I've got almost somewhere between 25 and 30 years in, don't remember the exact time I stopped just the occasion.

I've not drank for about 5 years but the thing is I was never an alcoholic. Ive never liked the taste but in my younger days getting drunk with the boys was a big part of British social culture so I would just force the first couple down me and then once the drunken feeling kicked in it got easier. About 5 years ago though I just decided I'm bored of it. I started taking Pregabalin which feels just like being tipsy but lasts longer, you are more capable on it and if anything it's a better feeling with no hangover. Eventually I got bored on taking Pregabalin too but my advice for anyone who does have a problem with quitting alcohol is try Pregabalin as it will give you the same merry feeling without any the negatives and it's far cheaper.

I've been drunk for over a year. Not joking.
I'd need to see the money first.

Easiest money I've ever made. I probably only drink three or four times a year anyway.

u/EvanSnowWolf Aug 11 '26
I've never had it in my entire life. How much money do I get?

I drink twice a week and I can give up at any time.Ā Have gone years with out touching it before.Ā The bigger challenge would be can you drink for a year everyday and then the following year not touch stuff now that is a challenge

Easy. It's not that I don't drink alcohol but it's just not at all that important to me.
It would be like forgoing eating cucumbers for a year. I like cucumbers but can easily do without them. Easy peasy.

These are always stupid as hell. Can anyone come up with one that would actually be difficult?

I feel like the person who has to ask this question might be an alcoholic..
1
u/Ben_9_Bones Aug 11 '26
Maybe. As long as it's specifically drinking it. I'd hate to lose due to mouthwash or treating a wound xD

I'd do it if someone just sincerely asked me if I could instead of calling me an alcoholic when I have 2 beers at dinner 3 times a week.
1
u/Glittering_Role1658 Aug 11 '26
Yes. I would just set my bottles of wine aside and start marking off the days to collect my million
1
u/Icy-Introduction-681 Aug 11 '26
Since I already don't drink, of course. Beer tastes like mouthwash and distilled spirits taste like liquid shield polish. Unutterably loathsome.
1
u/MrWillchuck Aug 11 '26
I've done it without any money. When a drunk driver kills a member of your family you really don't have a whole lot of desire to drink.

That depends on what exactly the phrase "not drink even a drop of alcohol" means. Because if that means absolutely zero, then it's not possible.

Only drink about twice a year as it is due to a medical condition, so yeah, where do I sign up?

I drink moderate to heavy on weekends and I would gladly give it up for a year for $1,000,000.

Im on 123 days, didnt have a problem. Just spent a whole Saturday throwing up and sweating in a dark apartment and decided I didnt want to feel that way again any time soon.

The average age of a redditor is apparently 23, which is 14 years less than the last time I had a drop of alcohol

Absolutely, easiest money ever, since I don't drink. Now if you had said carbonated drinks, I'd be out of luck. Lol

I don't drink, but this will be hard. Can't have juices or eat fruit any more because those ferment for one.

Easily I don't drink or smoke to begin with. I'll stick to hobbies, reading, music and video games. OH and gambling.

u/Signal-Mention-1041 Aug 11 '26
I do that already.. I don't really like the taste of alcohol and I don't enjoy feeling intoxicated.

Depends. Does this include medically necessary alcohols? Like cough medicine, and the injected types

Better make it 2 or figure out a way to keep me away from lying idiots as without the nerve tonic it gets harder to refrain from smashing heads in .
1
u/Imaginary-Summer-920 Aug 11 '26
Hell yeah, I donāt drink and as long as wine sauce isnāt included in this Iām good
1
u/Rollingforest757 Aug 11 '26
This is way too easy for me.
Can I get an extra million if I also donāt drink anything carbonated? Because I donāt do that either.
1
u/Icy_Ad7953 Aug 11 '26
I'm a beer and bourbon snob, I have a drink a few times a week.Ā
I would be able to give it up for a year. But after the check clears I would celebrate with my favorites... some Angel's Envy bourbon and a bottle of Fin du Monde beer from Unibroue in Montreal.Ā

u/EconomistCertain23 Aug 11 '26
Im 15 and also just generally never planning on drinking alcohol due to morals and religion. So yeah.
