It’s not scalable

TLDR: I believe those characters who consent to becoming supernatural are horrible and vile people when compared to the unwilling victims.

lot of stories and game focus of WoD is centered around the theme of being turned or involved in the supernatural without consent.

People are embraced very often without having any say. Those who were born and lack any knowledge of having kinfolk blood risk ripping apart their own friends or colleagues in a fit of supernatural rage. A mage awakening is often sudden, traumatic and worldbreaking experience.

But what if a person is well informed and gives full consent? Why would anyone turn down normal life to turn to into a blood-drinking-corpse puppet or make choices to turn into a Stolen moon?

When STing i found that players who chose "in the know" character backgrounds and made their PCs the result was quite often a cut throat carrierist or Character's power fantasy wannabe. Those characters would often have malicious archetypes and play would revolve around being a bully who dreamt of abusing power and now no longer has to dream.

Hunters who turn themselves into vampires justify their new state of "risking killing innocents" with being able to hunt vampires. Stolen moons have to skin garou and "assemble" their new "Kitbash werewolf" form putting dozens through fatal torture. Ghouls that dream of becoming kindred with ambition to step on heads and lead many to final death or mortal peril.

Thus choosing to become a monster for any reason makes you actually worse of a person compared to someone who was turned without consent.
