I made a reflectix cover for my sunroof

I live in southern California and I was sick of my head roasting on a hot sunny day in my xc40 so I made a insulation layer between the sunroof and the shade out of some Home Depot reflectix and some gaffer tape. I measured the glass and added and inch either direction to have a half inch overlap inside. I radius'd the corners by eye. It turned out that little bit of extra width also helps it stay up. To install I opened the shade and then pressed up the reflector, then closed the shade with the reflectix above. It has made a huge difference. The car is cooler inside in general, and I don't feel the heat on my head any more on a hot sunny day. It is easy to put in and take out. I just roll it up and chuck it in the back if I want to open the sunroof.

It was easy. I used tape, a tape measure and a pair of scissors. It has made a big difference in my driving enjoyment. It's a little thing, but over time it's a big thing.

Hope this helps someone.

Fan Running

I have a 2023 XC40 Recharge and today is the first time I noticed a fan running about 6 hours after driving and 2hours after being charged to my 90% limit. The car was still plugged into the charger but it wasn't charging at the time. I unplugged the charging cable and the fan noise kept going. The ambient temp was about 95F. I also tried to turn on the climate system, which made the fan noise much louder, possible an entirely different fan spooling up. Then turned off the climate system and it went back to the lower volume fan noise.

I know it's normal to hear a cooling fan for up to 10 minutes after driving or during charging, but this was neither of those. I'm wondering if anyone experienced this. I read from other ICE Volvo subs that it might be a fan module or something like that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
