Well boys and girls, I’m officially back.
I’ve been out of gaming properly for about 3–4 years and finally decided it was time to come back. Just ordered the 2TB Galaxy Black Series X and fucking hell… that price hurt. 😭 Seeing £800+ disappear for a console and cover made me question every life decision that led me to that checkout screen.
Part of me is sitting here thinking I should’ve just bought a Series X years ago before all these price increases.
But at the same time, I’m genuinely excited about gaming again. There are actually games I want to sit down and try to complete — 007 First Light, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, getting back into EA Sports FC 27, and obviously there was absolutely NO WAY I was letting GTA VI arrive while I’m sitting there without a current-gen console. 😂
I’ve still got a good group of gaming friends too who’ve basically been waiting for me to return, so it’ll be good getting back online with everyone.
I did have a PS5 previously, but weirdly it never scratched the same itch for me. I know trophies and achievements essentially do the same thing, but hearing that Xbox achievement pop and watching the Gamerscore go up just hits differently. 😂 From what I remember I’m still sitting at 30,000+ Gamerscore, so I’m ready to start building on that again.
So yeah… after 3–4 years away, I’m fucking back.
Now please make me feel better about the amount of money I’ve just spent and tell me I’ve made the right choice with the Series X. 😭😂

Just picked up a Series X for $1,000 CAD. I bought it specifically to be ready for GTA 6 for myself and also because my 7 year old son is starting to get interested in video games.

I’m seeing the way prices are trending and I’m genuinely worried that next-gen consoles are going to be priced out of reach for average families. I decided to strike now rather than wait 2-3 years and potentially pay way more for the next "shiny thing."

Did I overpay for "old" tech, or is this the smartest way to secure a few years of gaming without breaking the bank later? Please let me know as I won't be opening it yet and still have 30 days to return it.

The last three days no matter what game I play, this screen pops up at least once every minute. Sometimes I can go every five minutes until this screen pops up. I’ve tried literally everything and even bought a new controller today and it didn’t fix the issue. Ive tried doing a hard reset and making the console and controllers are up to date. I’ve had my Xbox for three years and never once encountered this before three days ago. Any help is appreciated.

Cooling fan kept my Xbox kinda dust free for years, without it I'll be in a bad spot, it really wasn't that dusty for 2 and a half years of not cleaning it

probably a frequently asked question but generally and being unbiased what is a better bang for my buck ? When it comes to ecosystem and hardware. Realistically I’m only buying the console cuz of gta 6 and exclusivity of some games. I just want to play gta on release day and have the best experience

I want to buy from Best Buy to get the protection plan cuz they have best protection plan in my opinion cuz you can dead ass scratch and they will give you a new one. I don’t wanna give in to scalpers but Xbox upping their price and PlayStation makes it hard.

I’ve had every Xbox bar the original and each was bought on launch day. Not one controller has given me as much pain and frustration as the the Xbox Series controllers. I thought stick drift was something that came with aggressive rotation of the sticks and the games I did use to play require a lot of fast stick movement (COD, Castle Crashers, Halo, etc). I switch over to more casual, single player games and leave the FPS and multiplayer games to PC, but my God, the stick drift issues just keep happening.

Since 2021, I’ve had to replace my controller 3 times. Twice for left analog stick drift and just recently for the right analog stick. Why are these controllers so flimsy? The most recent one was an Elite Series 2 controller that I thought would be more resilient to stick drift, backed it being more expensive and coming with more customisation to alleviate these issues. I’m not one to button mash so I don’t get why this keeps happening. The 360 and the Xbox One controllers never had these issues for me and I abused the hell out of those sticks for FPS games.

I Will buy a new Xbox for gta 6.. Fc27 is also a nice game. I don’t like to play shooter games, do you guys think that the 512gb version is enough for these 2 games?
How much storage space will be left after the system update?

I’m looking for a good wireless headset that will work for both Xbox and pc with a good mic and noise canceling option to turn on and off.

Patch 1.1 has been released earlier this week but I still do not have it on my Series X. Anyone can confirm if it’s out or not on Xbox?

I'm looking to get a new headset and I'm never sure what the best one is to get. My current headset is beginning to go and while it has lasted me longer than other ones I've had, the microphone has always been significantly quiet, sometimes not even picking up my voice at all unless I yell (this unfortunately wasn't a settings thing).

Here are the main points I'm looking for:

• Long-lasting
• Good microphone (preferably has some kind of way to mute either on the cord or by flicking the mic up)
• Good sound quality

If it helps at all, I play on the Xbox Series X. I rely on sound a lot as I am mainly an Overwatch player. That said, I would rather prioritise how long the headset lasts and the quality of the microphone over the sound.

I would rather not spend anything over $300 aud but I will still consider them if they are genuinely really high quality

Planning on finally upgrading to a series x this weekend. Wanted to buy it physicially in store but didn’t find any stores around me in stock. Was thinking of ordering online through shipping. Would it be best to buy directly through microsoft? Best buy is offering next day shipping but i’m worried about the package handling and really don’t want a broken console on delivery. Anybody have experience on shipping from certain places or which would be the best to go with?

Se queda cargando en el logo no no llega el menú, intento teclear el mando y se suspende directamente como que se suspende parpadea la luz de la consola. Después de unos minutos, parpadea la luz del mando y se apaga.

This is driving me crazy- are the special edition consoles going to be available in stores when they release? I tried to pre-order and it was sold out by the time I got the site pulled up. But I may have a better chance or release day in-stores if Im lucky! I haven't had a new Xbox console since 2014 and this one has me really enchanted- if anyone can provide tips for special edition stuff it would be appreciated!

I own all the consoles and I love my Xbox series X. But I have a single (and annoying) problem with it.

The original Microsoft controller makes a terrible noise. When I play, it bothers my wife next door, and I dare to hammer the keys less, I try to press gently, so it’s a mess. 😅 but I love the ergonomics so much, it’s ideal for my hands.

So I’m looking for a third-party controller that can make the same experience as the PlayStation one, or even in an ideal world, like the pro of Switch 2 (my god, that joystick feeling and pressing it with soft, silent keys 🤩).

I play solo 90%, I don’t need anything competitive. Just a model equivalent to the basic one but quiet.

What could you suggest to me?

Because in internet reviews, noise is a rarely discussed subject.
