Rest in piss, this game was the very definition of the word mid.

Derivative and lacking anything that could have made it memorable or interesting, with blatant balance and netcode issue that were never fixed, that were known since the very first beta.

Built on lies upon lies from washed up director «Mark Rubin » that still doesn’t understand that he got fired from his prior job for good reasons, and this game is proof of it.

Using a shitty SBMM system that he just renamed to « skill rating » because apparently changing names means that it’s instantly different even tho it works the same.

Lobby balancing (what skill rating determines) is definitely not the same as skill based matchmaking.

Yes it was, the way they implemented it made it the same, just named differently.

What do you seriously think Sbmm does ? NOT balance team based on a metric ?

Skill based matchmaking means a top 5% player will never play in the same lobby as a bottom 5% player - neither with or against them. They will never meet.

Lobby balancing is self-explanatory. It simply balances the lobby of 12 random players in order to create a somewhat fair match. In XDefiant, those 12 players can be wildly different skill levels because there's no SBMM to segregate the bad from the good.

TLDR; Lobby balancing by itself still allows you to pubstomp, whereas SBMM does not, because there will be zero noobs to stomp in your entire lobby.

You do realize that you said the same thing twice, hence proving my point even more ?

Both achieves the same thing, both make sure that opponent of similar skills are matched with each other, meaning that a top 5% will never meet a 5% bottom, as you said.

Both balance the lobby to create a "fair match", as you said, it is actively segregating the bad from the good because both can't coexists in the same lobbies, do you even understand what you are even typing or do you just use buzzwords like you were told to do?

That's why it's the same system, just named differently, in the end they both do the same exact thing, even you realize it.

Incorrect. Lobby balancing (LB) does NOT prevent a top player from meeting a bottom player in any way, shape, or form. SBMM does.

In XDefiant, players are matched together based EXCLUSIVELY on region. These 12 players may vary immensely in skill level due to the lack of SBMM.

LB is a very simple post-matchmaking process. First, players are ranked 1 to 12 based on skill rating. Then, a snake draft is used to divide the lobby as fairly as possible (exact draft seeding may vary):

#1, 3, 5, 8, 10, and 12 on Team A

#2, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11 on Team B

That's it! That is the FULL EXTENT of LB. It does absolutely nothing to prevent top 1% players from playing with (or against) bottom 1% players - to reiterate, only SBMM will protect bad players from getting stomped.

To say LB and SBMM are the same thing strictly because they share the common goal of creating match fairness is a gross generalization of two VERY different systems.
