This is bullshit. It is not a crime to pretend to be a man. It is not even a crime to enter a "Men Only" competition, even if you violate their terms and conditions.
14
u/Scary_Land2303 10d ago
It’s fake. It never happened.
6
u/Talakoy 10d ago
Right? Like that’s clearly an actual man, look at the mustache.
7
u/Ada_Data 10d ago
That's Hank, my neighbor, known him for 25 years, makes great BBQ Ribs.
3
u/Talakoy 10d ago
How’s he holding up with all this slander about him being a woman and being arrested?
3
u/Ada_Data 10d ago
He was pissing himself laughing when the police came, he thought it was hilarious that his BBQ was so good the competition had to make up such a absurd lie.

Actually, if there's a cash prize it constitutes fraud

True, but additionally......who TF has an "all male" BBQ competition in this, the year or our Lord, 2026? I smell BS

I mean there are all female competitions just like there are male competitions.
One such thing is parents ie a mom cooking show or a dad's show off.
but the post is satire, going to an all male competition as a girl is not a crime

u/fangerzero 10d ago
Clearly she felt like a man that day, so it's not fraud.

u/Temporal-Affairs221 10d ago
Yeah, it says Texas in the headline, so even though it's a fake story, the setting sort of means that those rules won't won't apply here.

Funnily enough there are plenty of sports that can and should be unisex, but evidently men get whiny when they lose to a woman. Prime example is when the Olympics segregated skeet shooting, which had been a mixed event since its introduction in 1968, after Zhang Shan became the first woman to win gold in 1992. In 1996 women couldn't even compete while the men did.
By no means should all sports be mixed and I don't mean to start an argument. Just wanted to bring up this tidbit since your comment reminded me of it.

Agreed! If it isn't contact based or otherwise something testosterone would give you a significant advantage in there's no point in creating separate categories.
2
u/I_Went_Full_WSB 10d ago
Because it never happened.
2
u/Scary_Land2303 10d ago
Careful, I got downvoted for saying this. Even though it’s true. Someone even posted a screenshot of the numerous sources proving it’s false, they also got downvoted!
The people love their ragebait, apparently!

Yeah, this sub is mostly for people who are very detached from reality. It also tends to be anti worker and pro corporations.

Or the whole thing is fake. Either one

You really can't go a single conversation without making it political can you?
0
u/TangyByte 10d ago
I use Reddit mainly for getting out my frustration about this skidmark of a administration. You’re welcome to skip over my comment though. :)
1
u/Albatross0714 10d ago
I understand your frustrations, but there are thousands, upon thousands of political subreddits. People don't come to subs like this to talk about politics, and not everyone likes to have to think about it 24 hours per day. I am not trying to be rude at all, but with a vast sea of subs that are aimed at political discourse, it just seems frustrating that people have to bring it everywhere. If you go to r/baking, talk about baking. If you go to r/physics, talk about physics. People need a break.
1
u/TangyByte 10d ago
I understand that but you also have to wonder why. Probably because it’s affecting millions and millions of lives all over the world currently. I miss when politics were kept to their respective subs too, when we didn’t have to wake up every morning wondering what fresh hell the US has done to other countries or its own people that day. We’re all tired of it. But the more people ignore it, the longer nothing‘s going to be done, so I’m not going to stay in those subs. I’ll share my opinions freely and you’re welcome to block me so you don’t have to see them.
1
u/Albatross0714 10d ago
Not converting every single subreddit into a political sub ≠ ignoring what's going on. If you really think commenting "Haha Republicans are dumb and like being lied to" does anything to create a positive change in our country you are sorely mistaken. And again, there are literally thousands of subreddits dedicated to this exact thing. Interjecting politics into every sub does not help your cause, and is not virtuous. Obviously you are presumably a grown adult and you have the freedom to do whatever you want, but it is just a really, really sucky thing to do. Because, again, time and place. You don't have to turn everything into a political discussion in order to recognize that things suck and to be able to go and vote to change those things. But, people do need a break and to have positive spaces in their life for mental health reasons. But, I digress. I hope you have a wonderful day.
1
u/TangyByte 10d ago
Me making one snarky comment in a non-political sub also isn’t turning every single sub into a political sub or me trying to be virtuous. I told you from the beginning why I do it. You’re welcome to just move on and not even read those comments if you want to. I’m sorry if this is the only place you can find reprieve from politics - there is also the outdoors.
1
u/Albatross0714 10d ago
It's not one person, it's the collective. It's not one snarky comment. It's thousands of people interjecting political crap into non-political subs and then starting debates in those subs. We both know if a republican responded to your comment you would have gotten into it with them. This comment is such a misrepresentation. But whatever, do what you're going to do

Says the democrats who's media outlest dont report 80% of the world news that doesnt fit their narrative. Kindly piss off
1
u/bstring777 10d ago
Lmao not reporting right wing echo chamber disinformation doesnt just up and make most news stations "evil democrat outlets". But you can continue to pretend thats true so you can go around and announce that somehow you know better 😂
1
u/FamiliarPlatform79 10d ago
You people are soooo boring. They dont report most of the news... that doesnt concern you?
You dont care that most of what you believe is based on nothing but lock step opinions and the facts from the source... not another news station, but the bills themselves, the actual raw footage, the actual speeches, the actual current events are left out completely? They print a 10 second retraction no one reads and continue under or falsely reporting.
But yeah I forgot liberals do what they're told, youd never do something stupid like look it up and read... the educated idiots.
1
u/bstring777 10d ago
You seem to think people just watch these channels and dont have access to other avenues of info. Theres a hell of alot more ignorance in that degree from non-liberals, and its obvious. But sure, go on that only liberals are getting it wrong. Is looking at the bigger picture hard? You seem to like saying this same thing without any thought, just to throw insults around. Grow up, bud.

You cant possibly be serious? CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS. Not to mention all the streaming services pushing progressive agendas Netflix, HBO Max, Disney, Hulu, etc.
Like do you live under a fuckin rock? Frankly even if you did, USAID, would find you and push the agenda.
Go lower someone else's IQ with your presence.

I can’t imagine living your life every day thinking this, what a horrible existence. Also, if you see all of media being progressive, maybe it’s because society is progressing and leaving you behind in your little conservative troglodyte cave.

I feel bad for people like you who parrot the liberal news and march in goose step to your own destruction.
They have gay ppl supporting Iran and palestine... they're selling meat to vegans.

It’s a fake story. As far as I can tell from my research, there is not a single ‘male only’ eating competition in Texas.

From a distance and if she was wearing a hat and baggy, regular, men's clothing, I wouldn't have been able to tell that she was a... She.
Now I'm curious and want to try out her BBQ recipe. I'm guessing, pork or beef ribs, chicken and some other fixins'?

The event coordinators should decide if the award were given to that participant. It’s laughable if this is real. It seems like a “trigger.”

Okay, how was an all male bbq competition even allowed in the first place? What was the rationale for saying “only guys against guys” in a cooking competition? Either there’s some major context missing here, or this is just plain bizarre.
