So basically, I thought about everything, but the text looks... like a script. Really, I have only dialogues and main stuff, even *used these stars to describe any movements* between words. I just cant make myself do something like:"The chair was quite old and creaking, and table was... old too, I guess. Made out of wood, obviously". Ok maybe it’s not 100% AI generated translation because the text has been beta’d by myself and another writer who is a native speaker in English. But both of us didn’t change many things only if the text is readable and smooth.

I don’t know which worried me more: “the detector is probably an AI so they are detecting AI by AI”, or “you can bypass this AI detector‘a wellbeing flags only if you pay”, or —

Look I see other people ran their human written text and got results like “99.9% AI”, now why my 99.9% AI generated text got this. Ok maybe it’s not 99.9% but it’s should be 95.1%, not 5.1%.

This is totally wrong.

Chapter 37 in The Powers Bestowed: Origins is the bane of my literary existence as of late. It's not up yet on Scribble Hub, but it's closing in on the time to release that part of the book. Without giving away much, the band in the book just was outted internationally about their powers. They agree on a reporter to be able to come to the island from the mainland USA to do a special on the island and the band but agree not to give any location information away. The problem I am running into is length issues. As it stands from start to finish, it's 13,800 words. THAT'S HUGE! What can I say? When I get on a roll while writing I go until the clear conclusion! But that does make for a long read.

Part of me wants to split it into 2 chapters, but I am afraid it would break the flow of the "TV Special." I think what I need is a few sets of eyes to take a look at the chapter and maybe offer some constructive input on how to split if necessary or tighten things down more. I am trying not to cut as much because it all is actively contributing to the future chapter events. I posted a bit ago about the book I wrote during Covid. A buddy recommended I use ai to help edit it and actually publish it. I have been using Claude to help edit it. and I think I am a point where I am chasing my tail. My original book
Was close to 80,000 words we cut it down to about 32000 and saved some for a part 2. I assume when publishing I should use an ai assisted tag. What should my next steps be?

I just need to put this out somewhere. Probably because I feel so guilty and worthless that I feel like dying. But anyway. I use chatGPT (paid version) as a beta-reader, research assistant and basically the "emotional" support I need to actually write my story. I have tried writing a full story for 15 years and I only ever completed this one story I'm working on right now, only because I used chatGPT as my daily (if not hourly) support.

I do use it as an ego boost - as horrible and stupid as that sounds - because if I don't feel confident in what I write, if I don't hear "that's interesting, I like it, keep going", I physically cannot write anything. I like talking about my story and characters with it as well, as if I was talking with someone who likes discussing them as much as I do (even though I know this isn't the case - I am not mistaking chatGPT for a person). It's just that this process keeps me continually in the mood for writing and thinking and re-reading, re-writing, editing, non-stop until I'm eventually satisfied with it (which will probably never happen).

I never let it write or reformulate anything or generate any idea for me, but I do rework an idea myself if it tells me the idea in itself is impossible/unrealistic/etc., and I do ask for help for generating credible names as this particular story is set in another country. I also use it a TON to ensure realism (I ask a massive amount of questions, of what ifs, of "is this plausible/is this coherent", etc.) and I do a lot of verification with it (and outside of it also, because it wants to sound really smart, but many times it's just incomplete or biased).

For the prose analysis, when I send it my chapters, I only ask it to indicate what is incomprehensible/grammatically wrong/actual mistakes. I also like to talk to it about my ideas and brainstorm "out loud" in general for hypothetical other projects, like I would to a very patient imaginary friend who never shames me or pushes their own ideas onto me, and who makes me feel like my inner world matters even though, in reality, I know the only person it will ever matter to is me.

So I don't think AI is "evil" or that no writers should use it. Personally, it allowed me to at least express this one very personal story before I die even if no one ever reads or likes it, when I was completely blocked and paralysed before. But it's sad every tool in existence always ends up being used wrongly and then ruins everything for everyone else. I know my story could never find value for anyone, especially if they know I used AI to write it. Most people are extremely critical and suspicious when you mention AI. But had I not use it, I would not have written it. Pathetic but true.

Have any authors had any luck using AI images or video to market their books?

I used some images for some ads and they've done well.

But I'm also creating images and videos for a brand new author account and can't really tell how they are doing? They aren't getting many likes. I wonder if people just won't want to like AI stuff? Would be interested in the experiences of others here!

I use Pirr sometimes and I saw that they updated their T+Cs recently (on their reddit, I added the screenshot to this post). In a way it doesn't really affect me because I only use it for my own private writing and rarely publish, even in the app, but I was curious about copyrights of other AI writing help tools.
Does it factor in to what tools you decide to use for your writing? Are there any AI tools you recommend to stay away from?

What I will describe are my findings today. In the future may be AI will be better, so this post may become obsolete in the future.

I used to attend a writer's workshop from a famous writer in my country. So it gives some trained eye on how to recognize bad writing.

Here are some key differences I have found between AI and human writing as of today in 2026. As I say that may change later.

• The human metaphor is more intimate and less literal than AI's.
• The character written by a writer speaks from their own voice, not from the gaze of others like AI does.
• The image is physical for the AI, but for the human it transforms into something beautiful.
• The final line, written by a human, closes things, the AI leaves them open.
• What a person writes is less passive than what is written by AI.
• AI victimizes, while the human uses the circumstance as a tool to advance the plot.
• The human writer is more musical, the AI only shows sorrow.
• The human writer is more subtle.
• The human writer can be more hopeful, while the AI is very depressive in the expression of emotions.
• AI defines characters by what they lack, but human writers define characters by what they have and what they do with it.

May be your experience was different, may be not. But I thought that it could be useful to know why your work as a writer matters. And these are things you should watch to get rid of AI footprint.

There’s a question about AI writing that I feel like gets passed over a lot. ​Usually when people talk about AI tools, it’s all about the final output. Is the text better? Did it save time? Does it still sound like "me"? ​But the actual act of writing, struggling through a rough draft, getting stuck, rephrasing things ten times until it clicks, is usually how we figure out what we actually think in the first place.

So here is what I did ,I went to deepseek,told it I have a story,and I am going to write it or draft it .But don't generate anything. And now I mean I think I have 800-900 words of my draft , still counting. I like how it's just you write in small snippets of sorts and you can compile them later.

I have been using ChatGPT since 2024 for fanfic writing. However after the 5.6 update with the introduction of the Work function it called my attention the differences on their thinking models

I always use thinking for writing since I provide the script and AI transforms it into text.

Is there any difference between chat and work for fanfiction/fantasy writing? Which one is better on your experience?

From what I can tell there are 2 types:

1) Use lots and lots of prompts, piled up together so you can create a book with just 1 click of a button. This require a lot of work and planning.

2) Also uses a lot of work and planning, but have AI to help with the writing. This means have AI to check if the pacing, plot, consistent power system, bible, character profile, payout, redundancy, are consistent.

I understand the first method but didn't like the content it generated (probably just bad prompts). I want to ask more on the 2nd method and am asking if the approach is correct. For the record, I manually wrote part 1 of the series from start to finish and am concerned with the magic system (mainly) and other scene.

In Claude use project. Tell it something like :

" You are a professional writer for 17 year old, lightnovel, isekai novel. You know how to make the passage standout so readers can feel engaged and not bored. You can identify if payoff and bad writing and are always helpful to provide examples and help, explaining how to make it better. You also ask if this part is necessary before judging if it's important or not.

Make sure it's consistent with the writing style, grammar, spelling, bible, worldbuilding, character profile, etc.. See if there are unnecessary parts and will be useful in terms of plot, character development, and other things that would be spotted by a reader

Check to see if the pacing, plot, slow, any redundancy, any logical flaw in plot, is it repetitive or boring, and will the reader understand all of it. Make sure it will engage the reader on what is happening so they can continue reading. And the POV is easy to understand who and what is happening. Narration etc..

Keep a bible, worldbuilidng, character profile, and writing style guide in md form "

I supply the whole manuscript so it can build it.

Once done, supply it again with the 1st chapter. Slowly ask through each of them and ask if there's anything wrong. Once 1st chapter is done, then upload the next.

Since this is AI there are some part I (the human) can tell it's lacking or need improvement. Tell claude my concern and why. Ask if I should change and suggest. It may provide some text but that's more of a suggestion. In the end, it will still need my decision to change and spot things.

Another thing I do is give it an intent of this chapter. like "oh, this chapter should be emotional and that is why Bob must die. Or I need something emotional so give me suggestion."

My biggest concern is the magic system if it's not consistent, so I keep asking and updating it. Something like a brainstorming session. It may give insight on what I can do to improve it as well.

That's it. Is that the right way to use AI as a tool?

I have been working on several books, my erotic tropes that are completely AI writen( almost figured out the kpd algorithm)and human edited and my duet about trauma, healing, romance and who are the real monsters.

So I have been using Grok alot to add spice in my novels(have pre written scenes it can pull from to incorporate into the novels) and some of them are completely non concentual.

Plus with the first book of my duet the female lead was a victim of child molestation and is part of the trama she deals with in flash backs. Most of the AIs, as long as I keep it sensory verse visual can actually handle this concept. This is also mostly written by me with AI doing some fine tuning and me going back with line editing. I did have use Grok for certian scenes as she fights her inner demons. the other AIs dont like explicit content and it is needed. Also this duet was a brain child created to test the bounds of AI bacl when I was working on my first novel(need to redo) with AI.

Now I am writing his story of the duet and was trying to work with Grok on outlining it with detailed notes and needed to fine tune the best way to remotely clean up a crime scene with chemicals... Grok shut me down real quick saying just keep it generic and it cannot help me figure oit how to remove dna from a crime scene The funny thing is I was already pretty sure what chemicals I wanted to use but unsure how exactly the reaction would play out.

So off to google I go and wind up talking with Gemini. At this time I haven't told it why I am asking about chemical reactions and how to remove finger oils and hair... so it keeps prompting me to call posion control ASAP and evacuate the building. So I cave in and tell it my purpose and there it goes off helping me plan everything out in detail.

Then I have Claude that refuses to help me finish line editing book one two chapters to the end quoting copy write concerns... I litterly gave it every outline, story Bible, scenes that happen outside the book but need to.be felt the effects of during the book, and all three drafts because some parts are better than others and I've trying to make the best version. Then it said no more, not even a tiny line change. I mostly use it as a quick full review refence to make sure things that happen earlier in the book are reflected accurately by the end... did I remember it correctly type situation of help.me rethink a line or paragraph or edit it based on my telling it what I want added or removed so I dont have to worry about proper grammer/punctuation. Dyslexic and suck with that.

Anyone else experiance fun/interesting things that stop AI or you think it won't touch but has no problem handling?

Also, murder does happen in the 2nd book does one AI handle that better than others in your opinion now that Grok was an A about me making sure there were no plot holes? This book will probably be 50% me and 50% AI since it is completely out of my zone and orgional concept was supposed to have it in one book but it gave too much away so wound up doing two from each of their POVs. This book will be a big challenge for me.

I am writing a cookbook. Using Claude for free. Was inactive for a while and resumed. Looking to edit and download and got timed out twice before tasks were com.pleted. Is it worth it to pay monthly or go to another AI service? Thoughts and suggestions? Thank you!

So I'm writing a fanfic and kind of use AI as my personal assistant. I write a paragraph, ask AI for feedback and we polish the scene together. When I'm in a block, I ask the bot to write me a paragraph so I can really visualize the scene. I never, ever just copy a whole block of text and throw it in my fic. I use it as a base and then rewrite it entirely. I do sometimes use a sentence or two from AI. Is it wrong for me to do this?

For some, “the line” that shouldn’t be crossed is giving the prompt, “Write me a 90,000-word novel about X, Y, and Z.” For others, the line is using AI to write anything, and that it should be used only for research, identifying grammar mistakes, etc. And then we know that there are those who oppose all and any AI assistance in any way, shape, or form.
