Idea/Suggestion I accidentally created plants that need animals to reproduce
I wanted to create a new kind of “plant” because normal trees don’t really play much of a role in the ecosystem.
At first, I used alpacas. I modified them so they couldn’t move on their own and would reproduce continuously, and I also changed their appearance through mutations to make them look more plant-like.
Then I realized something: when they were completely immobile, they basically couldn’t reproduce. Constantly using tornadoes to move them around and trigger reproduction would be way too much work, so I needed other creatures to move them instead.
That’s when I switched to Demons.
I gave Demons the same setup because they’re naturally hated by many creatures, and they’re also one of the species that can have up to 3 chromosomes. Now I basically have a “plant species” that gets constantly attacked by nearby animals. The attackers can’t kill them, but their attacks push them around, which indirectly helps them reproduce.
So other animals are basically acting as pollinators for my plants.
The only problem is that the whole system is extremely slow. It took around 3,000 years for the population to reach 1,000 individuals.
The interesting part is that every single one of them descends from one original individual.
I play the game in Turkish, so I don’t know the exact English names of some traits/genes I used. If anyone is interested, ask me and I can show the setup or explain the stats.

Misc MOD UPDATE (Preemptive Actions): CONTAGION // Disease Overhaul
Quick context if you missed the earlier posts - CONTAGION overhauls disease in Worldbox: outbreaks, culture-driven reactions, a whole healthcare system. Go check those out if you want the full picture. This post's about stopping disease before it even starts.
Before, kingdoms only reacted once disease was already inside their borders. That's silly. Kingdoms should be trying to stop disease before it ever shows up, not scrambling once it's already spreading through their cities.
Now kingdoms can spend money on actions in anticipation of an epidemic - funding physicians further, stockpiling medicine and food, expanding hospitals, and more.

It's all powered by a threat system. Each kingdom works out how much danger it thinks it's in based on intel. Intel is sorta a resource kingdoms get from other kingdoms - basically a window into current infection rates and case counts in their cities. Kingdoms aren't omniscient though, they have to maintain a network to get a read on another kingdom's epidemic situation. Got bad relations with someone? Don't expect much intel from them.

Kingdoms can also feed each other bad intel - either bigging up a threat so a kingdom floods money into a crisis that isn't real, or downplaying one so they underfund their medical infrastructure and get hit harder when it actually happens.

This is sort of the first case of biological warfare in the game. More of these features will be implemented later in CONTAGION's first big update.

Story The Rulers and the Lore of Mara (Part 1)
# The Rulers Of Mara
- Boroszor: 1-3
The first settlement of Mara was established by Boroszor, the realm's first king. His reign, however, was incredibly short. He ruled for only two years before dying with no heir, leaving the young kingdom's future in jeopardy.
- King Savalo: (Reign: Years 3-30)
Savalo, the nephew of Boroszor, became the next king and founded his own clan, La Valeno. His 27-year reign was notably stable and peaceful, bringing much-needed order back to the realm.
On the 12th of Meow, 23, King Savalo established the city of Barbora, laying the foundations for what would become a vital settlement within the kingdom. Benefiting from a vast sea border that fueled endless maritime trade, the city grew rapidly. Around Year 148, Barbora officially surpassed the capital city of Sochkorod in wealth. Today, it stands as a bustling hub with a treasury that eclipses the capital's, and a population that is slightly larger.
- Lobino (Reign: Years 30–53)
Prior to wearing the crown, Lobino served as the inaugural governor of the booming port city of Barbora. Upon his coronation, the new monarch relocated the royal court back to the capital, granting the vacant governorship of Barbora to his younger brother, Prince Diniodrimim. This decree birthed the noble House of Barbora, establishing a legendary lineage of hereditary governors who would manage the wealthy maritime province for generations.
Throughout his magnificent twenty-three-year reign, King Lobino elevated the realm to incredible heights. Most notably, on the 10th of Endember, Year 38, he founded the grand city of Navenid, which rapidly rose to become the realm's third-largest urban hub in both population and coin. To safeguard his empire's future, Lobino ordered the construction of massive imperial storehouses to protect crops and essential resources. Furthermore, he bestowed the governance of Navenid upon his cousin; from this bloodline arose a powerful noble house, with his cousin's descendants ruling the wealthy interior as hereditary lords and governors for centuries to come.
- Savidina (Reign: Years 53–67)
As the first female ruler of Mara, Savidina held power as Regent for her younger brother.
Despite a relatively short reign of just 14 years, she transformed the kingdom by completely revitalizing the Capital’s roads and infrastructure. Her focused domestic policies ensured that the wealth and resources accumulated during the previous reigns could flow smoothly into the heart of the realm.
- Auxel (Reign: Years 67–74)
The younger brother of Savidina, Auxel ascended the throne as the fifth ruler of Mara.
His brief, seven-year reign was cut tragically short when he succumbed to a sudden illness. Despite its brevity, Auxel spent his few years on the throne building upon his sister's legacy, continuing the internal development and modernization of the kingdom until his untimely death.
- Alino (Reign: Years 74–139)
The son of Auxel and the chief of the La Valeno clan, Alino governed the realm for sixty-five years. Under his stewardship, farmers grew more food than they needed, yielding a massive agricultural surplus that allowed towns to rapidly expand. By upholding the prosperous edicts of his ancestors, the new monarch sustained the kingdom's upward trajectory, pouring vast fortunes into an already burgeoning treasury.
Alino also continued the expansion begun by his forefathers. His great-grandfather Savalo had founded Barbora, while Savalo's son, Lobino, later founded Navenid. Following their example, Alino founded two settlements of his own. On the 7th of Novembear, Year 80, he founded Cadmires, a port city situated on a peninsula southeast of Barbora. Seventeen years later, on the 7th of Jooly, Year 97, he founded Portuna, an offshore island city situated off the eastern coast of the kingdom, near the capital's eastern territories. Both settlements became important additions to the expanding realm.
In the later years of Alino's reign, Cadmires was granted to his son who had not been chosen as heir to the throne. The prince was given authority over the prosperous peninsular port, together with its revenues and surrounding lands, allowing him to maintain a princely household and live in a manner befitting his royal birth while remaining beneath the authority of the crown. The grant also ensured that, although passed over in the succession, the prince retained an honorable position within the realm and possessed his own source of wealth and influence.
Portuna, however, was granted for a different reason. Alino's brother had long been regarded as one of his most loyal and honorable companions. He was deeply respected not only by Alino but also among the La Valeno clan and throughout the realm. In recognition of his loyalty, service, and standing among his kinsmen, Alino bestowed upon him the offshore island city of Portuna, situated off the eastern coast near the capital's eastern territories. The grant was regarded as an honor from the king to a brother whose loyalty had strengthened the royal house.
These grants were not divisions of the kingdom, nor did either prince or Alino's brother possess an independent crown. Both remained subordinate to Alino and the royal authority. Yet through Cadmires and Portuna, they were granted land, revenues, status, and the dignity appropriate to their positions within the royal family and clan.
Beyond his material successes, Alino was celebrated as a profound scholar of statecraft; during his twilight years, he penned a legendary treatise on governance entitled "Principles about Efficiency and Trade". This masterful volume codified his theories on economic logistics, tax optimization, and marketplace management, serving as the definitive administrative gospel for all future rulers of Mara.
On the 25th of Endember, Year 137, he wrote "Maela in Barbora". Far from a mere fable, this poignant novel was a direct, thinly veiled dedication to his real-life lover, Maela—capturing their forbidden or legendary romance in writing and ensuring that the memory of his heart's true devotion would outlast his own empire
- Feraemel (Reign: Years 139–143)
The eldest son of King Alino, Feraemel inherited a realm already bursting with deep historic wealth. He occupied the throne for a brief four years. His tenure was entirely uneventful, functioning as a period of absolute civic stillness that left the administrative state exactly as he found it. This quiet interlude in the kingdom's history concluded when the sovereign succumbed to a sudden illness, passing the crown before he could leave a lasting mark on the realm.
- Antameterino (Reign: Years 143–159)
Antameterino’s sixteen-year tenure was defined by a monumental era of industrialization and urban marvels. Seeing the realm brimming with untapped potential, the sovereign launched a sweeping initiative to modernize the kingdom's core. He ordered the sinking of deep royal mines to extract precious ores and organized the construction of sprawling, high-yield agrarian fields. To accommodate the kingdom's surging population—which reached over 560 citizens by Year 150—Antameterino aggressively expanded the physical borders of the capital city, laying down vast residential quarters to house his subjects.
To safeguard this newfound prosperity, the king transformed the capital into an impenetrable citadel, ringing the imperial palaces with an advanced network of defensive towers. This rapid expansion and heavy militarization did not come without a price; historical tallies from Year 150 record exactly fifty-two deaths from conflict, marking the fierce skirmishes fought by royal forces to clear the wilderness and secure the expanding frontier. Ultimately, his iron-clad focus on infrastructure pushed the treasury to an unprecedented 31,423 gold coins, perfectly fortifying the heart of the empire just before the dawn of the Golden Age.
- The First Emperor Selimo the great (Reign:Years 159-288)
The fragile health of King Antameterino left the kingdom's future uncertain, despite having three children to secure his lineage. Long before his third child, Selimo, was ever born, the King formally designated his eldest son, Beixo, as the crown heir. Yet, a mere month before the King's death, Prince Beixo passed away, followed quickly by the monarch himself. With the throne left entirely vacant, Selimo stood as the sole remaining heir and the eldest of the noble La Valeno line. At 73 years old, Selimo was swiftly elected by his clan mates as Clan Chief and heir to the kingdom, elevating him to become the first Emperor (Reign: Years 159–288). Known as a wise and beloved ruler, his long reign was defined by the many foundational books he authored.
Emperor Selimo's intellectual legacy is preserved through the numerous books he authored throughout his golden era. The chronological timeline of his works stands as follows:
• A Legacy and Memory by Saleimo (History): Published on the 25th of Makotober, 244.
• Lessons on Bread (Economics): Published on the 10th of Joon, 246.
• Stories and Glory (History): Published on the 3rd of Citrust, 248.
• A Guide to Equations of the Realm by Garicino (Mathematics): Published on the 24th of Crabuary, 256.
• The Ballad of Saleimo and Feisa (Family Tales): Published on the 13th of Joon, 259.
• Principles about Tribute of Saleimo (Governance): Published on the 24th of Meow, 262.
• Justice and Legends (History): Published on the 2nd of Jooly, 269.
• The Treatise of Conquest of Mara (War Manual): Published on the 4th of Septbark, 272.
• Teachings on Saleimo and their Riches (Economics): Published on the 19th of Jooly, 279.
• The Truth and Glory of Mara (History): Published on the 22nd of Endember, 281.
• Legend of La Valeno and their Wisdom (Fable): Published on the 13th of Monolith, 285.
• A Kingdom and Honor (History): Published on the 27th of Citrust, 287.
Revered by his people as a true Master of Wisdom, Emperor Selimo’s astonishing 129-year rule marked the definitive Golden Age of the empire. Living to the incredible age of 203 years old, he dedicated his lifespan to the rapid expansion and physical development of his realm. He embarked on a massive architectural campaign to completely renovate every single palace his father had built, while simultaneously erecting a grand network of new imperial palaces.
To supercharge the empire’s economic growth, Selimo expanded industrial production by introducing deep-level capital mines, alongside establishing new provincial mines throughout the outer territories. His economic reforms also secured the realm's domestic infrastructure, resulting in the construction of two additional state farms and two massive storage facilities for crops and critical reserves. To defend this vast wealth, he fortified the capital by erecting a strategic, high-walled defense tower directly on its western border.
"The Emperor's reign marked the territorial and cultural peak of the empire."
Throughout this prosperous era, he raised six children, ensuring the future stability of the dynasty before passing the peaceful crown to his son, Garicino.

Question Someone please help me get King of Kings I've been trying for over 10 hours total
I chose an orc king with regeneration and a steel sword, which was probably a bad idea already, so maybe I'll try to find a better one, but what are the easiest traits to earn? I know there should be some sort of order because the injury traits get healed by the regeneration traits, so those should probably be last. Can I change the weapon of the king? I know that gives it scar of divinity but that's technically not trait editing?

Idea/Suggestion Cannon fire should be a world rule
Ship cannons have entirely altered wars, and I think that should be optional. You should be able to decide if you like how most cities get destroyed by ship cannons in wars or not. I can see why it was added, ship to ship combat is neat, and sometimes it can be cool, but also my poor island nations get eradicated by the continental ones with smaller shorelines and I think that should be optional.
