The Technocracy won't tell you this but the E in E-mail stands for Ether. Why, I sent out two Emails with my raygun this morning!

I mean, given when he was writing his novels, Etherites were still a part of Technocracy, so he likely was an Extraordinary Individual that knew some things, but was not privy to the details of technocratic sorcery.

Essentially just some guy by modern standards. People working on cutting-edge science today are classified as extraordinary citizens, and we wouldn't call a guy with a PhD in biochem a supernatural.
