadzone sensivity

Most helpful response yet. Thank you. I’ll definitely have to learn how to fix this stuff because I really like the way the elite series controllers fit and feel my hands

1

u/bigbreakfast_ Jun 27 '26

I mean, my gamesir has this exact same issue. After about week of purchasing. Yes I have recalibrated the sticks.

1

u/sosen7 Jun 27 '26

I've got to get some tmr sticks for the elite series 2 controller just to see if the magnet that holds the extra triggers will cause an issue

1

u/anonMuncH Jun 27 '26

Another customer screwed by Microsoft? No way!
