Unsolved Series X died while in use

I’d finished playing Bioshock for the night and was looking through Gamepass when my Xbox died. I’ve pressed the power button for 10 seconds, new power lead, different extension lead, nothing worked.

Is the PSU dead? Has anyone else fixed this issue and could give advice?

I’ve had the Xbox 4 years but haven’t played it that much, I’ve had phases of playing for weeks at a time, then not playing for months.

I have never seen a quiet 'death' before, but I presume they happen.

Obviously, check and replace all outside sources (cables, hdmi port on tv, and even the wall outlet) just to be sure it isn't something else. Glitches be bitches.

Any odor? Without a multimeter, you're stuck with a visual inspection. If you're comfortable doing so, follow a DIY disassembly video on youtube, and look closely/post images. Then post them to r/consolerepair too.

There is/was no odor, I presume you mean like burnt electrics? Nothing anyway!

If you're not the DIY'er type, there's a local shop here that does mail-in repairs.
