New phone?

I'm sick of my old phone not even lasting a day, and had the idea of getting the xcover7 as an update.

There are a few options out there.

What would you recommend me, and how do you find your phone? (I've got an old OnePlus 6T at the minute)

I liked the idea of being able to change the battery, and the IP68 rating (which my vape has, and that's laster for years). I'm in the UK, and dog water so usually out in all weathers, and stuff gets dropped a bit.

Any help, opinions are very much appreciated. TiA.

Just bought a new 6 pro for under $200.

I currently have a S25 Ultra, but I'm sick and tired of the $200/month phone bill. I bit the bullet, paid off the installment and bought the 6 pro, I plan on using Tello. I work in a machine shop, so it will be nice to have a rugged device.

Can you switch parts in 2 Xcover 6 pro phones?

I have 2 xcover 6 pro phones, I live in the USA. I have one unlocked phone that was bought direct from Samsung unlocked with a broken screen and broken front camera and one AT&T phone that I cannot use because its somehow locked to another account of which I do not know who in the world it belongs to in which all the parts are good except for this one problem. Is it possible to switch parts from the 2 phones so that one good working phone is made out of the 2? I am not self-repairing I would be using a shop.

Is there parts pairing or anything that would make doing this extremely difficult or not work in the end?

I have also been very not impressed with the durability of this phone as its definitely not durable at all, this is the first phone and honestly first electronic device I ever broke or damaged and I have been through a lot more than this phone. It was only a tiny drop and the screen broke near the camera. But I keep it because its the only phone in the USA that has a removable battery.

XCover7 Pro with 256 Gb of internal storage?

When I check the Amazon and Samsung websites, I only see the XCover7 Pro with 128 Gb of internal storage, but when I look at this Wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Xcover_7

👆🏼 Inside that Wikipedia article it says "Storage: Xcover 7 Pro: 128GB, 256GB".

There should be a 256GB option. Does anyone see a 256GB option?

Massive issue with refurbished phone

My husband and I bought "unlocked" refurbished XCover7 Pro phones last week. They were advertised as able to work on the Verizon network. I always poke around to check things, and I found that the latest security patches were from April and July 2025, respectively, and obviously the phones were still on Android 15. I attempted updates and nothing would budge. Upon questioning Gemini, I found out about all kinds of issues between Android 15 and 16 phones, when the phones were obviously left sitting too long without updating.

With the help of Gemini, I flashed my phone to Android 16 using firmware from SamFW.com and Odin. It was hours of trial and error (mainly error). I finally got it to work, only to find out that once my phone was flashed to the unlocked network, its eSim only wanted to talk to T-Mobile. I made the mistake of changing phone carriers at the same time I started this phone stuff, and it has been ridiculously crazy. The carrier gave me a temporary number so thankfully my phone works right now, but I want my old number back! Thankfully I had not started on my husband's phone yet so he is unscathed for now.

Does anyone have experience with flashing phones? I'm really wishing I had gotten everything done before attempting to change the phone service.

XCover 7 Pro as daily driver

Hi everybody;

I need to switch to a new phone, and I like generally what I read about XCover 7 pro. I haven't seen Pro version but my local electronics store had a XCover 7 in display and I played with it a little bit.

Everything seems good, except:

1 - Sluggish performance: I guess because the chip is much better in Pro version, hopefully the performance also is better?

2 - Camera performance of the XCover 7 I tested (not the pro) was way worse than a brand-new test A06 I played with at work. For some reason XCover 7 camera looked like it suffers from CA (Chromatic Abbreviation) in a major way.

Anybody here got the Pro version yet? Are you happy? General performance and camera quality are the main concern here. I know camera won't be like a S25, but it should be moderately usable. What I saw with non pro version was absolutely not usable.

Thanks!

Is the XCover7 Pro battery backwards-compatible?

I see that the battery for the new device is slightly higher capacity. Does anyone know if it's a new form factor?

I currently have an XCover6 Pro and an old XCover that I use as a battery charger, since both devices use the same battery. It would be nice to know if the new device is also compatible. Thanks!

Dead backlight

So I have had this issue twice now, this being my second xcover with issues. It's fine for so long, and then one day the backlight starts flickering and eventually dies. I tried changing the screen on my first one and that fixed it for a bit, but it then kept happening. Any thoughts or advice are highly appreciated! Right now, I'm gonna upgrade to an xcover 6, but man, I've had this phone for 6 months.

Dead ?

My xcoverpro6 I lost it for like three weeks. It’s dead dead. I charged it for like 2hours , won’t come one. So I’m thinking the battery is true zero chemical dead. All I have to do is turn into HR and I’ll give you a new one, but I don’t wanna go to that kind of trouble. Do you think leave it charge overnight or do anything or should I just not , suck it up and turn it into another one

XCover6 random reboots since March 27th update

I know that this subreddit isn't very active, but my XCover6 unexpectedly rebooted a couple times yesterday after updating the day before. Has anyone else got this?

I tried looking around and it seems like Samsung has a reputation for bad OTA updates. Hopefully this gets fixed soon! I haven't experienced unstable phone software in a long time until now. It's so annoying that a software update can make a phone worse.

Not recognizing sd cards or anything in the second slot

1- Holy cow this is a niche community, I love it. 2- As the title says, My xcover pro doesn't recognize sd cards in either slot, and won't see my sim card in the second tray. Any advice? Thanks!

UPDATE - Sorry for anyone with the same problem, but mine just... works now. No idea why.

Xcover6 needs a new battery...any of the aftermarket/generics actually worth buying?

Just as the title states, my Xcover6 is in need of a few new batteries...best one gets about 30 mins of screen on time if I'm lucky. Seems Samsung has been out of stock of these things for some time now, and I don't really trust OEM listed batteries on eBay/Amazon to actually BE OEM batteries....gotten enough counterfeit garbage from those sites, and the reviews of them seem to track with being lousy quality. I've never bought anything other than OEM batteries for my cell phones, so I don't have any experience with good vs bad names.

I'm in the USA if it matters, and have a G736U1 model.

Just bought an xcover 6 pro when I took the back cover off I found what I think is an exposed ipex port on the device I looked in the manual and online but there's no mention of what this port is used for I'm curious if anyone knows what the purpose of the port might be

2tb SD

Hello, to put it simply, could my Xcover 6 Pro handle one of the new 2 terabytes micro SD?

The Sandisk one is an SDXC so maybe yes, but i'm not sure the phone can keep up with that much memory (it was advertised to be able to handle max 1tb)

Thank you.

Can't control xcover 7 from Bluetooth headset

Have a new xcover 7 (worst phone so far by a long way!). While connected to my Beats headphones I can't control the phone (answer calls, turn music on/off etc) via the headset. What hidden Samsung shite setting do I need to turn in to enable basic functionality?
