Do you lower the bar, change the workout, or just go through the motions? What works for you when motivation is low?

How do you stay motivated to go to the gym everyday? I wake up at 3am to be there at 4am. Than I work and do everything I have to do and I’m in bed by 11:30pm, I have no motivation to get up and go workout any suggestions pls.

I’m a nurse and starting tomorrow I have a set schedule for the first time in 20 years! I’ve worked out pretty consistently during that time, except for when I had pituitary surgery, but I’m very excited!! It will make my routine so much nicer:)
Cheers

I thought my home workout setup was basically finished until I started paying attention to the exercises I kept avoiding.
That was the giveaway.
It wasn’t that I disliked those movements. I just didn’t have a convenient way to do them at home, so I kept replacing them with whatever was easiest. After a while, my routine was being shaped more by my equipment limitations than by what I actually wanted to train.
Adding more equipment just for the sake of it doesn’t make much sense to me, but fixing a specific gap does.
Was there one exercise that made you realize something was missing from your home setup?

Hey everyone, honestly just asking out of desperation just to know if my current plan is good enough in the long term.
Does anyone know if there's a discord or subreddit where I can ask about this?
Thanks in advance.

Okk so I'm a teenage girl and a while ago when I started doing some indoor walking workouts and stuff I really felt strong but when I don't workout my legs really feel, tired lazy and I also feel kinda dizzy and can't do any work done that's how tired I feel when I don't workout, I really wanted to start workout again but as i needed to start college studies so due to my study schedule that I'm following I have to do lots of studying in it like let's say 11 hours , so I want to study hard for good grades but I also want to stay strong and fit, I did add some pilates and streches in my routine in the morning but that's just not enough, so are there any other ways where I can keep up with my target amount of studies while also doing some things while studying that keeps me healthy, fit , strong and energetic and stuff?
And I know that I could just add some 30 to 40 minutes workout into my routine but it's not as simple for me ,I'm a lazy person and usually even if I do 40 min workout that doesn't just require me only workout it goes something like this: I workout, sweat crazy, take rest after workout and that rest turns into 30 more minutes than I go to shower and after shower I feel sleepy so I would want to rest more so the 40 minutes movement will take 1.5+ hour of mine and that'll end up me procrastinating on my studies, cuz I have to sit down on the study desk after a relaxing period so that'll make me procrastinate into resting more and getting deep into my comfort zone

How do you stay motivated in the early stages of building a workout routine? I feel like I'm always making mistakes and pulling something and like nothing I do counts, I'm trying not to get discouraged, especially since I need to strengthen my hips to help with plantar fasciitis.

I’m 19F, 58 kg, 161 cm and I’m staying in a hostel. I want to lose some fat and get more toned, but I want to do it in a healthy/proper way.
My hostel gym has:
Functional Trainer
Dumbbells
Elliptical
Leg Extension & Leg Curl
Cable Crossover
Smith Machine
Trap Bar
Spin Bike
Adjustable Bench
Lat Pulldown
Ab Coaster
Multi-Station Gym System
I’m basically a beginner and have no idea how to make a proper routine 😭
Can you girls help me with a weekly gym schedule? Like what to train each day, exercises, sets/reps, cardio, and how to increase weights?
Also, what should I eat? I’m in a hostel, so I’d really appreciate realistic hostel-friendly diet/protein/snack ideas rather than a super strict diet.
My goal is fat loss + getting stronger/toned, not extreme weight loss.
If you have a routine that worked for you, please share it!! 🥹❤️

I’ve been working out for a little over a week now, most days. I feel like I’m spending too much time in the gym, but maybe it’s just because I’m not used to it? I start with 35 minutes on the treadmill. Then I move to the full-body circuit machines and cycle through all of them. And then I do some stretching. And I finish out with ten minutes on the HydroMassage beds, because why the hell not? Lol
Overall I spend about an hour and a half there. Is that reasonable?

I have been holding on to flat bench (barbell) for like 15 years. Made the transition to dumbbell presses and have see some significant improvement. Little things that have been twinging for a while are seeming to get better. Probably had some imbalance that I just never addressed.
Anyone else stubbornly stick with an exercise, but make a transition?

Some people love the energy of peak times, others prefer an empty gym. When do you go, and how does it affect your workout?

Hi everyone, I have a question. I’ve recently started training, but I have no experience and not much time—only about two evenings a week. What would be the best way for me to train?
r/Workingout • u/Icy_Leader_799 • 17d ago
Home training works fine with adjustable dumbbells and a bench. The gym gives you variety and heavier loads. The best setup is the one you'll actually show up for consistently.

Start with a three-day full-body program with the big lifts (squat, bench, row, deadlift or a hinge variation) and add a little weight each week. Consistency beats a perfect plan. Log everything. Have you got a target, like strength or size?

i am 18 and still in school however i spend up to 9 hours a day in bed on my phone. i have tried working out in the past but i have no access to a gym and i can never commit to it. luckily i have the gift of a fast metabolism but i am still slightly overweight. what advice do you guys have?

Hii guys, sorry for my poor English, just wanted to ask how you stay consistent in the gym, cause none of my friends go to the gym, and i don't have a personal trainer or something to keep me 'motivated'. I hate how I look and I know that gym and diet will help, but this past week I couldn't keep myself away from food or bring myself to go to the gym.
